Dual Mode-AODV for the Hybrid Wireless Mesh Network (하이브리드 무선 메시 네트워크를 위한 듀얼모드-AODV)

  • With the Development of Wireless Network Technology and Wireless Link Technology, Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is Attracting Attention as a Key Technology to Construct the Wireless Transit Network. The WMN has been Studied for a Long Time in Various Fields, however there are still many Problems that have not been solved yet. One of them is the Routing Problem to find an Optimal path in a Multi-hop Network Composed of Wireless Links. In the Hybrid-WMN, which is one of the Three Types of WMN, Optimal Path Selection Requires Research on Path Search Protocols that Effectively use the Infrastructure Mesh as a Transit Network, Together with Research for a Routing Metric with Excellent Performance. Therefore, this Paper Proposes a Dual Mode-AODV(Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector) for Hybrid-WMN. Simulation result shows that the Path Selection Delay was Reduced by 52% than AODV when the Proposed Dual Mode-AODV was applied.

Multiple Path Security-Aware Routing Protocol Mechanism for Ad Hoc Network (Ad Hoc 네트워크 라우팅 보안을 위한 다중경로 기반의 MP-SAR 프로토콜)

  • As pervious the SAR(Security Aware Routing)[10] protocol is an secure Ad Hoc network protocol that finds a secure path, it is the security routing protocol that uses the security level of nodes as the routing information. However, the SAR protocol sometimes transfers data through inefficient transmission paths because it always tries to find secure nodes for a safe transmission. Since it is a protocol based on AODV[6], it will cause transmission delay as researching of security routing path. when a node is out of the data transmission range as its battery dying or movement. Although it is possible to connection of nodes because a characteristic of the SAR protocol, the connection is not easy to reconnect when the security level of intermediate node is lower than the level requested by a source node. In this paper, we suggest the MP-SAR based on the SAR to solve the SAR protocol's problem. The MP-SAR seeks multiple secure path for maintenance of data confidentiality using the expanded secure path detection techniques based on the SAR. It can transfer data quickly and reliably by using the shortest efficient path among multiple paths. In the research result, we proved a outstanding performance of MP-SAR than the previous SAR through comparison and analysis.

A Method for Protein Functional Flow Configuration and Validation (단백질 기능 흐름 모델 구성 및 평가 기법)

  • With explosively growing PPI databases, the computational approach for a prediction and configuration of PPI network has been a big stream in the bioinformatics area. Recent researches gradually consider physicochemical properties of proteins and support high resolution results with integration of experimental results. With regard to current research trend, it is very close future to complete a PPI network configuration of each organism. However, direct applying the PPI network to real field is complicated problem because PPI network is only a set of co-expressive proteins or gene products, and its network link means simple physical binding rather than in-depth knowledge of biological process. In this paper, we suggest a protein functional flow model which is a directed network based on a protein functions' relation of signaling transduction pathway. The vertex of the suggested model is a molecular function annotated by gene ontology, and the relations among the vertex are considered as edges. Thus, it is easy to trace a specific function's transition, and it can be a constraint to extract a meaningful sub-path from whole PPI network. To evaluate the model, 11 functional flow models of Homo sapiens were built from KEGG, and Cronbach's alpha values were measured (alpha=0.67). Among 1023 functional flows, 765 functional flows showed 0.6 or higher alpha values.

A Restoration Method Using Duplication Paths in MPLS Networks (MPLS 망에서 이중화 경로를 이용한 복구 방법)

  • To increase network survivability and to guarantee reliable services in MPLS networks, when failures occur either at any link or node of a working path, traffics on the failed path should be switched to other restoration paths. In this paper, we propose a path restoration method using duplication of working paths for link failure and its associated failure detection method, which utilizes OAM cells when all the duplicated links or nodes of the path failed. We analyze the performance of the proposed restoration method and show that especially the method is very efficient to restore high priority traffics. Also, through simulation we prove that the proposed restoration method is superior in performance to several existing methods suggested so far.

