The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of the electronic information resources of humanities scholars in Korea and propose the planning of academic library and information services to serve their needs. To collect data, a postal survey was conducted during the period of November 2007 through January 2008. Out of 799 humanities scholars sampled from 25 universities, 132 responded with a completion rate of 16%. The major findings of this study are as follows: Firstly, the majority of humanities scholars distribute their time equally between research and education, and conduct independent research. Secondly, they use, to a certain degree, electronic information resources largely in text format, and depend upon the electronic collection of their academic libraries. Thirdly, with the exception of a couple of sources of electronic journal resources, the electronic resources that these humanities scholars regularly use vary so widely that none could be considered to be a common resource. Fourthly, they value the convenience of accessing and using electronic resources, but worry about the quality and scope of the contents. It is suggested that academic libraries (1) become the gateway for the electronic information that is available both inside and outside the library, (2) provide integrated search feature for and a 'single sign on' access to electronic resources, and (3) plan customized user education for specific subject fields in the humanities.

본 연구에서는 경제, 비즈니스 분야의 정보원을 좀 더 효율적으로 검색하기 위해서 정보/주제 전문가들이 갖고 있는 정보원 선택과 이용에 대한 지식을 획득, 표현하여 정보검색사 또는 최종 이용자들이 공유할 수 있는 웹 기반 전문가 시스템을 구현하였다.

This study aims to look at overall adolescents' and college students' perceptions of library and explore the sources and their related variables as well as find out related issues of perceptions of library and information use of them. The data for this study were collected through survey and analyzed descriptive statistics and correlation analysis using the data. The result shows the population users preferred search engine so much over library as their information search tool even if they trust library information sources more, also, they tend to seek information sources when it has easiness and fastness to get. Correlation analysis such as ${\chi}^2$ and Spearman were implemented and the result of the correlation shows that many factors of this study covered-such as comparison of information sources-have significant differences each other.

The Meta Search system proposed in this paper is operated based on relevance distribution Infer mation(RDI). It first evaluates the sources applicable to the search, and then selects the most appropriate source. According to the evaluation of the sources, it discreetly collects the documents from the concerned sources and classifies them into a useful order based on the RDI, which is an evaluation score of the sources. The documents are classified into order and presented to the user as a single search result. For this Purpose, this study presents evaluation factor models to present the RDI between the query, and source, and proposes a method for drawing out the RDI based on the evaluation factors. The system for selecting the most appropriate sources according to the query has been developed based on an algorithm that selects the best source. Finally, after searching the documents suitable for query from extracted sources, we present a Meta Search system, HoleInOne, that ranks and merges them.

This study examined the importance of the skin care source on the consumer's general characteristics (lifestyle, residential district and income). The questionnaire survey results showed that women in their twenties choose dermatologic clinics as the best source for skin care. The three-way ANOVA using three variables (lifestyle, residential district and income) showed notable differences between the dermatologic clinic, newspaper?magazine, family?friends, and internet sources. Some suggestions for a marketing strategy were made. For example, newspaper?magazine targeting high income consumers is a good means for dermatologic clinics in Seoul and the Internet is better than other sources for other industries in Daejon.

This study is designed to identify the knowledge information resources of international organizations and the current situation and problems of gaining and using the information resources of international organizations. The researcher made a selection of a total of 115 organizations: 59 international organizations and Professional organizations under the jurisdiction of UN, 29 intergovernmental organizations, and 27 regional organizations. The questionnaire subjects were domestic university libraries. national libraries. and professional libraries of a certain size. The researcher took a look at the current collection situations of international organization information resources, the designation of trusted libraries. the subject areas of Possessed international organizational publications. the current situations of material management and use, the demand for international information resources. The findings will hopefully be used as basic materials for the service model of official international integrate information organization.

라플라시안 피라미드 영상을 효율적으로 구성하기 위하여 3$\times$3 가중치 행렬을 이용한 가우시안 저역파기를 이용한다. 각 단계의 영상 전송 시 해당 부호화 방법은 엔트로피 부호화 방법 중 무기억 정보원을 이용하는 허프만 부호화와 산술 부호화 기법을 사용한다. 또한, 기억 정보원을 이용하는 1중 마르코프 산술 부호화를 사용한다. 1중 마르코프 산술 부호화를 사용하면 하위단계 영상일 수록 압축이 더 효율적임을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 보인다.

The purpose of this study is to identify important web pages in a particular area The basic premise is that citation analysis can show a similar relationship among different web pages. Web pages about‘weather’were found using a search engine Each web page was examined by hyperlink from other web pases and/or to other web pages. After this process, seven web pases are linked by many web pages. Seven web pages were analyzed by co-citation analysis. The result shows that selected web pages are linked by characteristics of information provided.

Due to the fact that cognitive authority influences an individual's thoughts so that a given information is perceived as appropriate, people evaluate information based on their cognitive authority. The purpose of the present study is to examine the perception of the cognitive authority of online information sources used by college students to carry out their academic tasks, and to determine whether such perceptions affect the quality assessment of information sources, such as webpages, e-journals, and Wikipedia,. Specifically, we measured how cognitive authority, which were formed by the author, the surface, and the content of an information source influenced its accuracy, usefulness, completeness, and expertise. For this purpose, online surveys were conducted with college students, and 172 valid responses were obtained. Findings indicated that all the characteristics that formed the cognitive authority of an information source had significant impacts on its accuracy, usefulness, completeness, and expertise. The study suggests academic implications that confirm the associations between cognitive authority and credibility of information in the context of online information sources. Furthermore, the study provides practical implications that system developers or operators of information sources need to consider diverse factors that affect their cognitive authority to promote users' trust on the information that they deliver.

광역 네트워크 정보원으로부터 정보량이 증가함에 따라 효율적인 정보검색 도구의 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 기존의 정보검색 도구는 내용기반 검색방법으로 대상영역에 관계되는 체계적인 지식이 결여되어 사용자의 요구에 정확한 정보의 제공이 어려웠다. 본 논문에서는 광역 네트워크 환경에서 시시각각으로 생성.소멸되는 정보 중 사용자가 원하는 정보를 정확한 시간에 정확하게 제공하기 위해 지능적인 처리가 가능한 Ontology를 이용하였다. 광역 네트워크에 산재하는 대량의 정보원에서 Ontology를 이용하여 사용자가 필요한 정보를 자동적으로 수집.분류하는 지능형 에이전트인 정보검색 시스템을 제안한다.
