전기자동차 개발현황 및 전망

  • 1990년도에 들어서 여러 선진공업국에서의 전기자동차 개발사업은 큰 진전을 보이고 있다. 고 성능 전지 및 경량모터의 개발, 그리고 각종 신소재들에 의한 차량의 경량화와 더불어 전기자 동차 기술수준은 급성장을 이루었다. 국내 자동차업체들도 1998년도부터 미국 캘리포니아주에서 실행될 전기자동차 강제판매 규정에 대응하기 위하여 최근들어 본격적으로 전기자동차 개발에 착수하였다. 이 글을 통하여 전기자동차개발의 배경 및 현재 각국의 개발현황, 그리고 예상 시 장규모 및 파급효과를 여러측면에서 조사하였다. 지금과 같은 개발추세로 진행된다면 앞으로 10년정도 후면 가솔린 자동차와 대등한 성능과 가격의 전기자동차개발도 가능하리라 예측된다.

Determination of electron energy distribution functions in radio-frequency (RF) and microwave discharges (RF/마이크로웨이브 방전에서의 전자에너지 분포함수의 결정)

  • An electron Boltzmann equation is solved numerically to calculate the electron energy distribution functions in plasma discharge which is generated by radio-frequency (RF) and microwave frequency electric field. The maintenance field strengths are determined self-consistently by solving the homogeneous electron Boltzmann equation in the Lorentz approximation expressed by 2nd order differential equation and an additional particle balance equation expressed by integro-differential equation. By using this numerical code, the electron energy distribution functions in argon discharge are calculated in the range from RF to microwave frequency. The influence of frequency of the HF electric field on the electron energy distribution functions and ionization rate are investigated.

  • A brake lever in a basic railway brake system is an important safety device that delivers braking force from the brake cylinder to the brake pad. The safety guidelines for designing rolling stock only qualitatively describe that the brake lever should have sufficient strength. Each train has a different type of brake lever. One brake lever that was designed with a factor of safety of 1.27 has failed, so the material was changed to increase the strength. Therefore, the stress distribution and weak points of the lever were identified by theoretical analysis. and structural analysis. Different brake lever designs were examined for KTX high-speed trains, which have a split-type structure, as well as for electric locomotives, which use an electric multiple unit (EMU) with a unity-type structure. A fracture test was also done to look at the relationship between the vertical stress and the bending stress during braking. The results were used to find a safety factor to apply to each train and suggest quantitative minimum guidelines. We also looked at changing the unity-type EMU brake lever to the split type under the same conditions and analyzed how much the design change affected the factor of safety.

  • 스테레오 X-선 영상시스템 개발을 위하여 수치적 프로젝션을 획득하는 방법론 및 수치적 팬텀 영상을 고안하고 시험하였다. 오픈소스인 TAKE21을 사용하여 수치적 팬텀을 설계하고 그로부터 프로젝션 이미지를 획득하였다. 스테레오 영상을 위한 평행 원근 투영(Parallel-Perspective) 기하구조에 대한 스테레오 프로젝션 영상을 얻기 위해서 계측기의 계와 선원의 위치에 대해 동차 좌표계(Homogeneous coordinate)에서의 선형변환(Linear Transform)을 적용되는 방식을 이용하였다. 이러한 시뮬레이션은 스테레오 X-선 검색 장치의 설계 및 알고리즘 개발에 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

A Study on Characteristics of Noise Propagation for Railway (철도차량 소음방사 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The more sophisticated patterns of propagation model is presented in this paper, which includes three different source characteristics (spherical, cosine and dipole). The spherical, cosine and dipole radiation characteristics compared, and sound event level and the maximum sound level are calculated by experiment and calculation. It is shown that patterns of propagation have dipole characteristics for low speed range (below about 150Km/h) at electric multiple system. We know that push-pull high speed system has cosine characteristics of noise propagation at low speed range (below about 200Km/h).

  • Subway line becomes an important way of transportation as road traffic goes to limit. Recently the large number of passengers of the subway lines near metropolitan area, In-Cheon, Su-Won, Pyung-Teak and Chon-An, is rapidly increasing. The electric cars of the No. 1 subway line in the suburbs are now running fast compared to the downtown area. However, the fast electric car can be uncomfortable to ride in, because there are so much noise and vibration. In this research, the running characteristics of the electric car of the No. 1 subway line in the suburbs is investigated through the measurements of the noise and vibration at running condition.

  • Safety diagnosis on the driving system of electric train is performed using the vibration and noise signals of running railway train. Safety diagnosis is tried on the viewpoints of the appreciation of superannuation and the fault diagnosis of motor, reduction gear and boggie. The appreciation of superannuation is checked by the rms vibration levels of driving parts and the fault diagnosis is done by analyzing the frequencies of the vibration signals. The methods of measuring and analyzing the signals are decided on the basis of field 1-measured signals. The results shows that the vibration levels of each parts increase as the train goes older and each parts have their own frequency patterns of the vibration. As the results, the vibration and noise can be utilized successfully for the safety diagnosis of the driving part of electric train.

  • The characteristics of vibration and sound signals which occurs at the driving system of electric train are investigated in this study since the vibration of driving system is one of the main sources of vibration and sound in electric train. The vibration signals are changed its signal patterns during the transmission from the source to passengers due to noise or several unknown factors. To avoid the complexity of actual signals of electric train, signals from experimental apparatus of motor/gear driving system are analyzed to find the appropriate method of analysis and to characterize the signal patterns. The used methods are waterfall diagram, transfer function and modal analysis. The results shows that the vibration signals are usually originated from motor bearing and gear meshing and these signals are transmitted to bottom or bogie. Also, the sound signal is similar to the vibration of bottom or bogie, but it is not so clear to figure out the source of vibration.

  • The vibration signals of driving parts of electric train are distorted its signal patterns due to the impact components, which occurs when wheel passes rail joints. An elimination method of the impact components is investigated using adaptive signal processing technique in this study. The result shows that adaptive interference canceling method seems to be more effective than line enhancement technique. The application of adaptive interference canceling method to the signal measured at bogie shows that the extractions of the signals of driving parts of traction motor, reduction gear, and axle bearing are successful. Therefore, only the signals of bogie, which is the place to attach an accelerometer easily, is sufficient for the fault diagnosis and the safety evaluation of electric train. Also, adaptive interference canceling method can be applicable to evaluate the performance of vibration isolation between bogie and car body and to investigate the characteristics of indoor sound.