  • 최근 대두되고 있는 MPLS 기술은 트래픽 엔진니어링에 적절하다고 알려져 있다. 그러나 MPLS를 기반으로 해서 트래픽 엔지니어링을 이루기 위해서는 특정한 제한 조건을 만족하는 경로는 설정하는 것이 기본적인 사항이다. 이를 위해서는 제한 조건 기반의 라우팅의 도움이 필수적이다. 또한, 명시적인 경로의 설정이 Ingress 라우터에서 이루어져야 한다. 그러나 망의 형상이나 이용 가능한 자원양은 동적으로 변동되는 성질을 갖고 있어서 실제 경로의 계산시 사용한 정보는 실제 경로 계산시의 망의 상태를 정확히 반영하지 못하게 된다. 그러므로 이런 정보를 이용해서 계산된 경로를 따라 LSP 설정 작업이 이루어지는 경우에 LSP 설정 실패 확률이 높아진다. 본 논문에서는 CR-LDP의 메시지들 중 Ingress 라우터로 전달되는 메시지들을 이용해서 LSP 설정 확률을 줄일 수 있는 방법을 기술한다.

  • Ad-hoc 네트워크에서 AODV 라우팅 프로토콜의 경로 설정에 대한 성능 분석과 개선 방식은 이미 많은 논문에서 다루고 있다. 하지만 기존 방식들은 대부분 네트워크 부하가 적은 경우만을 고려하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 그와 같은 상황 제약에 따른 단편적인 성능 검증을 극복하기 위해 많은 노드가 참여하고 트래픽 양이 많은 Ad-hoc 네트워크에서 트래픽양의 변화에 따른 성능을 시뮬레이션을 통해 분석하였다. 트래픽 양이 많을 경우, 기존의 AODV 라우팅 프로토콜의 성능이 훨씬 떨어지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 논문에서는 분석결과를 토대로 노드의 라우팅 테이블 Entry 수를 확인하여 혼잡도를 고려한 후 경로 탐색 여부를 결정하는 기법을 제안하고 성능을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 제안된 방식이 기존의 AODV specification[5]을 크게 수정하지 않으면서도 패킷 수신율 및 Drop율 등의 성능을 개선하는 효과가 있었으나 패킷 전달 속도에서는 경로가 분산 또는 우회되어 약간 길어진다는 것을 확인하였다.

Artemisia scoparia Inhibits Adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 Pre-adipocytes by Downregulating the MAPK Pathway (비쑥 추출물이 3T3-L1 지방세포 분화 및 MAPK 신호 전달 경로에 미치는 영향)

  • Obesity is epidemic worldwide and has reportedly been linked to the progression of several metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. The natural products are decreasing the side effects of medicines used for obesity and also have health benefits dut to their numerous bioactive compounds. In this context, Artemisia scoparia is a widespread plant that has been suggested as possessing various types of bioactivity. In this study, the crude extract from A. scoparia (ASE) was tested for its ability to suppress adipogenesis in mouse 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes. The molecular pathway by which ASE affects differentiation of 3T3-L1 cells was also investigated. The introduction of ASE to differentiating 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes resulted in suppressed adipogenesis, as confirmed by decreased intracellular lipid accumulation. The differentiating cells treated with 10 and $100{\mu}g/ml$ of ASE showed 21.9 and 29.0% less lipid accumulation, respectively, than untreated adipocytes. In addition, the results indicated that ASE treatment lowered the expression of the adipogenesis-related factors $PPAR{\gamma}$, $C/EBP{\alpha}$, and SREBP-1c. Furthermore, treating with ASE notably decreased levels of phosphorylated p38, ERK, and JNK in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. These results indicate that ASE exhibits significant anti-adipogenesis activity by downregulating the MAPK and $PPAR{\gamma}$ pathways during the differentiation of 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes. Therefore, A. scoparia may be a potential source of natural products against obesity.

