Fundamental Study of Degradation Diagnosis using AE Signals with Void Discharge in XLPE Insulation (XLPE 절연체의 트리 채널내 보이드방전에 의한 AE신호로 절연열화 검출 기법 연구)

  • In this paper, to detect and observation the void discharges pulse signal, AE signals and tree growth characteristics in case the high voltage is applied to a XLPE sample for a power cable. We also examined the partial discharge current pulse and AE signals with the increase of the applied voltage in XLPE insulation. The experimental results show that a branch-type tree grows in the presence of the voids, and a bush-type tree grows in the absence of the voids in both samples. A rate of tree growth increases abruptly in proportional to the deterioration time in the presence of the of the voids, but in the absence of the voids, a rate of tree growth decreases as time goes by and finally a breakdown occurs. The frequency band of AE signals that are generated from the partial discharges in a XLPE sample, one of solid dielectric materials, is about 1.0[MHz].

  • With the improvement of industrial society, the high quality electrical energy, simplification of operation and maintenance, ensuring reliability are being required. We request urgently change a $SF_6$ for an environment friendly gas insulation material. In this paper the experiments of breakdown characteristics by pressure and gap change of Imitation-Air in model GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) were described. Also assess of breakdown characteristics about Imitation-Air and $SF_6$. It is considered in this paper that the results are fundamental data for electric insulation design of Distribution Power Facilities which will be studied and developed in the future. The pressure to be confronted to $SF_6$ gas 1[atm] for Distribution Power Facilities is Imitation-Air 3[atm]. And we could make an environment friendly gas insulation material with maintaining dielectric strength by Imitation-Air which generates a lower level of the global warming effect.

Evaluation of Thermal Aging on PVC Using Thermo Gravimetry Analysis and Accelerated Thermal Aging Test (TGA와 가속열화를 이용한 전선 피복용 PVC의 열적 열화평가)

  • Thermal degradation of PVC which used for insulator of 600V vinyl insulated wire has been studied by thermo gravimetry analysis and accelerated thermal aging test. The activation energy using thermo gravimetry analysis was determined by the kinetic methods, such as Kissinger and Flynn-Wall-Ozawa. The activation energy was determined to from 89.29 kJ/mol to 111.39 kJ/mol in 600V PVC insulated wire and from 97.80 kJ/mol to 119.25 kJ/mol in 600v heat-resistant PVC insulated wire. And also, the activation energy through a long-term thermal aging test was calculated by using Arrhenius equation In the low temperature of 8$0^{\circ}C$, 9$0^{\circ}C$, 10$0^{\circ}C$. The results showed that 600V PVC insulated wire was 92.16 kJ/mol, and 600v heat-resistant PVC insulated wire was 97.52 kJ/mol. Consequently, the activation energy of 600V heat-resistant PVC insulated wire is larger than 600V PVC insulated wire. Therefore, it can be predicted that 600V heat-resistant PVC insulated wire has a long-term stability relatively.

  • Because of internal voids in insulators give rise to partial discharge(PD), which cause local breakdown and even entire insulation breakdown. Treeing due to PD is one of the main causes of breakdown of the insulating materials and nrluction of the insulation life. 1berefore the necessity for establishing a rrethod to diagnose the aging of insulation materials and to predict the breakdown of insulation has becorne irrportant. From this viewpoint, our studies diagnose insulation degradation using the rrethod of computer sensing system, which has PD and acoustic emission(AE) sensing system. To use advantages of these two methods can be used effectiveiy to search for treeing location and PD in sorre materials. In analysis rrethod of degradation, we analyzed the PD and AE pulses by regression analysis, corrpared to these obtained the correlation coefficient and retermination coefficient by T-distribution and saw that PD and AE pulses show a similar pattern on the whole. This has a similar teIlrency to the results of the research by Yoshimura and Fujita.Fujita.

  • In this paper, insulations characteristics by temperature changes($+30{\sim}-40[^{\circ}C]$) of $SF_6$ gas in the experimental chamber were studied. From this result, The breakdown characteristics classify the vapor stage of $SF_6$ according the Paschen's law, the gas & liquid coexisted stage of voltage value increases & much deviation and the VB low stage as the interior of chamber gets filled with mixture of $SF_6$ that are not liquefacted and remaining air which couldn't be ventilated. In addition the ability of insulation of liquid $SF_6$ was higher than that of the highly pressurized $SF_6$ gas. In this research, we want to provide the base data on designing insulation of high-temperature superconductor and the cryogenic equipments by investigating the insulation characteristics of $SF_6$.

