  • This study observes innovation demand in design education according to IT environment in change, and explores reasonable directivity of design education according to fluctuations in media and technologies by presenting academic possibility of interactive design field and its education paradigms for universities. In order to achieve highly added values through interactive design complying with social demand, accompanying researches and academic frames are to be prepared, in particular with independent academic domain frame in universities, this study presents an educational directivity by recognizing important establishments of related curriculum that must be proceeded. This study has made a contribution in addressing the necessity of establishment of individual academic domain for interactive design and also setting up the domain of interactive design. It has been concluded that technological understanding beyond conventional design education, management of complex issues in consideration, and methodology of differentiated education in corresponding to the situation needed as well as typical educations of conventional technologies should be provided for satisfying innovation demand in the domain of interactive design.

  • Even though the 7th national curriculum based on learner-centered instruction as fundamental spirit has been operated for 10 years or so, still the instruction style nation widely implemented in current classrooms is closer traditional style than it. It is a big challenge for a teacher who is used to a traditional one to try to fully make learner-centered instruction. The paper describes the teacher's cognizance change on it with the point of views of children's ability to construct knowledge, instructional materials, questioning techniques, and children's achievements.

  • We investigated youth's awareness of traditional clothing culture in order to promote it, and we developed and applied the Teaching-Learning process related to clothing life chapters. We analyzed 12 types of high school freshman textbooks under the revised $7^{th}$ national curriculum and selected 5 major subjects of learning 'traditional culture', 'History of Han-bok', 'colors of Han-bok', 'pattern & material of Han-bok', 'globalization of Han-bok' related to 'change of home life & culture' chapter. Also we developed 5-period Teaching-Learning Lesson Plan and 48-teaching materials(22 for students, 22 - for classes, 4 for teachers) and applied it to usual classes. The mean score of youth's awareness of traditional clothing culture in the post-test was significantly higher than in the pre-test. We concluded it was highly efficient in the youth's awareness of traditional clothing culture as right awareness about traditional clothing life culture, acceptance of foreign culture, positive attitude in traditional culture. Awareness about traditional clothing culture education was improved significantly, so we recognized importance of traditional culture education through it. We suggest that various themes on traditional culture should be developed and more reinforced. Also we need various traditional culture succession research as field of food life, house life and study Korea's cultural heritage.

  • Objectives : This study aimed to overview the current education status of a traditional medicine by medical schools in Japan. Methods : We surveyed the literatures regarding a traditional medicine education in Japan, and get the information via email-interview with an officer of medical schools in Japan as well as from their websites. Results : Japan's education ministry presented the appropriateness of education for traditional medicine to medical students in 2001, and most of medical schools begun to set up the classes in Japan. We received the detail information of the traditional medicine education from 21 medical schools. Nineteen colleges(approximately 90%) of those have the regular classes for traditional medicine while two colleges don't have the education program for the traditional medicine. Most of medical schools have single class for introduction of traditional medicine, and have average $16.2{\pm}8.8$ hours during the $4^{th}$ grade(61.9%). Conclusions : We presented the general feature of education for traditional medicine in Japan, and this result would be basic information for an establishment of a strategy regarding the enhancement of national competitiveness of traditional Korean medicine.

  • After Protestant missionaries delivered the gospel to Korea in the 1880s, Korean Protestantism has pursued qualitative growth following quantitative growth. Pastors and scholars are continuing their efforts for qualitative growth in various fields such as theology, ministry, social participation, ethics, education, counseling, history, and spirituality. Prayer has been a significant spiritual resource and method in the history and for the faith of Korean Protestant churches. Historical and theoretical research on Korean Protestant prayer traditions has been continuously performed, and it is time to re-establish and renew the prayer traditions for the new generation and context of the Protestant churches. In this historical time, it is necessary to summarize the Korean Protestant prayer traditions and describe their significance for the change of Korean Protestantism and its prayer education. This study analyzes the characteristic elements of the Korean Protestant prayer tradition and discusses its significance in the church and Christian education. In addition, it analyzes the cause and background of the establishment of a specific prayer element in Korean Protestantism and describes the relationship with the topics currently being emerged. Through the research on the prayer traditions, this study reflects on the meaning of the Korean Protestant prayer tradition to Christian education and discusses the content, method, and purpose of future education in relation to Korean Protestant prayer. This study argues that prayer education should be conducted from the perspective of Christian history and tradition as a whole with understanding the characteristics of Korean Protestant prayer traditions and the educational and non-educational elements of prayer.

  • Widespread recognition of the various aspects of science education has been prompted by post-positivist philosophers' discussions of the nature of science and intense debates among constructivist psychologists about learning in science. Their discussions and debates, in turn, have raised the problems associated with teaching/learning of science in the schools. The purpose of this article, basically based on the reviews and analyses of the literature related to philosophy of science and psychology, was to describe the implications of post-positivism and constructivism for current science education in the schools. In this paper, the author defines science education as education of/about science, and education through/by science. He also stresses that scientific literacy and decision-making should be emphasized as the goals of science education, that the ethical dimensions of science and technology must be included in science curriculum, that group discussion and/or cooperative learning are effective teaching strategy for science as interpreted by post-positivists and constructivists, and that the assessment should be focused on the degree to which cognitive structure has been changed through instruction in the school classrooms.