Energy and Delay-Efficient Multipath Routing Protocol for Supporting Mobile Sink in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크에서 이동 싱크를 지원하기 위한 다중 경로 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • The research on multipath routing has been studied to solve the problem of frequent path breakages due to node and link failures and to enhance data delivery reliability in wireless sensor networks. In the multipath routing, mobile sinks such as soldiers in battle fields and rescuers in disaster areas bring about new challenge for handling their mobility. The sink mobility requests new multipath construction from sources to mobile sinks according to their movement path. Since mobile sinks have continuous mobility, the existing multipath can be exploited to efficiently reconstruct to new positions of mobile sinks. However, the previous protocols do not address this issue. Thus, we proposed an efficient multipath reconstruction protocol called LGMR for mobile sinks in wireless sensor networks. The LGMR address three multipath reconstruction methods based on movement types of mobile sinks: a single hop movement-based local multipath reconstruction, a multiple hop movement-based local multipath reconstruction, and a multiple hop movement-based global multipath reconstruction. Simulation results showed that the LGMR has better performance than the previous protocol in terms of energy consumption and data delivery delay.

CLK3 is a Novel Negative Regulator of NF-κB Signaling (NF-κB 신호경로에서 CLK3의 새로운 음성 조절자로서의 기능)

  • Chronic inflammation has been shown to be closely associated with tumor development and progression. Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) is composed of a family of five transcription factors. NF-κB signaling plays a crucial role in the inflammatory response and is often found to be dysregulated in various types of cancer, making it an attractive target in cancer therapeutics. In this study, CDC-like kinase 3 (CLK3) was identified as a novel kinase that regulates the NF-κB signaling pathway. Our data demonstrate that CLK3 inhibits the canonical and non-canonical NF-κB pathways. Luciferase assays following the transient or stable expression of CLK3 indicated that this kinase inhibited NF-κB activation mediated by Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα) and Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA), which are known to activate NF-κB signaling via the canonical pathway. Consistent with data on the ectopic expression of CLK3, CLK3 knockdown using shRNA constructs increased NF-κB activity 1.5-fold upon stimulation with TNFα in HEK293 cells compared with the control cells. Additionally, overexpression of CLK3 suppressed the activation of this signaling pathway induced by NF-κB-inducing kinase (NIK) or CD40, which are well-established activators of the non-canonical pathway. To further examine the negative impact of CLK3 on NF-κB signaling, we performed Western blotting following the TNFα treatment to directly identify the molecular components of the NF-κB pathway that are affected by this kinase. Our results revealed that CLK3 mitigated the phosphorylation/activation of transforming growth factor-α-activated kinase 1 (TAK1), inhibitor of NF-κB kinase alpha/beta (IKKα/α), NF-κB p65 (RelA), NF-κB inhibitor alpha (IκBα), and Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2-Mitogen-activated protein kinase (ERK1/2-MAPK), suggesting that CLK3 inhibits both the NF-κB and MAPK signaling activated by TNFα exposure. Further studies are required to elucidate the mechanism by which CLK3 inhibits the canonical and non-canonical NF-κB pathways. Collectively, these findings reveal CLK3 as a novel negative regulator of NF-κB signaling.

Reactive Acoustic Filter based on the Phase Cancellation Effect (위상 반전 현상을 이용한 덕트 소음 제거기)

  • A reactive type acoustic filter is developed based on the phase cancellation effect which is occurring in the plane wave propagation through the two paths where the cross sectional areas are reversely changing. The theory is experimentally validated by the use of a cylindrical duct and an inserted hollowed cone of which vertex part is eliminated. Noise attenuation and the filtered frequency are dependent on the area variation and the effective length of the filter. Experimental comparison shows that the filtered frequencies of 1st and 2nd mode are lower than the analytical prediction due to the mass loading effects, and the 3rd mode is in good agreement. The proposed filter can be applied as an in-duct noise filter for improving the sound quality in a narrow space for various industrial applications.
