Onshore and Offshore Gas Hydrate Production Tests (육상 및 해상 가스하이드레이트 생산시험에 대한 고찰)

  • Recent scaled-up onshore and offshore field production tests revealed that the expectancy to produce gas from the gas hydrate deposits is gradually increasing, recognizing its potentials as one of the future energy resources. The total produced gas was approximately $480m^3$ by the hot water circulation method for 6 days' operation in Mallik 2002 project in Canada. In Mallik 2006-2008 project, the gas was successfully produced stably by the depressurization method for 6 days, up to $13,000m^3$ cumulatively. The depressurization method applied in the Mallik test was revealed as an effective way to produce gas from gas hydrates. The Alaska North Slope field trial in 2012 to inject mixed gas of $CO_2$ and $N_2$ to exchange $CH_4$ was successfully completed for the first time to produce maximum $1,270m^3$ per day. The remarkable achievement is that Japan has completed first offshore production test in the Eastern Nankai Trough, and produced approximately $120,000m^3$ of methane by the depressurization method for 6 days in March 2013. The technical challenges and uncertainties obtained from Nankai Trough production test give Korea more considerations in the aspects of well completion, reservoir formation and seafloor stability, sand control, flow assurance, and etc., due to the different geological environments and geomechnical properties in Ulleung Basin in Korea.

The Application of HACCP System to Soybean Curd and Its Effectiveness (두부류에 대한 HACCP 적용 및 성과)

  • This study aims at making a HACCP(Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)plan to be applied to soybean curd and verifing its effectiveness. First, we develped a general model of HACCP according to the guidelines of Codex (FAO/WHO). And we applied the model to 4 soybean curd workshops for 3 months. The HACCP model is composed of these procedures; HACCP team organization, production description, work flow chart, hazatd analysis, CCP (critical control point) decision, CL (critical limit) establishment, monitoring method decision, correction, verification and documentation. CCP were selection procedure and refrigeration procedure in non-wrapped soybean curd. CCP were selection procedure, heat-sterilizing and refrigeration in wrapped soybean curd. The result of bacterial experiment after apling the model for 3 months, the bacterial numbers of soybean curd box, wrapper, and soybean curd production were lower after appling than before appling, the model. We could verify that the appications of the HACCP model were effective to the soybean curd workshops.

  • This paper examined some problems of media coverage of religion by analyzing a television documentary. The SBS-TV documentary "God's way Man's way" aired in 2008, critically presented the basic Christian doctrine. The producers of the program estimate that protestant churches in Korea have become an established power, which has influence on a societal and political level. Therefore the producers believe that they have the right to criticize that power, especially because its doctrine about salvation leads to serious conflict with other religions, for example, Islam. This program portrayed the doctrine of Jesus as a story borrowed from ancient myths. Consequently, there were harsh protests from the Korean Christian milieu, especially protestants. The author agrees that it is important for the media to critically cover the activities of religious institutions and the behaviors of religious people in the civil society. However, if producers of a documentary want to introduce controversial doctrines of one religion to an audience, they should present the orthodox ones with alternatives or opposing ones, according to the principle of objectivity and fairness of journalism. Since every religion has its mysterious doctrine that cannot be proven by science and reason, journalists should not criticize the sacred part of religion. This paper suggested some ethical points to the media, children of Enlightenment Age, when they cover the religion including its doctrine and mysterious parts.

  • The Army tried to settle the mission command in army command system in 1999 but still not be settled. One of the reason is the absence of practical plans of mission command. The purpose of this study is to find out the moderating effects of personal thinking type to the impact on organizational effectiveness about the impact on organizational effectiveness on sub factors the transformational leadership The main results of this study are as follows. <H1> The charisma and the personal considerations of sub factors of transformational leadership effected positively(+) on the job satisfaction, the charisma effected positively(+) on the organizational commitment. But There was no statistically significant influence on the personal considerations and the effort advocacy <H2> In the result of the moderating effects, in accordance the of a person's each cognitive processing traits is high and low, on the transformational leadership turned out to be a gap in the influence show the difference in organizational effectiveness.on the organizational effectiveness. This results suggest the following. The first. The military group regard highly commandand and discipline. so, the charisma of a superior is that a big impact on organizational effectiveness. The second, For the mission command is to become established in the army, It suggest that need to explore of sub factors of the mission command and need to consider of personal traits with the mission command.

