저궤도 위성 지상기능시험 결과분석을 통한 별추적기 건정성 확인

  • 위성은 발사 후 임무수행을 위하여 필수적인 자세정보를 획득해야 한다. 별 추적기는 궤도상에서 별의 위치를 파악하여 상대적인 위성의 위치를 확인하는 데에 사용하는 감지기이다. 별 추적기는 태양, 지구, 달 등의 광원으로부터 오는 빛을 차단해 주는 시야각제한기(baffle), 광학계소자(CCD) 및 렌즈, 열제어소자(cooler) 그리고 전원 및 전자박스 등으로 구성된다. 위성은 발사 전 조립시험 기간 동안 전자파, 진동, 열/진공 등의 환경시험 통하여 수차례의 성능 유무를 확인한다. 이 환경시험 전과 후에는 위성의 모든 전장품의 기능시험을 수행하여, 각 전장품의 환경영향 유무를 판별한다. 특히 벌 추적기 관련시험으로, 광학계 성능 검증을 위한 광학적 자극시험과 전자박스의 구동확인을 위한 전자박스 점검시험이 있다. 본 논문에서는 지상에서 수행한 별 추적기의 기능시험 결과를 분석하여 건정성 동향을 분석하였다.

Boundary and Flat Area Estimation of Circuit Elements in Conformal Coated PCB (Conformal Coating 된 PCB에서 회로 소자의 경계면과 평탄면 영역 추정)

  • 자동차에서 전장부품이 차지하는 비중이 증가하고 있다. 그런데 전장부품이 증가하면서 전자제어장치의 오작동으로 인한 사고 및 인명손실의 위험이 커졌다. 자동차 환경에서 발생하는 진동, 열기, 습기, 전자파를 차단하여 전장부품의 안정성을 확보와 위험을 최소화하기 위해 자동차 OEM에서는 Conformal Coating 기술을 적용하는 것이 일반적이다. Conformal Coating된 PCB 회로의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해서는 코팅 과정에서 발생하는 기포를 억제해야 한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 기포가 발생한 경우에는 해당 PCB를 폐기하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 코팅된 PCB에서 발생한 기포를 자동으로 검사하기 위한 전처리 과정으로서 검사 소자의 경계면과 평탄면 영역을 추정/분할하는 영상처리 알고리즘을 제안한다. 코팅 기포의 특성이 소자의 경계면과 평탄면에서 매우 다르게 나타나므로 효율적인 기포 검출을 위해서 영역 분할은 필수적인 전처리 과정이다.

Customer Willingness to Use Smart Grid Services in Home (스마트 그리드 서비스에 대한 고객 수용도 분석)

  • Customers can monitor electricity use in real time in smart grid(ICT is grafted onto current grid), so various beneficial services can be provided to customer. We did a qualitative survey, HV(Home Visit) and FGD(Focus Group Discussion), in order to derive customer's cognition of using electricity in home and values that customers consider significantly and a quantitative survey in order to know willingness to use. Customers consider electricity indispensible for using home appliances, want to use safely far from electromagnetic waves, short circuit and electronic shock. Also, customers want to save energy conveniently with no stress. Customers want 'a function', 'information', 'motivation' for energy saving, and 'electromagnetic waves cutting', 'to prevent electronic shock', 'to prevent short circuit' for safe electricity use. In this study, we derived 4 services - energy monitoring, standby power cutting, remote control, energy consulting - based on customer values and unmet needs, which is connected to home network that customers can monitor total and each appliance's electricity usage in real time and control home appliances. The willingness to use of services is over 60% and especially energy monitoring and standby power cutting service have high willingness to use rate, about 80%.

Design of a Half-Circle Shape UWB Antenna (반원 형태의 UWB 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, a planar half-circle shape ultra-wideband(UWB) antenna fed by CPW is designed, fabricated and measured for UWB communications. Within the UWB band(3.1 GHz${\~}$10.6 GHz), 5.15 GHz${\~}$5.825 GHz frequency band is used by IEEE 802.1la WLAN applications. It may be necessary to notch out this band to avoid interference with IEEE 802.1la WLAN. Therefore, we have proposed three kinds of UWB antennas having a notch function, such as a rectangular slot, a hat-shaped slot a circle-shaped slot. The notch frequency of the proposed antenna can be adjusted by controlling the slot length or slot width. From the measured results, the proposed antennas show a good gain flatness except the IEEE 802.1la WLAN frequency band and have a reasonable agreement with simulated results.

A Design of Spurious-Reduced CPW Low-Pass Filter Based on Defected Ground Structure (고조파 제거 특성을 갖는 DGS 형태의 CPW 저역 통과 여파기의 설계)

  • In this paper, a CPW lowpass filter with the spurious-reduced characteristic is designed by using DGS(Defected Ground Structures). By cascading two lowpass filters with different harmonic characteristics the spurious is reduced below - 15 dB. Additionally by combining a dumbbell shaped DGS to the filter we achieved a satisfactory spurious level of less than -25 dB to above three times cutoff frequency without any repeated passband. The fabricated LPF shows a compact size of $17.2mm{\times}6.8mm$, a cutoff frequency of 6 GHz, and a sharp skirt response of 7-order with two notch frequencies. The measured frequency responses agree well with simulated ones.

