The MAC protocol of HiperLAN/2 is based on TDMA/TDD. The radio channels are assigned by AP(Access Point) that is centrally operated. Mobile terminal that data transmission is necessary to uplink requests radio resource to AP through RCH channel. The changing number of RCHs in each MAC frame is important because too many RCHs may result in a waste of radio resources and too few RCHs may result in many access collisions and prolong time that connect to AP. Therefore, number of RCH should be allocated properly according to traffic. From these viewpoint, this paper proposes an advanced scheme that dynamically changed the number of RCH which is based on the number of success and collision of RR message in previous MAC frame. To prove efficiency of proposed scheme, a lots of simulations are conducted and analyzed.

Recently, radio frequency energy transfer (RFET) attracts more and more interests for powering sensor nodes in the wireless sensor network (WSN). In the conventional WSN, reducing energy consumption of sensor nodes is of primary importance. On the contrary, in the WSN with RFET, reducing energy consumption is not an important issue. However, in the WSN with RFET, the energy harvesting rate of each sensor node depends on its location, which causes the unbalanced available energy among sensor nodes. Hence, to improve the performance of the WSN with RFET, it is important to develop network protocols considering this property. In this paper, we study this issue with jointly considering routing, scheduling, and power control in the WSN with RFET. In addition, we study this issue with considering two different objectives: 'Max-min' with which we tries to maximize the performance of a sensor node having the minimum performance and 'Max-min fairness' with which we tries to achieve max-min fairness among sensor nodes. We show that our solutions can improve network performance significantly and we also discuss the differences between 'Max-min' and 'Max-min fairness'.

Communications for mobile sink groups such as rescue teams or platoons bring about a new challenging issue for handling mobility in wireless sensor networks. To do this, many studies have been proposed to support mobile sink groups. When closely looking at mobile sink groups, they can be divided into (multiple) small groups according to the property of applications. For example, a platoon can be divided into multiple squads to carry out its mission in the battle field. However, the previous studies cannot efficiently support the division of mobile sink groups because they do not address three challenging issues engendered by the mobile sink group division. The first issue is to select a leader sink for a new small mobile sink group. The efficient data delivery from a source to small mobile sink groups is the second issue. Last, the third issue is to share data between leader sinks of small mobile sink groups. Thus, this paper proposes a routing protocol to efficiently support the division of mobile sink groups by solving the three challenging issues. For the first issue, the proposed protocol selects a leader sink of a new small mobile sink group which provide a minimum summation of the distance between the new leader sink and the previous leader sink and the distance from the new leader sink to all of its member sinks. For the efficient data delivery from a source to small mobile sink groups in the second issue, the proposed protocol determines the path to minimize the data dissemination distance from source to small mobile sink group by calculating with the location information of both the source and the leader sinks. With regard to the third issue, the proposed protocol exploits member sinks located among leader sinks to provide efficient data sharing among leaders sinks by considering the location information of member sinks. Simulation results verified that the proposed protocol is superior to the previous protocol in terms of the energy consumption.

KTX control systems mutually control OBCS, ATC, MBU, TECA, MDT, ABU, HVAC, TRAE, PID and FDTR, KTX OBCS as master, and controls other sub-control devices as slave, using various serial lines. In order to analyze physical structure of various serial link lines and mutual data transmission structure, serial line analyzer is used in many ways. To use serial line analyzer, prior and professional technics about High Speed Train and experience of using device are necessary. In spite of difficult situation of space and environment where we work for maintenance of High Speed Train, in presenting basic structure about physical connection method aquired by sub-device serial line data collection and about communication data analysis, I hope that this research will be helpful for the person who work for similar area. Also, I hope that this research will help diagnostic work of High Speed Train, which is necessary for test run of independently developed High Speed Train.
Recently advances in high-speed networks and multimedia computer technologies allow new types of multimedia applications to manipulate large volumes of multimedia data. However, in the real time and/or the heterogeneous data transmissions, there are many difficulties such as network transmission delay, the implementation difficulties, and so on. To solve these problems, in this paper, we extend the method of the multimedia service design which is proposed by OMG. To do this, we suggest an efficient real time audio/video stream framework, called Smart Explorer, based un CORBA and JMF Java Media API. And we separate the transmission path of control data from that of media data and use RTP/RTCP protocol for efficient real time audio/video transmission. Also we show the appropriate implementation of the audio/video stream system based on our suggested framework Smart Explorer. In the future, we expect our audio/video stream system to be applied to the real time communication software such as broadcasting, distance learning, and video conferencing.
Communication in wireless sensor networks comprising a plurality of sensor nodes located in an ad hoc environment is unidirectional in that data gathered by sensor nodes are transmitted to a sink node and not vice versa. In those networks, it is not possible for a server or a gateway to send commands to the sensor nodes to determine whether some previously received data are valid when the data indicate unusual conditions, which makes it difficult to make appropriate reactions to the unusual situations. This paper proposes and implements a TDMA-based sensor network communication protocol named BiWSLP(Bidirectional Wireless Sensor Line Protocol) supporting bidirectional communication capability. The BiWSLP is an extension of the WSLP, a unidirectional sensor network communication protocol based on the TDMA protocol. To test the feasibility of the proposed BiWSLP, we construct a virtual bridge management system capable of sending commands to sensor nodes as well as collecting data from the sensor nodes. Based on the test results of the virtual bridge management system, we show the applicability and advantages of the BiWSLP in terms of energy efficiency and bidirectional communication capability.

