전력기술개발의 중요성

  • 지난 70년대 두차례에 걸쳐 밀어닥친 에너지파동을 계기로 우리나라의 산업구조는 크게 달라지고 있으며 아직까지 지속되고 있는 중동정세의 퇴미로 국내외정세는 우리에게 커다란 시련을 안겨주고 있다. 에너지정책도 이와같은 정세를 반영해서 크게 변화하고 있다. 고도성장기에는 우선 무엇보다도 왕성한 전력수요에 대한 공합의세를 다해야하는 것이 전력정책의 최우선적인 과제였으며 이예따라 대규모의 전원개발이 계속 추진 되어왔던 것이다. 그러나 오늘날 전력사업의 경영과제는 전력수요의 정대에 따라 야기되고 있는 이른바 수요저성장사능에 어떻게 효율적으로 대처해 나가야만 할 것인가 하는데로 옮겨지고 있다. 이러한 소용돌이에서 보다 저렴하고 안정된 전력을 공급할 수 있도록 혁신적인 기술개발에 기대하지 않을 수 없다.

  • Urechis unicinctus spermatogenic cells, sperm and spermatids, prepared from testis are investigated to identify nuclear actin using amoeba monorlonal anti-actin as the first Ab and gold particles (10 nm) conjugated mouse IgG (immunogold) as the Ab marker. The Ag-Ab reactions analyzed the localization of nuclear actin of the spermatogenic cells and the immunogold particles incorporated mainly with nuclear matrices. A few immunogold particles are merged into the acrosomes and the other architectures of spermatogenic cells, such as mitochondrion and centrioles. It is often observed and there is a tendency in which the incorporated immunogold particles are increased in number in the nuclear matrices of sperm compared with that of spermatids The increments and decrements of the incorporated immunogold particles according to developmental stages and the spermatogenic architec-tures are interpreted and discussed in aspect of acrosomal function and of nuclear condensation of spermatids.

A Content Analysis of International News in the North Korean Newspapers: The Relationships Between Foreign Policy of the Labor Party and Propaganda of Foreign Affairs (북한신문의 국제뉴스 내용분석: 당 대외정책과 국제정세선전의 관계를 중심으로)

  • This research analyzes contents of international news in the North Korean newspapers to examine the relationships between foreign policy of the labor party and propaganda of foreign affairs. The results show that international news of the Rodong shinmun and Minjoo Chosun as the ideological apparatus reflects the recent changes of foreign policy of the Kim Jung-Il regime, aiming at the successful control and mobilization of the people. However, the coverage difference between two newspapers has not been found, which means that the press control of the state is routinized. The relationships between political power and the press in North Korea has been discussed from the perspective of international communication.

  • 이란혁명, TMI원발사고와 격동속에 막을 내린 1979년, 그 여진은 금년에 들어서도 계속되고 있으며 $\lceil$석유위기=원자력에 의한 석유대체$\rfloor$가 80년대 최대의 과제의 하나로서 크로즈업 되는 것을 필연의 정세이다. 이와같은 속에서 유럽에서는 프랑스가 석유정세의 위기를 배경으로 재빨리 원자력개발을 선수를 치는 것을 위시해서 영국, 서독 등 모두가 적극자세로 나오고 있으며 원자력에 의한 석유위기 타개에 전력을 기울이고 있음이 현상이다.

Evaluation of Radiation-induced Apoptosis in Seminiferous Tubule of ICR Mouse after Gamma Irradiation. (감마선을 조사한 ICR 마우스 정세관에서 apoptosis 발생 평가)

  • The killing of male germ cells by radiation and other toxicants has recently been attributed to apoptosis, but a critical evaluation of the presence of the different features of apoptosis in each epithelial stage has not been performed. In this study, mouse testes exposed to radiation were examined by light microscopy and terminal transferase-mediated end labeling (TUNEL) with periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) stains to determine whether the cells were apoptotic according to several criteria. Apoptosis was easily recognized by the presence of peroxidase-stained, entirely apoptotic bodies. In the TUNEL-positive cells or bodies, the stained products correlated precisely with the typical morphologic characteristics of apoptosis as seen at the light microscopic level. The changes that occurred from 0 to 24 hours after exposing the mice to 2 Gy of gamma-rays (2 Gy/min) were examined. The numbers of apoptotic cells reached a peak at 12 hours after irradiation and then declined. The mice that received 0-8 Gy of gamma-rays were examined 8 hours after irradiation. Dose-response relationships were generated for each stage of the epithelial cycle by counting TUNEL-positive cells. The dose-response curves were linear- quadratic [y=(-0.014${\pm}$0.009)$D^{2}$+(0.31${\pm}$0.697)D+0.3575. Where y=the number of apoptotic cells per seminiferous tubule, and D=the irradiation dose in Gy, $r^{2}$=0.9] and there was a significant relationship between the frequency of apoptotic cells and the radiation dose. Although the maximum response was produced by 8 Gy, even 0.5 Gy induced marked changes. These changes were most pronounced in B spermatogonia of stage V and the spermatocyte at the mitotic cells of stage XII.

  • The spermiogenesis and mature spermatozoa of Pseudobagrus fulvidraco were described by means of scanning and transmission electron microscopy. Spermiogenesis is characterized by lateral development of the flagellum, nuclear rotation, deep nuclear fossa formation and compaction into thick granules. The spermatozoa exhibit a round head containing a nucleus that lacks an acrosome, and having a midpiece and a flagellum. The midpiece is small and has a short cytoplasm including several mitochondria separated from the tail by the cytoplasmic canal. The flagellum contains the 9+2 classical axoneme structure and has two axonemal fins. The presence of axonemal fins in the flagellum is a common character in Bagridae. The interrelationships among the Bagridae as well as other teleosts are herein discussed.

Application of Periodic Acid Thiocarbohydrazide Silver Proteinate Physical Development ( PA-TCH-SP-PD) Stain to Observation of Sertoli Cell (세르톨리세포 관찰을 위한 PA-TCH-SP-PD 염색의 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the applicability of periodic acid thiocarbohy-drazide silver proteinate, physical development (PA-TCH-SP, -PD) stain to the seminiferous tubules for the ultrastructural studies of Sertoli cell column and Sertoli cell processes. In the Sertoli cell cloumn and Sertoli cell processes, high concentration of the reactive granules were observed under transmission electronmicroscope (TEM) after PA-TCH-SP-PD stain. Also some reactive granules were seen in the spermatogonium cytoplasm, clearly. These reactive granules specifically stained with PA-TCH-SP, -PD make the Sertoli cell column, Sertoli cell processes and spermatogonium cytoplasm easy to distinguish from nucleus of the germ cells, spermatocyte, spermatid and residual body which did not contain the reactive granules. This result indicates that the PA-TCH-SP, -PD stain is superior to other traditional electronic double stain methods for the ultrastructural studies of Sertoli cell.
