  • 반도체 산업계에 있어서 IC 등을 주류로 하는 마이크로칩의 생산성 및 성능이 현저히 성장하여 많은 경제효과를 가져오고 있다. 이와함께 전자부품에 사용되어지는 취성재료의 종류 및 그양도 점점 증가하는 추세이다. 이러한 취성재료의 절단에는 초극박의 다이야몬드 브레이드가 널리 사용되어지고 있다. 실리콘웨이퍼와 같은 취성재료의 다이싱가공에서 문제가 되고있는것은 칩핑과 사행현상의 발생이다. 사행현상의 원인으로서는 브레이드축면의 비대칭성,절삭날의 둔화,숫돌축과 이송방향의 위치결정오차,후렌지 단면의 흔들림등을 들수 있다. 그러나, 사행의 발생영역과 사행이 계속되는 이유에 대해서는 전혀 검토되어진바 없는것이 현실이다. 본 연구에서는 다이싱가공시의 사행현상에 주목해서 사행현상의 발생영역을 명확하게 함과 동시에 AE 센서를 이용하여 인프로세서로 사행현상의 검출방법을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

Cutting characteristics of in situ toughened $SiC-Si_3N_4$ composite (현장인화 $SiC-Si_3N_4$ 복합재료의 절삭성능 평가)

  • It is known that Si$_3$N$_4$ceramic insert has less hardness than A1$_2$O$_3$ceramic insert. But Si$_3$N$_4$ceramic insert has not only high toughness and strength but also low thermal expansion coefficient, which makes it has longer tool life under thermal stress condition. In this study, commercial Si$_3$N$_4$ ceramic insert and home-made SiC-Si$_3$N$_4$ceramic insert which has different sintering time and chemical composition is tested under various cutting conditions. The experimental result is compared in terms of tool life and cutting force. Generally, As the cutting speed and the feed rate increased, the cutting force and the flank wear increased too. The performance of SiC-Si$_3$N$_4$ceramic insert shows the possibility to be a new ceramic tool.

  • In industrially advanced countries, environmentally conscious machining was eagerly studied because of ecological and economical reasons. As the environmental regulations become stricter, the new machining technologies which take environmental aspects into consideration are being developed. Recently the research institutions have established application method for dry, semi-dry, oil-mist and compressed cold air machining. In this paper the performance of new compressed cold air system for environmentally conscious machining is investigated and machinability of dry and new compressed cold air machining is evaluated. A series of tests are carried out by using measuring equipments in condition of dry and compressed cold air machining.

  • Rotary bar was cutting tool being in use for deburring scale after welding metal and for eliminating sharp edges. It was necessary to develop exclusive 6-axis machine being possible to process machining continuously for making an cutting edge of rotary bar and to revise easily machining program. This study aimed at the structural analysis of strength according to the configuration of new made 6-axis machine and at the machining accuracy and durability of rotary bar. As a result of test, the runout of new rotary bar manufactured out of 6-axis machine was decreased from 0.385 mm to 0.027mm extensively than old one. And good cutting ability and durability was obtained equal quality compared with imported products.

Development of One-Pass Rice Whitener with Cutting Blades of Hard Metal (초경날식 절삭형 완패스정미기의 개발)

  • A one-pass rice whitener with hard metal blades was developed to solve the problems of the existing one-pass rice whitener. The developed one-pass rice whitener was tested and improved through various milling experiments. It showed high performance such as the capacity of 3.5 t/h, the energy consumption of $1.0 kWh/100kg$, milled rice recovery of 91.6%, broken rice rate of 2.2%, the crack rate of 1.9% at the 750 rpm of the roller shaft, compared with those other domestic and foreign one-pass rice whiteners. Especially, it could whiten broun rice of high moisture (16~l7%) with water sprayed at low internal pressure of less than $0.2 kg/cm^2$ and low temperature due to the characteristics of the cutting part composed of 24 hard metal blades. The developed one-pass rice whitener was industrilized and distributed to some rice processing complexs in one fourth price compared with that of imported one-pass rice whiteners.

  • In this study, the prediction on the quality of tools after coating process has been investigated. Under different coating conditions, cutting resistances have been obtained and analyzed with a tool dynamometer to provide optimized coating conditions. The optimized coating conditions Lhave been computed with the most effective factors found by S/N ratio of Taguchi method. To evaluate the influence of the factors on cutting efficiency through the minimum of number of experiment times, the way of neural network design using Taguchi method has been employed.

  • Fully dense THCN) based carbonitride ceramics were fabricated by pressureless sintering. During sintering, solid solutions were formed from the ceramic ingredients. The ceramics exhibited microvickers hardness of 1560-2050kgf/mm2, fracture toughness of 3.0-5.4 MPa $m^(1/2)$, and three point flexural strength of 645-1072 MPa. Some of the ceramics were shaped in a cutting tool, and the cutting performance was evaluated. In case of cutting SCM440 alloy steel, the ceramics showed better performance than the commercially available alumina-titanium carbide ceramic cutting tool. Considering the excellent productivity of pressureless sintering compared with other densification methods and their cutting performance, this new class of ceramics are very promising for wear resistant applications.

  • Generally, in machining operations, the required machining performance can be obtained by properly combining several machining parameters properly. In this research, we construct a simulation model, which that predicts the relationship between the input variables and output variables in the turning operation. Input variables necessary for the turning operation include cutting speed, feed, and depth of cut. Surface roughness and electrical current consumption are used as the output variables. To construct the simulation model, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is employed. With theIn ANN, training is necessary to find appropriate weights, and the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) technique is used as a training tool. EspeciallyIn particular, for the continuous domain, ACOR is adopted and athe related algorithm is developed. Finally, the effects of the algorithm on the results are identified and analyzsed.