This paper describes a design of an adaptive baseband modem based on TDMA(time division multiple access) with a relay protocol function for wireless personal area networks. The designed baseband modem is controlled by a master synchronization signal and can be configured a relay network up to 14 hops. For efficient data relay communications, the internal buffer design is optimized by implementing a priority memory bus controller to a single port memory. And the priority memory bus controller is also designed to minimize the number of synthesized logic gates. To implement the synchronization function of the narrowband TDMA relay communication, the number of gates has been reduced by dividing the frame synchronization circuits and the network slot synchronization circuits. By using these methods, the number of gates are used about 37%(34,000 gates) on Xilinx FPGA XC6SLX9 which has 90,000 gates. For the 1024-bit frame size with a 32-bit synchronization word, the communication reception rate is 96.4%. The measured maximum transmission delay of the designed baseband modem is 230.4 msec for the 14-hop relay communication.
This dissertation proposes method for development technology of voice and SMS(Short Message Service) alarming system based on modbus protocol. The proposed technology is composed of the following 3 stages; hardware development based on microprocessor, development of input and output driver for modem, mp3 decoder, making modbus protocol stack. In the stage of hardware development based on microprocessor, we develop hardware which receives alarm from modbus master and transmit sms message, play mp3. In the stage of development of input / ouput device driver such as modem, mp3 decoder, we develop program which control each devices. In the stage of making modbus protocol stack, voice and sms alarm system is made for receiving alarm via modbus protocol. To evaluate performance of proposed technology, we issued alarm to voice and sms alarming system on purpose. As a result, response speed of detecting alarm was 10.7ms, communication distance was 1.2Km, operating temperature was from $-25^{\circ}C$ to $70^{\circ}C$, we confirmed supporting modbus protocol. And we verified that proposed voice and sms alarming system in the thesis has a performance to be used as an industrial building alarming system.

The Internet including mobile networks is developing to overcoming the limitation of physical distance and providing or acquiring information from remote locations. However, the systems that use video as primary information require higher bandwidth for recognizing the situation in remote places more accurately through high-quality video as well as lower latency for faster interaction between devices and users. The emergence of the 5th generation mobile network provides features such as high bandwidth and precise location recognition that were not experienced in previous-generation technologies. In addition, the Mobile Edge Computing that minimizes network latency in the mobile network requires a change in the traditional system architecture that was composed of the existing smart device and high availability server system. However, even with 5G and MEC, since there is a limit to overcome the mobile network state fluctuations only by enhancing the network infrastructure, this study proposes a high-definition video streaming system in ultra-low latency based on the SRT protocol that provides Forward Error Correction and Fast Retransmission. The proposed system shows how to deploy software components that are developed in consideration of the nature of 5G and MEC to achieve sub-1 second latency for 4K real-time video streaming. In the last of this paper, we analyze the most significant factor in the entire video transmission process to achieve the lowest possible latency.
Generally an increasing number of recent applications have found TCP too limiting. There are some characteristics in the transmission of document and binary data which some transmission delay are tolerant but the content must completely be transferred. However voice signals are more sensitive with not some packet loss but some transmission delay. Therefore, Stream Control Transmission Protocol(SCTP) is proposed to minimize the delay and packet loss in the field of delivery of voice signal. SCTP is designed to transport PSTN signalling messages over IP networks, but is capable of broader applications. In this paper, the architecture of SCTP implementation is designed and some interface of SCTP software library which are implemented are specified.
