Automated voltage regulators (AVRs) are used on ships and offshore to automatically adjust the voltage based on real-time output voltage readings of the generator engine. Analog-type AVR was previously more commonly used, but is slowly being replaced with digital-type AVR because of increased demands of response time. This study presents a new digital AVR system that contains appropriate features of the AVR with respect to offshore unstable load conditions and poor operating conditions. Furthermore, experiments of load and voltage change prove the excellence of stability and response of the proposed system compared to previous AVR systems. Additionally, an integrated control system for a monitoring the output voltage and field current was developed to easily set the gain value.

The actual condition of periodic visual acuity testing for 304 undergraduate students were investigated for the purpose of prepared some fundamental data on the development of the eye-health education program and conducting a practical application. Many undergraduate students (59.21%) had not been tested periodic visual acuity testing. The ratio of periodic visual acuity testing for female was higher than male. There was statistical significant difference dependence on the native place, the educational system, and the division of major. The ratio of periodic visual acuity testing for undergraduate students from city was 43.07%, from rural area was 24.32% (p<0.05). According to the educational system, the ratio of periodic visual acuity testing of university students was 65.71%, college students was 27.64% (p<0.001). The ratio of periodic visual acuity testing of undergraduate students who have corrected their visual acuity was 50.25%, while that of students who have not corrected was 23.36% (p<0.001).

한국광학회(회장 윤태훈)이 지난 18일부터 20일까지 사흘간 대전컨벤션센터(DCC)에서 '제24회 정기총회 및 동계학술발표회'를 개최했다. 정기총회와 함께 진행된 동계학술발표회는 총회 초청강연, 광학특강, 특별세션 등으로 꾸며져 기초 광학기술 연구는 물론이고 광융복합 산업의 전 영역에 걸쳐 신기술과 정보를 교환할 수 있는 교류의 장이 됐다.

대한인쇄문화협회 제66회 정기총회가 지난 2월 24일 오전 10시 30분 호텔PJ 카라디움홀에서 개최됐다. 이번 정기총회에서는 김남수 제40대 회장의 임기가 만료됨에 따라 단독으로 입후보한 조정석 (주)대원문화사 대표이사가 협회 정관에 따라 제41대 회장으로 인준됐다.
