This study explored the essence of psychological burnout experiences due to emotional contagion using a hermeneutic phenomenological approach. In-depth interviews were conducted on 9 participants who work in fields that are subject to emotional contagion. Data analysis was conducted by using van Manen's methodology, insisting that the pure description of an experience can be enriched by adding interpretation. The emotional contagion experiences were identified through this process and the findings were categorized into 3 core themes, 8 essential themes, and 35 subthemes. The first core theme is "emotions in constant exchange". This theme included two essential themes: 'various channels of emotional contagion' and 'subjective states that change depending on the transmitted emotions'. The second core theme, "filtering the experience of emotional contagion" included the essential themes of 'the characteristics susceptible to the emotions of others', 'attitudes of spreading negative emotions' and 'situations that makes one feel overwhelmed by emotions'. The final core theme, "from burnout by emotional contagion to communication" was categorized into the following essential themes: 'burnout-inducing entangled interactions', 'moving toward communication and connection' and 'recovery after psychological burnout'. Finally, the implications and suggestions for future research were discussed by summarizing the core contents of each themes.

We propose methodology to analyze the dynamic mechanisms of financial market contagion under market integration using a biological contagion analytical approach. We employ U-statistic to measure market integration, and a dynamic model based on an error correction mechanism (single equation error correction model) and latent factor model to examine market contagion. We also use quantile regression and Wald-Wolfowitz runs test to test market contagion. This methodology is designed to effectively handle heteroscedasticity and correlated errors. Our simulation results show that the single equation error correction model fits well with the linear regression model with a stationary predictor and correlated errors.

Many reliable group communication algorithms were presented to satisfy predetermined message ordering properties in small or medium-scale distributed systems. However, the previous algorithms with their strong reliability properties may be unappropriate for large-scale systems. To address this issue, some epidemic-style group communication algorithms were proposed for considerably improving scalability while guaranteeing the reasonably weaker reliability property than the existing ones. The algorithms are all designed for ensuring the atomic order message delivery property. But, some distributed applications such as multimedia systems and collaborative work, may require only the weaker message ordering property, i.e., causal order delivery. This paper proposes an efficient epidemic-style group communication algorithm ensuring causal order delivery to provide the indigenous scalability of the epidemic-style approach.

최근에 여러 전염성 질병들로 인해 종계의 생산성에 많은 피해를 주어 육계 품질에도 영향을 미치고 있다. 이런 상황에서 뉴캣슬병, 저병원성 인플루엔자, 전염성 기관지염 등 몇몇 특정 질병에만 관심이 집중되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 하지만 최근에 육계와 종계에서 이런 질병들 이외에 실제로 다양한 신종 질병들이 발생해 축산농가가 피해를 입고 있다. 불행히도 이러한 신종 질병들에 대해서는 기존의 전염성 질병들에 의한 피해에 가려져 있어 정확한 이해 없이 방관하거나 왜곡되고 있는 실정이다. 양계산업에서 특히 수의 분야에서 신종 질병들에 대한 정확한 이해를 바탕으로 한 치료 및 예방 대책의 수립은 무엇보다 중요하다. 이런 질병들 중 하나가 'ORT'이다. 필자는 이번 기회에 ORT에 대한 정확한 이해를 위해 지면을 빌려 자세히 소개하고자 한다

어류의 대량폐사의 원인은 여러 가지가 있을 수 있는데 가장 중요한 것 중의 하나가 바이러스 감염에 의한 것이다. 우리나라 송어양식의 경우, 바이러스성 질병에 의한 대량폐사가 발생하여 매년 수천만마리의 치어가 폐사되어 왔는데 이 질병의 원인을 조사한 결과, 전염성 췌장 괴사 바이러스(Infectious Pencreatic Necrosis Virus ; IPNV)와 전염성 조혈기 괴사 바이러스(Infectious Hematopoietic Necrosis Virus ; IHNV)가 분리되어 이들의 대량폐사의 병원체임읠 밝혀내었다. 따라서 본 총설에서는 연어과 어류중 양식 대상종인 무지개송어 양식시 전염성과 병원성이 강해 치어기에 들어 대량폐사를 유발시키는 IHNV에 대해 최근 연구 결과를 중심으로 바이러스 분리 및 동정, 신속진단, 바이러스 백신 기초 기술 개발순으로 기술하고자 한다.

질병에도 유행이 있을까? 한동안 농장의 두려움이었던 ND가 요즘은 흔하게 보이지 않는다. 사람들의 관심사도 점점 다양화되고, 질병들도 더 다양화되는 것일까? 아니면 새로운 질병이 나타나고 유행처럼 번지다가 사라지는 것일까? 2008년부터 회자되고 관심이 되었던 질병 중에 아데노바이러스, 뉴모바이러스, 닭 전염성 빈혈증에 대한 관심이 높아졌다. 실제로 질병발생이 증가했고, 직접적인 피해도 있었다. 이러한 질병들이 문제가 되었던 이유를 생각해보면 방역수준의 향상이 원인이 될 수 있다. 아이러니컬하게도 방역수준이 높아지면서 기본적인 전염성 질병이 사라지고 난계대 문제가 되는 질병들과 선진국형 질병들이 눈에 띄기 시작하는 것이다. 오히려 계사가 오염되어 어린 일령에 질병에 노출되었다면 산란 중에 감염되어 난계대를 일으키지 않았던 것이 예전의 상황이었다. 또한 종계의 경우 육성사와 성계사의 방역수준이 차이가 있을 때 이런 질병들은 더욱 문제를 일으킬 수 있다. 예를 들어 방역수준이 높은 육성사에서 질병에 노출되지 않은 닭이 성계사에서 감염이 되는 상황이 문제를 더 크게 만들었다. 본고에서는 육계에서 문제가 되었던 닭 전염성 빈혈에 대해서 알아 보고자 한다.
