  • 가상공간에서 탑승자에게 운동감을 제공하기 위해서 수많은 형태의 모션 시뮬레이터가 개발되어 왔다. 하지만 이러한 형태의 시뮬레이터들은 그 고유한 형태에 의해 정해진 동역학과 워시아웃 알고리즘을 거쳐야만 정밀한 시뮬레이터가 될 수 있다. 본 논문은 기존의 좁은 시야공간에서의 시뮬레이터가 아닌 넓은 시야를 제시하고, 모션 베이스와 독립적으로 운영되는 영상 제시기를 이용하여 탑승자에게 운동감을 제공하는 분리형 시뮬레이터를 대상으로 하여 영상과 모션을 동기화시켜서 제시하는 방법에 대해 논의하고자 한다.

  • In this Paper, we propose an Energy Efficient Time Synchronization technique based on WUSB (Wireless USB) over WBAN (Wireless Body Area Networks) protocol required for Wearable Computer systems. For this purpose, the proposed Time Synchronization algorithm minimizes power consumption and estimates time information with accuracy. It is executed on the basis of WUSB over WBAN protocol at each sensor node comprising peripherals of a wearable computer system. It minimizes power consumption by exchanging time stamp packets and forming a hierarchical structure.

  • 통신망에서 시각/주파수 동기(synchronization)를 맞추기 위해서는 지상망을 이용하거나 위성을 이용하는 방법이 있다. 위성을 이용한 방법에서 지상의 송신국은 정밀시각정보, 위성위치데이타 및 오차보정데이타 등을 위성으로 송신한다. 이를 위해서 송신국의 위성데이터처리장치는 데이터 수집 및 가공, 베이스 밴드부로의 전송시 외부 기능블럭들과 신뢰성 있고 신속한 데이터처리를 수행하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 한국통신의 무궁화위성을 이용한 시각/주파수 전송시스템 개발의 일환으로 송신국의 위성데이타처리장치에 대한 설계 및 구현 알고리즘을 제시하고자 한다.

  • In order to monitor in large area of a ship without any concerns of spacial environments, there can be the use of many sensors that support wireless network technologies. Through the deployment of the wireless sensors and their autonomous network formations, the status of a ship can be easily monitored in real time. Moreover, if all the sensors are timely synchronized with each other, the locations and the moving directions of certain events can be estimated. Thus, the time synchronization amongst wireless sensors are crucial. In this paper, we propose an algorithm which supports reduced message transmissions between the sensors for synchronization.

A Time Comparison Measurement Technique for eLoran Receivers (시각비교를 위한 eLoran 수신기 지연측정 기술)

  • ELoran Systems can provide Position, Navigation, and Time services with comparable performance to Global Positioning Systems (GPS) as a back up or alternative system. High timing and navigation performance can be achieved by eLoran signals because eLoran receivers use "all-in-view" reception. This incorporates Time of Arrival (TOA) signals from all stations in the service range because each eLoran station is synchronized to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Transmission station information and the differential Loran correction data are transmitted via an additional Loran Data Channel (LDC) on the transmitted eLoran signal such that eLoran provides improved Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) over legacy Loran. In this paper, we propose a technique for adapting the delay time compensation values in eLoran timing receivers to provide precise time comparison. For this purpose, we have designed a system that measures time delay from the crossing point of the third cycle extracted from the current transformer at the end point of the transmitter. The receiver delay was measured by connecting an active H-field, an E-field and a passive loop antenna to a commercial eLoran timing receiver. The common-view time transfer technique using the calibrated eLoran timing receiver improved the eLoran transfer time. A eLoran timing receiver calibrated by this method can be utilized in the field for precise time comparison as a GNSS backup.

  • This paper presents a performance analysis of the GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver on board in LEO satellites, based on the comparison of its in-orbit performances and corresponding ground test results. An extensive ground tests on the subject GPS receiver has been performed in diverse conditions under the right frame of ground test environments and the analysis of in-orbit performances has also been performed with the huge amount of accumulated GPS data which has been in operation for 6 years since its launch on 2006. For this analysis, we chose three sets of in-orbit data; the data during the early mission period, the data at the 3-year mission completion time, and the most recent in-orbit data. As the performance measures, we selected the position and time synchronization accuracy, and the comparative analysis shows the concurrency between the in-orbit performances and the ground test results with in these performance measures, verifying the validity of the ground test. It is expected that the test configuration and analysis method presented in this paper can be applied to developing and verifying the future Koreanized satellite GPS receivers.

