서울대학교병원의 ESCO사업이 한창이다. 올해 말까지로 예정된 이 공사는 110V 전압을 220V로 전환하는 승압공사와 고효율 조명기기 교체사업이 동시에 이루어진다. 연간 약 1억6천만원 정도의 전력비 절감효과가 있을 것으로 기대되는 이번 사업은 병원을 이용하는 환자들의 불편을 최소화하기 위해 야간작업만 실시하기로 했다. 작업능률은 다소 떨어지더라도 환자를 먼저 생각하는 마음이 엿보인다.

만약 건물마다 엘리베이터가 없다면 우리 생활은 어떻게 될까? 고층건물을 걸어서 오르내려야 하는 불편함과 시간낭비, 그밖에도 생활의 제약을 많이 겪어야 할 것이다. 이처럼 우리에게 편리함을 주는 문명의 이기지만 안전관리를 소홀히 할 경우에는 소중한 생명을 위협하는 무기로 돌변한다. 이번 호 ''ESCO피플''에 초대한 최종성씨는 12년동안 성모병원의 승강기 관리담당자로서 병원내 승강기를 안전하고 편리하면서도 전력 손실을 줄일 수 있도록 효율적으로 관리하는데 노력해왔다.

치협은 치과의사전문의제도 시행을 앞두고 인턴 및 레지던트들이 수련병원에서 최소 필요충분하게 교육받아야 하는 과정을 도출해냈다. 이를 위해 치협은 치의전문의제를 실시하는 10개 분과학회의 대표를 중심으로 치과의사 전공의 수련병원(기관) 수련교육 표준화 작업 연구위원회를 구성하고 몇 차례의 논의 끝에 '치과의사 전공의 연차별 수련 교과과정'보고서를 완성했다. 보고서는 10개 분과학회별로 각 학회에서 논의를 거친 내용으로서 향후 치의전문의제를 실시하는데 있어서 전공의들의 연차별 수련 교과과정을 제시해 준다. 회원들의 이해를 돕기 위해 보고서의 전문을 게재한다.

2018 aged patient dataset (HIRA-APS), 33,821 patients admitted to long-term care hospitals were classified by major disease groups to identify the characteristics of medical use and provide effective policy data. First, it is necessary to operate specialized long-term care hospitals such as dementia, rehabilitation, hospice, and recovery specialization tailored to the characteristics of the patient's disease group. Second, the paralysis group, cerebrovascular disease group, and dementia group were the longest LOS and the cognitive impairment group is the longest by patient classification group, requiring medical demand and quality management for long-term patients. Third, the musculoskeletal disease group was the highest normal discharge, and support for the post-discharge home program is required in paralysis and cerebrovascular disease.

The falciform ligament is a hepatic suspensory ligament that extends from the umbilicus to the diaphragm, containing the ligamentum teres and a vestigial remnant of the umbilical vein. Among the rarely-occurring pathologies of the falciform ligament, which include ligament cyst, tumor, abnormal vascularization, and congenital ligament defect, a falciform ligament abscess is even more sporadic. Accordingly, the definitive diagnosis of the falciform ligament abscess is rather challenging and may easily be misinterpreted as an infected choledochal cyst or a liver abscess. We present a 25-day-old infant with the falciform ligament abscess, which developed after the umbilical venous catheter insertion and was successfully treated with percutaneous drainage and antibiotic administration.

It is essential to identify the causative artery in case of active intra-abdominal or gastrointestinal bleeding. A thorough understanding of the basic arterial anatomy is required to identify the causative artery on contrast-enhanced CT angiography and conventional catheter angiography. If one is familiar with the basic arterial anatomy, obtaining access to the bleeding artery will be easier, despite the variations in the origin and course of the vessels. We describe the basic arterial anatomy that will help beginners in diagnostic radiology to identify the blood vessels that can cause active intra-abdominal or gastrointestinal bleeding.

2008 Disability Discrimination Act was enacted, Web accessibility compliance has been carried out from April 11, 2013. Therefore, all of the institutions and corporations in 2015, must fulfill the compliance of Web accessibility. In this paper, research for Web accessibility of Geriatric Hospital, to raise the improvement. We have applied the K-WAH 4.4 as accessibility evaluation tool. The results were evaluated on the basis of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, it was very low.

성 안드레아 신경정신병원은 천주교 한국 순교복자 수도회가 1990년에 현 주소지인 경기도 이천시 마장면 표교리에 개원한 한국 최초의 개방형 정신과 전문병원이다. 이 땅에 가톨릭교회가 전래된 이후 여러 차례의 박해로 인해 우리의 선조들에게 엄청난 정신적 고통을 안겨 주었던 시기가 있었고, 우리가 살아가는 현대사회에는 신앙의 자유가 있지만 유무형의 사회 악현상에 의하여 삶이 황폐해지고 쫓기는 삶을 살고 있는가 하면 정치, 경제, 사회 등의 이유로 정신적 질환자는 매년 증가하고 있는 상황이다. 이런 환경 속에서 과거의 순교자들을 현양한다는 것과 아울러 우리사회의 부정적인 현상으로 인해 발생하는, 정신적인 치료를 요하는 사람들을 돕고 치료하는 것은 순교자 현양이라는 복자수도회의 창설 목적이다.

‘도서관탐방’팀은 가급적 모든 관종의 도서관을 골고루 소개하려고 한다. 그런데 지난 1월 이 지면이 신설된 이후 아직 가보지 못한 관종이 특수도서관이었다. 병영도서관 또는 점자도서관은 언론 등에서도 자주 다루어지고 있어 우선 순위를 교도소도서관 또는 환자도서관에 두었는데 알고 보니 교도소도서관은 여러 여건상 일반인이 접근하기 어려웠다. 관종 구분을 하는 경우 병원(의학)도서관은 전문도서관으로 분류된다. 하지만 병원 입원 환자들에게도 일부 서비스를 제공하고 있는 경우에는 특수도서관의 목적을 조금이나마 수행하고 있는 곳이라 할 수 있다. 전문이용자용 ‘맞춤형 교육’ 제공에서 환자용 ‘병실이동문고’ 운영에 이르기까지 병원 모든 가족들의 정보 ‧ 문화 ‧ 복지의 종합센터 역할을 책임지고 있는 삼성의학정보센터를 이번에 다녀왔다.

In this article, three cases of speciality hospitals, Songdo hospital, Bucheon Sejong Hospital, and Wooridul Hospital, are described and analyzed. They have shown outstanding performances and have high reputations. Success factors are drawn out from the cases: innovative founder, technological innovation, team medicine, and customer satisfaction. Implications and limitations are discussed, and suggestions for the future studies are suggested.