Design of Miniaturized Microwave Amplifier Using Capacitively-Coupled Match Circuit(CCMC) under Conditionally Stable State (조건 안정 상태에서의 용량성 결합 정합 회로를 이용한 소형 마이크로파 증폭기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In the paper, we suggest a simpler synthesis technique for capacitively-coupled match circuit(CCMC) which have a function of DC block and impedance matching simultaneously, and introduce a stability margin analysis technique for designing microwave amplifier under conditionally stable state. Stability margin analysis is used to determine optimum match point that ensure maximum gain under the given stability margin. It can reduce time consuming work for selecting match points in the conditionally stable state. Also, suggested miniaturization scheme of matching network is distinguished from previous work with respect to reducing deterministic parameters for CCMC synthesis. To verify utility of suggested method, 24 GHz gain block is fabricated under conditionally stable state using an internal thin-film fabrication process, Measured results show a stable gain of 10 dB and flatness of 1 dB, which is well coincident with simulated one.

A Design of Generalized Chebyshev LPF Using Defected Ground Structure (결함 기저면 구조를 이용한 일반화된 체비셰프 저역 통과 필터 설계)

  • In this paper, we investgate variation of phase and magnitude characteristics which become different as the variables of DGS are changed and propose the new method to easily decide the best optimum DGS pattern taking advantage of this trend. Generalized Chebyshev(GC) low pass filter(LPF) is designed by using DGS obtained from this method GC DGS LPF is more available for filter application than Chevyshev DGS LPF because GC LPF have parallel resonators as series circuits, therefore unlikely Chebyshev LPF, transform step of the series elements can be omitted. By using the proposed method, GC DGS LPF(N=5) and as a subject of comparison, conventional Chbyshev LPF(N=7) are designed and implementation. From the comparison of the measured data, we confirmed that the implemented GC DGS 5th order LPF have much better cutoff characteristics and reduce by 0.58 times size, on the other hand the stop bandwidth become widen about 1.57 times or more in comparison with the conventional Chevyshev 7th order LPF.

Study on the Electromagnetic Wave Propagation In the Parallel-Plate Waveguide with the Metamaterial ENZ Tunnel Embedded (Metamaterial ENZ 터널이 포함된 평행 평판 도파관 내 전자기파의 전파 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper discusses how to change the electromagnetic waves' property in the cut-off causing discontinuity existing in the guiding structure of the RF passive component by using the metamaterial and elaborates on its principle. Particularly, we find and explain, from the viewpoint of electromagnetics and circuit theories, the so-called tunneling condition that when the segment with an extremely narrow cross-section leading to blockage in the parallel-plate waveguide is given the ENZ(Epsilon Near Zero) for its filling material, the wave starts to propagate through the segment. The analysis method as a transmission-line theory taking the discontinuity and material change into consideration is shown valid through the comparison with other methods for analyzing parallel-plate waveguides, and provides the illustration of the S-parameters and impedance describing the characteristics of the tunneling.

Composite Right/Left Handed(CRLH) Transmission Line with Controllable Transmission Zeros (제어 가능한 전송 영점을 갖는 CRLH 전송 선로)

  • In this paper, a novel CRLH-TL unit cell with controllable transmission zeros was proposed. Proposed composite right/left handed transmission line(CRLH-TL) unit cell is implemented in the form of the metal-insulator-metal(MIM) capacitors, the microstrip stub inductors, and the co-planar waveguide(CPW) inductor. And this proposed CRLH-TL generates two transmission zeros in lower/upper passband by the effort of electromagnetic couplings between each MIM capacitors and microstrip stub inductors. Using this proposed CRLH-TL, broad bandpass filter for UWB system was designed and fabricated. The measured results reveal that the two transmission zeros are observed in lower/upper passband and the overall size of the filter, excluding the feed line is about 8 mm$\times$8 mm, less then $\lambda_g$/4 on electric size.

Modified Hairpin Filters Improving the Suppression Performance of Stop-Band (저지 대역 제거 특성을 향상시킨 변형된 헤어핀 여파기)

  • In this paper, a new hairpin type strip-line BPF(Band Pass Filter) improving the suppression performance of unwanted frequency signal is studied. A modified hairpin filter is designed by classical hairpin filter design methodology and is realized by newly placing structure of designed filter. And a newly formed coupled-line effects between modified bilateral symmetry structures make the transmission zeros. Each transmission zeros can shift its frequency to wanted frequency by tuning a certain part of filter. To investigate the validity of this novel technique, an order-5 Chebyshev BPF centered at 9.2 GHz with a 15 % FBW(fractional bandwidth) were used. According to design and measurement results, a good performance of insertion loss of 0.8 dB and unwanted signal suppression of maximum 50 dB is achieved at full input/output ports.