위성항법기반 항법장비의 병렬 구성을 활용한 안전성 향상

  • GPS(Global Positioning System)로 대표되는 위성항법시스템(GNSS: Global Navigation Satel lite System)은 우주공간의 위성을 이용하여 사용자에게 위치와 함께 시각 정보를 제공해 준다. 위성항법시스템은 항법 분야 뿐 아니라 측량, 측지를 비롯하여 정밀 시각동기 및 지각변동의 측정까지 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 항법분야에 있어서 위성항법시스템의 오차를 제거한 정밀한 위치 정보를 이용하여 이동체에 활용하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 위성항법을 움직이는 이동체에 적용할 경우 주변 환경에 따라 위성항법 신호의 오차가 증가하여 급격한 위치 오차를 유발하므로 추가적인 센서 사용을 통하여 안전성을 향상시킬 필요가 있다. 이 논문에서는 위성항법 기반의 위치정보와 이동체에 부착되어 있는 센서 정보를 병렬적으로 사용하는 주행시스템을 구성하고 주행 시험을 수행하였다. 이동체에 부착되어 있는 센서 정보를 이용한 주행시스템의 경우 이동 거리를 측정할 수 있는 엔코더와 조향각을 측정할 수 있는 포텐셔미터 그리고 차량 모델을 이용하여 구성하였다. 시험 결과 위성항법기반의 위치 정보와 이동체의 센서 정보를 이용한 위치 오차의 차이는 0.4m 이내로 위성항법 신호에 급격한 오차가 들어오는 경우 이동체의 센서 정보를 이용하여 감지할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • A continuous and reliable electrical energy supply is the objective of any power system operation. A transmission line is the part of the power system where faults are most likely to happen. This paper describes the use of wavelet transform for analyzing power system fault transients in order to determine the fault location. Synchronized sampling was made possible by precise time receivers based on GPS time reference, and the sampled data were analyzed using wavelet transform. This paper describes a fault location monitoring system and fault locating algorithm with GPS, DSP processor, and data acquisition board, and presents some experimental results and error analysis.

An Asynchronous UWB Positioning Scheme with Low Complexity and Low Power Consumption (낮은 복잡도와 전력 소모의 비동기식 UWB 무선측위 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an asynchronous UWB (Ultra Wide Band) Positioning scheme that can provide precise positioning performance with low complexity and low power consumption. We also present the residual test to improve the positioning performance in multipath channels having heavy NLoS (Non-Line of Sight) components. As compared to conventional ToA (Time of Arrival) positioning scheme that requires round-trip transmissions as many as the number of beacons, the proposed UWB positioning scheme effectively decrease power consumption and processing delay since a single round-trip transmission is only required. Also, as compared to conventional TDoA (Time Difference of Arrival) positioning scheme requiring precise synchronization among the beacons, asynchronous nature of the proposed scheme achieves very low system complexity. Through simulations in LoS (Line of Sight) channel models, we observe that the proposed scheme requires low system complexity, low power consumption, while providing positioning performance of almost the same accuracy as the conventional ToA and TDoA positioning schemes. In addition, the proposed scheme by employing the residual test achieves accurate positioning performance even in multipath channels having heavy NLoS components.

  • With the recent increase in demand for geo-registered imagery, Mobile Mapping Systems(MMS), which can quickly construct geographic information, has become important. The main part of MMS is the high-precision observation system, which collects geographic information at a certain speed. MMS has a complex data generation process and requires a standard-specific vehicle for its use, limiting its application range. In this paper, lightweight MMS is proposed to overcome its complexity by replacing the time synchronizer with a high-speed camera and by stabilizing motion with MEMS IMU/GPS. The proposed low-cost, portable method is expected to produce of geo-registered imagery efficiently.
