Sophisticated geometric structure analysis must be preceded to create electronic document from logical components extracted from document image. this paper presents a knowledge-based method for sophisticated geometric structure analysis of technical journal pages. The proposed knowledge base encodes geometric characteristics that are not only common in technical journals but also publication-specific in the form rules. The method takes the hybrid of top-down and bottom-up techniques and consists of two phases: region segmentation and identification. Generally, the result of segmentation process does not have a one-to-one matching with composite layout components. Therefore, the proposed method identifies non-text objects such as image, drawing and table, as well as text objects such as text line and equation by splitting or grouping segmented regions into composite layout components. Experimental results with 372 images scanned from the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence show that the proposed method has performed geometrical structure analysis successfully on more than 99% of the test images, resulting in sophisticated performance compared with previous works.

The quantification of fish school abundance was carried out by using luminance of pixel on scanning sonar image, and compared with the indices of fish school abundance e.g. school number, school area and weighted school area. The survey was carried out in Funka Bay off southern Hokkaido, Japan using research vessel Ushio-Maru during December 1999. A 180-degree scanning sonar with a frequency of 164kHz was used. The school number was counted both left and right 40-degree radial lines from the center of own vessel mark on a scanning image. The school area was measured approximately as an ellipse from the school length and width. The weighted school area was calculated by multiplying school area and average value of inner pixel luminance. A quantification of pixel luminance was also measured to integrate squared pixel luminance value on these lines. Fish school and school bottom were discriminated by the produced sonar echogram using pixel luminance value on these lines. The relationships between the quantified luminance value and other abundance indices such as school area and weighted school area revealed a good correlation. Therefore, the quantified luminance is a useful method in estimating fish school abundance in the acoustic survey using sonar.

The low-cost REID system is expected to be widely used in the ubiquitous computing environment as an intelligent device. Although REID systems have several advantages, they may create new threats to users' privacy. In this paper, a traceable and unlinkable REID system called 'Fair EPC system' is proposed for low-cost RFID tags. The proposed system enables the protection of users' privacy from unwanted scanning, and it is traceable to the tag by authorized administrators when necessary. The proposed system has some advantages; (1) eliminating any danger of exposing users' information via tag tracking through the cooperation between readers or back-end databases, (2) enabling the tracking of real serial number of the tag only through the cooperation of authorized administrators using a cryptographic secret sharing scheme, and (3) providing the efficiency of the proposed system reduce the computational workloads of back-end databases.
2-dimensional electrophoresis(2DE) is a separation technique to identify proteins contained in a sample. However, the image is very sensitive to its experimental conditions as well as the quality of scanning. In order to adjust the possible variation of spots in a particular image, a user should manually annotate landmark spots on each gel image to analyze the spots of different images together. However, this operation is an error-prone and tedious job. This thesis develops an automated method of extracting the landmark spots of an image based on landmark profile. The landmark profile is created by clustering the previously identified landmarks of sample images of the same type. The profile contains the various properties of clusters identified for each landmark. When the landmarks of a new image need to be fount all the candidate spots of each landmark are first identified by examining the properties of its clusters. Subsequently, all the landmark spots of the new image are collectively found by the well-known optimization algorithm $A^*$. The performance of this method is illustrated by various experiments on real 2DE images of mouse's brain-tissues.

Recent promising technologies of the manufacturing sector interest, and the interest in 3D printing that is expected to cause a huge ripple effect rapidly, and various types of products advertised in accordance with the falling price of 3D printers is spreading. However, the personal 3D printers that are currently being advertised is used for Injection output of the simple type that does not require a high processing precision in accordance with the limitation of technical performance, and consumer satisfaction is very low. In this paper, we propose a 3D printer, 3D precision to overcome existing limitations in the way the printer's high SLA 3D printer that combines injection method and the LSU (Laser Scanning Unit) in the office laser printer polygon mirror scanning method. 3D printers which are proposed to improve the accuracy and manufacturing speed is expected to replace the existing entry-level 3D printer.