Study on Leakage Current and Insulation Resistance Effect of Temperature and Humidity (온도, 습도의 누설전류와 절연저항 영향 연구)

  • It was found that temperature and humidity did not affect the leakage current since the leakage current was irregularly increased or decreased at a temperature of $22^{\circ}C$ to $32^{\circ}C$ and a humidity of 60.0% to 96.0%. The insulation resistance in the vicinity of $26^{\circ}C$ was $10.70M{\Omega}$ to $4,000.00M{\Omega}$ and was low from $9.10M{\Omega}$ to $1,000.00M{\Omega}$ before and after $26^{\circ}C$. As the humidity was increase in a range of 60%~96%, the insulation resistance was reduced from $4,000.00M{\Omega}$ to $4.80M{\Omega}$, which indicates that the temperature and humidity had an influence on the insulation resistance. The leakage current and the insulation resistance of the branch circuit to the cooking facilities were compliant with less than 1.00 mA and more than $0.20M{\Omega}$. Leakage current of 1.89 mA was non-compliant but the insulation resistance was compliant with the value of $65.00M{\Omega}$.

A Study on the Insulation Characteristics of Epoxy Composites Using Electric Field Simulation

  • In this paper, we aimed to identify the insulation characteristics and reliability of Epoxy composites, which are widely used as insulation material for electrical & electronic components and electric appliance. To this end, it was necessary to predict variations of electric field due to the distribution of fillers that must be added by economic and mechanical factors. So, we verified the result using an electric field analysis Simulator. Furthermore, under the condtion of DC voltage application, an dielectirc breakdown test was performed according to ambient temperature changes and the distribution of fillers, and the changes were observed. Three types of specimens were manufactured by adding 0, 50 and 100[phr] filling to Epoxy resin. In all specimens, as temperature was increased, the strength of the dielectric strength was decreased. When comparing the simulation results with the actual dielectric breakdown test results, we was able to confirm the technical applicability required for Insulation design of electric appliance.

  • 인구의 증가로 인한 전력수요의 증가는 가공 및 지중 송진설비의 대용량화로 이어져왔다. 그러나 최근 도시 경관과 전자파로 인한 건강 등에 대한 관심이 급증하면서 주거지 주변 송전선로 실리에 대한 민원이 증가하고 있다 을에 대한 대안으로 대용량 전력송전이 가능하고 가공 및 지중송전의 단점을 보완한 가스결연 송전선로(Gas Insulated Transmission Line, GIL)가 개발되었다. 선진국에서는 가스 절연으로 우수한 절연성능과 안정성을 가지며, 기존 교통용 터널 또는 지하 전력구에 설치함으로써 주변 경관을 해치지 않고 낮은 전계 형성 등의 장점을 가진 가스절연송전선로의 연구와 개발에 많은 노력 기울이고 있다[$1{\sim}5$]. 본 논문에서는 전력기기들의 결함진단에 많이 사용되는 부분방전 측정을 가스절연 송전선로에 적용할 수 있는 최적의 측정용 센서를 개발하여 유사한 구조를 가지는 75kV GIS Mock-up과 Free moving particle 모의 방전 셀을 이용하여 발생시킨 부분방전 신호를 측정하여, 광대역 특성을 보이는 대수주기 패치 안테나와의 성능을 비교하였다.

Breakdown Characteristics of a Model Power Line in the Presence of Combustion Flame (연소화염 존재 시 모델 전력선의 절연파괴 특성)

  • The results of an experimental investigation into the breakdown characteristics of a model power line in the presence of oil flame are reported under the application of 60[Hz] ac and dc high-voltages. It is appeared that flame can reduce by more than half, 80[%] in maximum, the breakdown voltage with the case of h=0 under ac and dc applications. Taking a horizontal model line with a k=0.5 of flame position, it can be seen from the results that the reduction of flashover levels, in comparison with the no-flame case, are 78.6[%] for h=0[cm], 59.7[%] for h=3[cm], 46.9[%] for h=6[cm], 41.5[%] for h=9[cm] and 35.4[%] for h=12[cm] when ac voltage is applied.

  • Aging and failure of motor insulation depend on the stresses imposed on it. The insulation life time depends on the severity of the stresses. The electrical aging by transient surge is very important to traction motor in EMU(electric multiple unit). This paper presents the insulation characteristics of stator coil by transient surge from inverter. There are several nondestructive tests available for checking the condition of motor insulation, the probable extent of aging, and the rate of which aging is taking place. So the insulation characteristics of stator coil were each analyzed by measurement of leakage current, dielectric loss(tan $\delta$), capacitance, polarization index(PI) and partial discharge. The method of diagnosis is able to analyze the aging condition and predict the life of the traction motor in EMU.
