  • This study examined the effects of creative musical on school adaptation and self-efficacy improvement of school maladjusted adolescents. The subjects of this study were 229 students classified as suspected school maladjustment groups through Wee class counselors and students who were judged as at-risk groups as a result of the emotional behavioral evaluation test conducted by the Office of Education. The study period consisted of 100 minutes per session once a week from May 1st to October 31st, 2023, and a total of 15 sessions were held. To verify the effectiveness, a self-efficacy scale (SES) of Kim A-young (2002)'s school adaptation scale and Sherer et al. (1982) was conducted before and after the creative musical, and the results were analyzed through the corresponding t-test. As a result of the study, the subject's school adaptation (p<.05) and the sub-factors of companionship (p<.05), school class (p<.05), and school rules (p<.05) all increased and were statistically significant after the creative musical compared to before. The subject's self-efficacy (p<.01) and the sub-factors of the study, general self-efficacy (p<.01), and social self-efficacy (p<.05) also increased and were statistically significant after the creative musical compared to before it was conducted. Therefore, this study revealed that creative musicals are effective in improving school adaptation and self-efficacy of school maladjusted adolescents.

  • Objectives : This study was designed to investigate depression, anxiety, alexithymia, stress responses between well-controlled and poorly-controlled diabetic patients by glycated hemoglobin levels. Methods : The subjects were 55 diabetic patients(mean age : $49.9{\pm}9.9$, 27 men and 28 women) who were confirmed to have diabetes depending on the laboratory findings as well as clinical symptoms at the St. Vincent Hospital Diabetes Clinic, from Mar. 2004 to Aug. 2004. Korean version of Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), State and Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI), Toronto Alexithymia Scale(TAS) and Stress Response Inventory(SRI) were used for assessment. Based on glycated hemoglobin levels, the patients were divided into 10 well-controlled group(below 7%) and 45 poorly-controlled group(above 7%). We compared BDI, STAI, TAS and SRI scores between two groups by independent t-test. Results 1) Well-controlled diabetics, compared with poorly controlled group, manifested decreased illness duration($12.2{\pm}55.4$months vs. $55.4{\pm}66.6 months)(p=0.000), but other demographic data showed no difference between two groups. 2) The STAI scores of poorly-controlled group were significantly higher in both state anxiety sores $(38.7{\pm}3.8 \;vs.\;43.7{\pm}6.7)(p=0.29)$ and trait anxiety scores$(36.9{\pm}5.7\;vs.\;41.5{\pm}6.4)(p=0.43)$ than well-controlled groups. 3) No significant differences were found in the score of BDI, TAS, SRI between well and poorly-controlled diabetic groups. Conclusion : The above results suggest that poorly-controlled diabetic patients are more likely to have higher anxiety level than well-controlled diabetic patients. However, there were no differences in depression, alexithymia, stress responses between two group. We suggest that physicians should consider integrated approaches for psychiatric problems in the management of diabetic patients.

  • In order to apply the concept of switching costs to the library context, this study aims to identify library users' perceived switching costs, develop and validate a measurement scale for switching costs. A survey involving 210 university students was performed in order to examine the influence of switching costs on the affective commitment and behavioral commitment. Library users' perceived switching costs refer to the procedural and relational costs involved in switching from one library to another. The results of this study show that two types of switching costs as well as library service satisfaction have positive influences on affective commitment, which in turn affects behavioral commitment. The theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed.

  • This study was to examine the effectiveness of brainwave training by observing the pre and post brainwave measurement results of about 48 (experimental group 24, comparative group24) subjects who have shown resistancestress and student assessment. The study took place at neuro-training center in P city I, during Jul. 2008 and Dec. 2008. As the brainwaves are adjusted by Brain Quotient, the tool used to measure the student assessment was 5Likert Scale questionnaire. The result confirmed the differences of both resistance stress quotient and student assessment. The result of the study suggest brainwave technique's possibility in positively affecting the subjects" resistance stress quotient and student assessment. This study revealed meaningful relation between neurofeedback training and stress among several categoties, while suggesting follow-up researches figuring out more detailed explanations.

  • Spielbergers Test Anxiety Inventory(TAI) is a self-report scale which can measure the cognitive(Worry) and affective(Emotionality) components of test anxiety separately. After having administered it to 756 Korean middle school students, it was concluded that some of the items of TAI were not relevant for Koreans as they were. They have been revised on the basis of informations collected from interviews with Korean students. The Korean Form of TAI(TAI-K) consists of 25 items for primary school- and 35 for high school students. The Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of the TAI-K and the test-retest reliability were proved(${\alpha}=.90,$ r=.78 for primary school students ; ${\alpha}=.94,$ r=.85 for high school students). General Anxiety Scale and Self-esteem Scale were used to prove its validity. test Anxiety correlates with general anxiety positively. while it correlates with self-esteem negatively.