Security assessment is an indispensable process for a secure network, and appropriate performance indicators must be present to manage risks. The most widely used quantitative indicator is CVSS. CVSS has a problem that it cannot consider context in terms of subjectivity, complexity of interpretation, and security risks. To compensate for these problems, we propose indicators that itemize and quantify four things: attackers, threats, responses, and assets, taking into account the security context of ISO/IEC 15408 documents. Vulnerabilities discovered through network scanning can be mapped to MITREATT&CK's technology by the connection between weaknesses and attack patterns (CAPEC). We use MITREATT&CK's Groups, Tactic, and Mitigations to produce consistent and intuitive scores. Accordingly, it is expected that security evaluation managers will have a positive impact on strengthening security such as corporate networks by expanding the range of choices among security indicators from various perspectives.
Purpose: To design and fabricate the auto pattern maker for the development. Methods: we got the necessary data, needed in design, by using CAD. Based on the these data, we fabricated the trial product for the development of the auto pattern maker. Results: The auto pattern maker were composed with combinations of many elements; pattern making assembly, control panel, frame attachment and prober unit. The pattern making assembly was comprised of the cutter, the pattern holder, pattern remover and silence cover which could minimize the sound during the cutting process. The control panel was designed to be connected and operated with the main printed circuit board. The prober could get the eye shape data by scanning of 1.8 degrees around the groove of the frame through the encoding data according to the address. After starting, scanning was carried out in two passes, i.e. one right-handed and one left-handed. Communication connector could send the eye shape data from auto pattern maker to outer system with the RS232C transmission system. By using the one-way analysis of variance, we got the error rate of cut pattern size for ${\Phi}22mm$, ${\Phi}55mm$ and ${\Phi}62mm$. Because F-value was 0.510 and p-value was 0.601, no statistically significant differences were found. Also, the mean cutting error of the auto pattern maker was 0.0274 mm. Conclusions: we could succeed in making the trial product by applying it to the development of the auto pattern maker. The role of this auto pattern maker is to find a exact required size of lens to fit the frame by measuring the frame. The acquired data are transferred to outer system for grinding and finishing with patternless process. Also, the trial product can produce pattern to fit the frame. Therefore, it was confidently expected that the optometrists could handily produce pattern to fit the frame with this trial product and dispense the ophthalmic lens because of its efficiency and convenience compared to the past.

Open pit mines for limestone mining require rapid development of technologies and efforts to prevent safety accidents due to rapid deterioration of the slope due to deforestation and rapid changes in the topography. Accurate three-dimensional spatial information on the terrain should be the basis for reducing environmental degradation and safe development of open pit mines. Therefore, this study constructed spatial information about open pit mine using UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and analyzed its utility. images and 3D laser scan data were acquired using UAV, and digital surface model, digital elevation model and ortho image were generated through data processing. DSM(Digital Surface Model) and ortho image were constructed using image obtained from UAV. Trees were removed using 3D laser scan data and numerical elevation models were produced. As a result of the accuracy analysis compared with the check points, the accuracy of the digital surface model and the digital elevation model was about 11cm and 8cm, respectively. The use of three-dimensional geospatial information in the mineral resource development field will greatly contribute to effective mine management and prevention of safety accidents.

In this paper, a model that can increase the efficiency of work in arranging interior furniture by applying augmented reality technology was studied. In the existing system to which augmented reality is currently applied, there is a problem in that information is limitedly provided depending on the size and nature of the company's product when outputting the image of furniture. To solve this problem, this paper presents an AR labeling algorithm. The AR labeling algorithm extracts feature points from the captured images and builds a database including indoor location information. A method of detecting and learning the location data of furniture in an indoor space was adopted using the CNN technique. Through the learned result, it is confirmed that the error between the indoor location and the location shown by learning can be significantly reduced. In addition, a study was conducted to allow users to easily place desired furniture through augmented reality by receiving detailed information about furniture along with accurate image extraction of furniture. As a result of the study, the accuracy and loss rate of the model were found to be 99% and 0.026, indicating the significance of this study by securing reliability. The results of this study are expected to satisfy consumers' satisfaction and purchase desires by accurately arranging desired furniture indoors through the design and implementation of AR labels.

Cracking in concrete structure must be examined according to appropriate methods, to ensure structural serviceability and to prevent structural deterioration, since cracks opened wide for a long time expedite corrosion of rebar. A site investigation is conducted in a regular basis to monitor structural deterioration by tracking growing cracks. However, the visual inspection are labor intensive. and judgment are subject. To overcome the limit of the on-site visual investigation image processing for identifying the cracks of concrete structures by analyzing 2D images has been developed. This study develops a unique 3D technique utilizing a line laser and its projection image onto concrete surfaces. Automated process of crack detection is developed by the algorithms of automatizing crack map generation and image data acquisition. Performance of the developed method is experimentally evaluated.