Study on the Manufacturing of Chitosan Using Krill(Euphausia superba Dana) and Quality Characteristics (크릴을 이용한 키토산 제조 및 품질 특성)

  • For the use of Antartic krill(Euphausia superba Dana) as food resource, general composition, extracting condition of chitin and quality characteristics of chitosan were investigated. General composition of frozen krill(Euphausia superba Dana) was consisted of moisture 79.0%, protein 13.1%, lipid 4.0%, VBN 7.7mg%, ash 2.7%, others 1.2% and that of dried krill powder was moisture 5.6%, protein 56.1%, lipid 18.8%, ash 11.4%, others 8.1%. The condition of chitin extraction from krill powder was treated with 1N NaOH at $40^{\circ}C$ for removing protein, 1N HCl for excepting mineral substances and methanol for decoloring. The yield of chitin by new procedure developed was 3.7%. The composition of extracted chitin contents was moisture 7.1%, ash 0.4%, protein 3.5%, lipid 3.1%. The results of degree of deacetylation in chitosan at 50% NaOH, $121^{\circ}C$, for 2 hrs was showed 82%. At the same alkali concentration and reaction concentration, a longer reaction time gave a decreased degree of deacetylation. The apparant viscosity was 0.09241 Pa in 1% chitosan from krill and 0.13826 Pa in standard chitosan.

Study on the Forecasting and Relationship of Busan Cargo by ARIMA and VAR·VEC (ARIMA와 VAR·VEC 모형에 의한 부산항 물동량 예측과 관련성연구)

  • More accurate forecasting of port cargo in the global long-term recession is critical for the implementation of port policy. In this study, the Busan Port container volume (export cargo and transshipment cargo) was estimated using the Vector Autoregressive (VAR) model and the vector error correction (VEC) model considering the causal relationship between the economic scale (GDP) of Korea, China, and the U.S. as well as ARIMA, a single volume model. The measurement data was the monthly volume of container shipments at the Busan port J anuary 2014-August 2019. According to the analysis, the time series of import and export volume was estimated by VAR because it was relatively stable, and transshipment cargo was non-stationary, but it has cointegration relationship (long-term equilibrium) with economic scale, interest rate, and economic fluctuation, so estimated by the VEC model. The estimation results show that ARIMA is superior in the stationary time-series data (local cargo) and transshipment cargo with a trend are more predictable in estimating by the multivariate model, the VEC model. Import-export cargo, in particular, is closely related to the size of our country's economy, and transshipment cargo is closely related to the size of the Chinese and American economies. It also suggests a strategy to increase transshipment cargo as the size of China's economy appears to be closer than that of the U.S.

Enzyme Activity of Lipase Immobilized Non-Woven Fabric for Biodiesel Production (바이오디젤 생산을 위한 리파아제 고정 부직포의 효소활성화)

  • This study is to optimize the enzyme(lipase) activity for biodiesel production. The ion-exchanged non-woven fabrics(EtA, DEA-EtA non-woven fabric) containing ethanolamine, diethylamine groups are used by radiation induced grafted polymerization onto a non-woven fabric for more effective immobilization of lipase. Since the porous hollow fiber membranes are showed the low throughputibehe non-woven fabric membranes are used for biodiesel production. The physical charateristics of enzyme immobilized and the enzyme activity to EtA and DEA-EtA non-woven fabrics are studied. The EtA non-woven fabrics are quite similar to DEA-EtA non-woven fabric for the amount of enzyme immobilized(EtA non-woven fabric:15.69 mg/g, DEA-EtA non-woven fabric:14.45 mg/g) but DEA-EtA non-woven fabrics have shown the lower permeabiliquite the organic solvent than the EtA non-woven fabrics(EtA non-woven fabric:$3.50mol/h{\cdot}kg$, DEA-EtA non-woven fabric:$0.38mol/h{\cdot}kg$). Optimum characteristics of ehe non-woven fabric membranes and the limilaractivity are also investigated for the effective biodiesel production.

