  • There is big problem that must change contents that is made out by HTML to service existent wire HTML contents in wireless environment to WML, HDML, mHTML. It is Markup language automatic conversion engine that is proposed to solve these problem. But, facility that studied most Markup language automatic conversion engines process text and image information so far is not sufficient. In this thesis, image file format that wireless terminal supports image on wire internet, presented mechanism that change real time automatic and algorithm that can do to optimize output of image which consider screen size of wireless terminal.

  • In order to handle client's requests while multiple servers seamlessly work in the web server cluster environment, it is vital to implement a router that execute a routing using TCP information and requested target content. The implemented package software measured packet volume that was generated from data generator, virtual server, and server 1, 2, 3, and could find out traffic distribution toward Server 1, 2, 3. As the result of the study shows, Round Robin Algorithm ensured definite traffic distribution, unless incoming data loads differ much. Although error levels were high in some partial cases, they were eventually alleviated by repeated tests for a longer time.

  • 최근 가상교육에서 학습 기술의 상호 운용성을 기반으로 한 표준화의 필요성을 인식하고 여러 국제표준기관을 통해서 기반 환경과 컨텐트 명세 및 활용에 대한 표준화 작업이 이루어지고 있다. 이로 인해 e-learning 분야에서는 국제표준을 소개하고 체제적으로 AICC(Aviation Industry CBT Committee), IMS(Instructional Management Systems) Global Learning Consortium, ADL(Advanced Distributed Learning)을 중심으로 진행되어 오고 있다. 특히, 미래의 진보적인 e-learning 환경 개발로, 기능별 5계층으로 구성된 LTSA(Learning Technology Standard Architecture)를 제정하고 이를 통한 개발을 지원하고 있다. 하지만, 이는 시스템 구성요소를 정의한 계층 3의 경우 데이터 흐름 모델로 작성되어 현재 개발 수준과 일치하지 않는 문제점을 가지는 모델로 인정한다. 본 논문에서는 표준 모델링 언어인 UML(Unified Modeling Language)을 통해 모델을 재정의하고, 각 프로세스별 단계를 메타모델로 제시하여 개발과 아키텍처의 이해에 대한 문제점을 해결하고자 한다. 또한, 재정의된 모델을 기반으로 e-learning 지원을 위한 분석, 설계 프로세스를 정의하여 이에 대한 사례를 제시한다. 이는 아키텍처를 기반으로 한 메타모델과 프로세스를 통한 교육영역의 질의 응답 학습 도구인 QALT(Query-Answer Learning Tool)에 적용한다. 모델의 재정의로 아키텍처의 이해성 및 이를 기반으로 하는 교육용 애플리케이션 개발의 용이성의 증대를 기대할 수 있으며, 모델의 재사용성을 보장할 수 있다.

Adaptation for Object-based MPEG-4 Content with Multiple Streams (다중 스트림을 이용한 객체기반 MPEG-4 컨텐트의 적응 기법)

  • In this paper, an adaptive algorithm is proposed in streaming MPEG-4 contents with fluctuating resource amount such as throughput of network conditions. In the area of adaptive streaming issue, a lot of researches have been made on how to represent encoded media(such as video) bitstream in scalable way. By contrast, MPEG-4 supports object-based multimedia content which is composed of various types of media streams such as audio, video, image and other graphical elements. Thus, it can be more effective to provide individual media streams in scalable way for streaming object-based content to heterogeneous environment. The proposed method provides the multiple media streams corresponding to an object with different qualities and bit rate in order to support object based scalability to the MPEG-4 content. In addition, an optimal selection of the multiple streams for each object to meet a given constraint is proposed. The selection process is adopted a multiple choice knapsack problem with multi-step selection for the MPEG-4 objects with different scalability levels. The proposed algorithm enforces the optimal selection process to maintain the perceptual qualities of more important objects at the best effort. The experimental results show that the set of selected media stream for presenting objects meets a current transmission condition with more high perceptual quality.

A Design of Integrated System for Real Time Multimedia Presentation and Content Creation (실시간 멀티미디어 프리젠테이션 및 컨텐트 제작을 위한 통합 시스템 설계)

  • This paper presents a method to design the integrated system for supporting both multimedia contents creation and its presentation in a windows system. Especially, it describes techniques for designing an integrated editor that can be used to crate and edit various media data including continuous media such as audio and video. And it also proposes a system model for systematically integrating multimedia creation tool with multimedia presentation system where the buffering and scenario-based presentation methods are included in the propose system for supporting effective multimedia presentation through a network. Finally, we describe a threads processing technique based on event monitoring to satisfy needs for presentation control, synchronization control, and user's input control during a multimedia presentation.

A Study on the Characteristics of Information Design in Multimedia Design (멀티미디어디자인에서 정보디자인 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Although information design principles had originated from the graphic design field including publishing design in 1970s, information design have taken one of the most important positions in multimedia design fields as the present since Richard Saul Wurmn started his researches on information design and its practical application on internet environments. However, relatively little researches have been performed for building identity of information design in multimedia design fields so far and moreover in some cases, information design is likely to be narrowly viewed as 'the representation of a piece of information and its visualization' which was defined in traditional graphic design field. This research circumstance leads the study to investigate characteristics of information design in current multimedia design with contingent perspective which is compared to the traditional information design. The study results suggest 5 characteristics of information design including 'suggesting context & finding out information hierarchy', 'access of integrated consideration & share of information control', 'using of multi-dimensional media & content first', 'stabilization of information quality & combinational understanding of meaning', 'bilateral information representation & user's knowledge expansion'. Future researches, based on the results of the study, are expected to be expanded to a degree with argument for inter-dependent and/or exclusive characteristics of adjacent fields of information design such as interface design, interaction design and experience design.

