  • From the development of residential flat plate system, continuously bended shear reinforcement is developed for the prevention of punching shear. To know the punching shear capacity of developed shear reinforcement in slab-column joint, structural test is performed. The testing parameters are shear reinforcement types, such as no reinforcement, bended shear reinforcement, and head stud reinforcement. To verify the lateral capacity, cyclic load is applied under the constant vertical load condition. The results of tests are compared to as global displacement, slab-column joint strength. From the test results, the resisting capacity of developed shear reinforcement system has a good performance in the story drift ratio.

  • This study is to evaluate the shear performance of joint between existing and new slab in apartment remodeling construction for enlarging existing slab. The horizontal joint parameters are consisted by steel pipe cotter, shear reinforcement, H-steel, stud bolt, and round shear key by concrete. And joint specimens will be tested to evaluate the shear performance of these parameters. If the joint detail have sufficient strength, it will be proposed the basic form on the design of joint parts.

  • The steel-plate concrete composite beam is composed of a steel plate, concrete and shear connector to combine two inhomogeneous materials. In general, the steel plate is assembled by welding an existing composite beam. In this study, the SPC beam was composed of folding steel plates and concrete, without a headed stud. The folding steel plate was assembled by a high strength bolt instead of welding. To improve the workability in a field construction, a hat-shaped cap was attached to the junction with a slab. Monotonic load testing under two points was conducted under displacement control mode to analyze the flexural strength of the SPC beam using a cap as the shear connector. Five specimens with shear connector types, protrusion length, and different thickness of steel plates were constructed and tested. The experimental results were analyzed through the relationship between the shear strength ratio and flexural strength in KBC 2009. The test results showed a shear strength ratio of more than 40 %. In the case of using a cap-like specimen as the shear connector, the flexural strength was 70% of the value calculated as a fully composite beam. In addition, the cap showed a smaller shear strength than the stud, but the cap served as a shear connection. When the thickness of the steel plate was taken as a variable, the steel plate exhibited a bending strength of approximately 70% compared to a fully formed steel plate, and exhibited similar deformation performance. Local buckling occurred due to incomplete composite behavior, but local buckling occurred at a 5% higher strength for a relatively thick steel plate. The buckling width also decreased by 15%.

  • Because the framed wall system using steel studs and runners with square steel tubes as structural elements is reinforced by the horizontal members called runners, it has more strength and load bearing capacity than the steel house wall system. Also, this system improves adiabatic and sound insulation performance by filling up the autoclaved lightweight concrete. We need to evaluate load bearing capacity according to the axial load and lateral load in case this system is applied in the housing system with 3~5 stories through variations in intervals for the runners under the placement effect of autoclaved lightweight concrete. Therefore, this study seeks to analyze axial and shear behavior of the framed wall system according to the placement effect of autoclaved lightweight concrete, and to secure safety for the vertical and lateral loads.

  • This paper aims to experimentally investigate the in-fire performance of composite beams with respect to the effects of load ratio and shear interaction. Under a Standard ISO834 fire, the development of temperature and deflection of simply supported composite beams were recorded. In particular, the transition of temperature distribution across the cross-section. The fire resistance of composite beam was interpreted regarding the level of shear interaction.

  • The device with tantalum silicide heater were bonded by Ag paste and Au SBB(Stud Bump Bonding) onto the Au coated substrate. The shear test after Au ABB and the thermal performance under current stressing were measured. The optimum condition of Au SBB was determined by fractured surface after die shear test and $350^{\circ}C$ for substrate, $250^{\circ}C$ for die during flip chip bonding with bonding load of about 300 g/bump. With applying 5W through heater on the device, the maximum temperature with Ag paste bonding was about $50^{\circ}C$. That with Au SBB on Au coated Si substrate showed $64^{\circ}C$. The difference of maximum temperatures is only $14^{\circ}C$, even though the difference of contact area between Ag paste bonding and Au SBB is by about 300 times and the simulation showed that the contact resistance might be one of the reasons.

  • Flat plate-column connections are susceptible to brittle punching shear failure, which may result in collapse of the overall structure. In the present study, a new shear reinforcement for the plate-column connection, the lattice shear reinforcement was developed. Experimental study for the lattice shear reinforcement was performed. Shear strength and ductility of the specimens reinforced with the lattice bars were compared with those of unreinforced specimens. The test results showed that the strength and ductility of the specimens with the lattice shear reinforcement were improved by 1.37 and 9.16 times those of the unreinforced specimens, respectively. These results indicates that the lattice shear reinforcement is superior in ductility to the shear stud-rail which is popular in U.S. Based on the test results, the design method for the lattice shear reinforcement was developed.

  • In composite girders with steel embedded in concrete as preflex beams, horseshoe connectors and bar connectors are commonly used to achieve composite action. Considering the requirements on the concrete cover in the thin concrete part surrounding a steel member, it has limitations with respect to the use of stud shear connectors, and significant bond and friction resistance can be generated. High horizontal shear strength between the casing concrete and the steel section is needed to introduce prestress to the concrete section in the form of preflex beams. In this paper, experiments on the evaluation of the static strength of horseshoe connectors and bar connectors were conducted and the effects of bonds were also considered. Based on the test results, current design codes were estimated and more general design guidelines that consider the design concept of Eurocode were proposed for the connectors. A strength evaluation according to failure and compared with the test results.