Studies on Biological Activity of Wood Extractives(VII) - Antimicrobial and Antioxidation Activities of Extractives from the Heartwood of Prunus sargentii - (수목추출물의 생리활성에 관한 연구(VII) - 산벚나무 심재 추출성분의 항균 및 항산화활성 -)

  • Antimicrobial and antioxidative activities on heartwood extractives of domestic species were investigated to develop a natural fungicide or preservative. Six flavanones including pinostrobin, eriodictyol, naringenin, pinocembrin, taxifolin and verecundin were isolated from Prunus sargentii which has been selected due to its high antimicrobial and antioxidative activities among the tested species. According to the results of antifungal test, pinocembrin was evaluated as the highest antifungal compound among the test compounds, which showed 80% of hyphal growth inhibition rate. Antifungal activity of pinocembrin was similar to hinokitiol(${\beta}$-thujaplicin), strong antimicrobial compound isolated from Thujopsis dolabrata. Naringenin followed pinocembrin in its antifungal activity. However, verecundin did not show any antifungal activity. No compound was effective in antibacterial activities. As a result of the measurement of free radical scavenging activity, antioxidative activities of taxifolin and eriodictyol were 2 times that of ${\alpha}$-tocopherol, and antioxidative index of these compounds were even superior to that of ${\alpha}$-tocopherol. In this regard, it could inferred that high antifungal and antioxidative activities of extractives of P. sargentii were derived from pinocembrin, taxifolin and eriodictyol, respectively.

Effect of Subsurface Drip Pipes Spacing on the Yield of Lettuce, Irrigation Efficiency, and Soil Chemical Properties in Greenhouse Cultivation (지중 점적관수 호스 설치 간격이 상추 수량, 관수량 및 토양 화학성에 미치는 영향)

  • This research was carried out to investigate the effect of installation spacing of subsurface drip irrigation pipe on the mineral content, nutrient uptake, yield of lettuce, water requirement for irrigation, and soil chemical properties in greenhouse cultivation. Semi-forcing and retarding culture were implemented in this experiment, with four treatments containing overhead spray irrigation and three subsurface irrigation lateral spacing intervals of 30, 40, 50 cm at a depth of 30 cm from soil surface, respectively. Each mineral content of lettuce grown under subirrigation system did not show significant difference between treatments, however the uptake of nutrients was lower at 50 cm-distance. The yield was largest in 30 cm-subirrigation (SI), followed by 40 cm-SI, overhead spray, and 50 cm-treatment. Water requirement for irrigation was highest in overhead spray, and it was in reverse proportion to the distance of irrigation pipes. $NO_3$-N content in the soil, at a depth of 10 cm, showed a higher value in 50 cm-SI, followed by 40 cm-SI, overhead spray and 30 cm-SI. Exchangeable K content was highest in 50 cm-SI, Mg was highest in 40 cm-SI, and Ca was lowest in 30 cm-SI. In conclusion, the lettuce yield was not different between 30 and 40 cm-SI, but water requirement for irrigation was lower as the distance of irrigation pipes was further. And it seems to be needed more precise research on this theme, because crop yield and the dynamics of soil minerals in subsurface irrigation can vary with the depth and distance of irrigation pipes, dripper, water flow depending on the soil texture, and plant response to soil minerals.

Analyzing the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) education program based on design thinking process (디자인씽킹 프로세스 기반의 인공지능(AI) 교육 프로그램 적용 효과분석)

  • At the beginning of the discussion of AI education in K-12 education, the study was conducted to develop and apply an AI education program based on Design Thinking and analyze the effects of the AI education programs. In the AI education program, students explored and defined the AI problems they were interested in, gathered the necessary data to build an AI model, and then developed a project using scratch. In order to analyze the effectiveness of the AI education program, the change of learner's perception of the value of AI and the change of AI efficacy were analyzed. The overall perception of the AI project was also analyzed. As a result, AI efficacy was significantly increased through the experience of carrying out the project according to the Design Thinking process. In addition, the efficacy of solving problems with AI was influenced by the level of use of programming languages. The learner's overall perception of the AI project was positive, and the perceptions of each stage of the AI project (AI problem understanding and problem exploration, practice, problem definition, problem solving idea implementation, evaluation and presentation) was also positive. This positive perception was higher among students with high level of programming language use. Based on these results, the implications for AI education were suggested.