동북아 과학기술 허브로 육성을 위한 과학기술 정보인프라 구축 방안 : 유럽연합(TTU)의 과학기술 협력 및 정보인프라 정책의 벤치마킹

  • 참여정부의 출범과 한께 과학기술계에서는 동북아 과학기술 허브 구축방안 논의가 활발히 진행되고 있으나, 현재까지 이러한 논의는 법제도의 정비 및 과학기술특구 건설 등의 이슈에 한정되고 있는 실정이며, 더욱이 이를 뒷받침할 실증적 연구는 미미하다. 허브란 개념이 네트워크에서의 중심성(centrality)을 의미 하며, 현재 및 미래의 과학학기술협력 네트워크 발전에 정보통신기술이 중요한 역할을 수행함을 고려할 때, 우리나라의 초고속통신망 인프라를 십분 활용한 차세대 과학기술 정보인프라의 구축을 통한 동북아 사이버 연구네트워크상의 허브화(궁극적으로는 e-Science의 허브화를 지향)는 지역 클러스터 건설을 통한 물리적 허브화 못지 않게 중요하다 하겠다. 본 연구는 먼저 네트워크 분석기법을 동아시아의 과학기술협력 네트워크에 적용하여 주요 네트워크 지수를 실증적으로 진단하고, 특히 이를 유럽연합의 과학기술협력 네트워크의 패턴과 비교 분석하였다. 유럽 연합은 1984년부터 과학기술 협력 프로그램인 Framework Program을 시작하여 일찍부터 역내 과학기술협력 프로그램을 운영해 온 경험을 가지고 있고, 2000년부터는 자발적 협력과 네트워킹을 통해 유럽의 연구 개발 활동을 통합·조정하기 위해 새롭게 제안된 유럽 연구개발권 (European Research Area) 형성이 구체화되고 있어, 동북아 과학기술협력 네트워크를 건설하는데 좋은 벤치마킹 대상이라 할 수 있다. 이 보고서에서는 유럽 연구개발귄이라는 우산 아래서 유럽의 과학기술 활동이 조정 및 통합되는 과정을 살펴보고, 이를 위한 과학기술 정보인프라의 주요 기능을 컨텐트 (연구정보서비스와 메타데이터 표준), 시스템 (슈퍼 컴퓨팅, 광대역 네트워크, GRID), e-Science 응용연구 별로 살펴보았다. 끝으로 유럽의 경험을: 교훈삼아 동북아 e-Science 네트워크의 건설을 위한 정책적 시사점과 동북아 연구개발정보 Portal 및 APEC APGrid 연구망 등의 구체적인 정보인프라 구축방안을 도출하였다.

  • A pub(lish)/sub(scribe) system is a data forwarding system which forwards only interesting data among the whole published data, which is related to the subscriptions registered by end users. Classical pub/sub systems are realized by constructing a network of brokers which are responsible for storing or forwarding data. Along with the substantial increase of the population mobile users, it is required that the pub/sub system handles the subscriptions of user locations which changes continuously and frequently. In this paper, a new broker network based pub/sub system which efficiently handles the frequent changes of subscriptions related to user locations is proposed. In consideration of moving patterns of users and geographical property, the proposed pub/sub system categorize the entire data space into Slow Moving Region and Normal Moving Region, and manages the brokers which are responsible for these regions by using Q+R tree in order to handle user requests more efficiently. Through the extensive simulation, it is presented that the proposed Q+R tree based pub/sub system can reduce unnecessary needs of brokers and network traffic and can support the dynamic subscription related to user location.

  • When VNDN technology is used as a communication technology for infotainment application services of connected vehicles, it is possible to realize data-centric networking technology in which data is the subject of communication.Vehicle security attacks and hacks, performance degradation during long-distance data transmission, and frequent data loss It is possible to innovate the limitations of the current host-oriented Internet-based infotainment application service technology of connected vehicles. The data packet forwarding issue to deliver critical information data that is very sensitive to delay in the VNDN on a push-based basis to RSU (Road Side Unit), etc. is one of the issues to be solved for realizing VNDN-based application services. We comprehensively analyze existing forwarding techniques to support push-based data traffic under the environment, and compare and analyze each technique in terms of performance.

RCBAC(Relationship-Content based Access Control) Model for User Privacy Protection of Digital Contents in Web 2.0 Environment (웹 2.0 환경에서 사용되는 디지털 컨텐츠의 사용자 프라이버시 보호를 위한 RCBAC 모델)

  • The recent web technology has been developed by three mainsprings which include integration, virtualization, and socialization. The web technology provides the increment of the social networking ability. However it deepens the exposure of privacy about personal information as more complicating and difficult problems. Representatively, it is impossible to define and manage the specific relation, so the personal information and interest can be inferred from collecting and summarizing the contents. Also, there are some problems that it is hard to construct the information owner's own social network. Thus this paper proposes the RCBAC(Relationship-Content based Access Control) Model which applies both the concepts of Relationship and Content Semantic to the existing access control methods to protect the user's own digital contents in web 2.0 environment. This method prevents privacy such as personal inclination from being exposed and enables to define and manage the specific relation. By doing this the information owners can construct their social network. This social network can be applied and extended to web contents.
