The final 24 articles were selected from three databases, RISS, KISS, and NAL (National assembly library) using specific inclusion criteria. Twenty were correlation studies and four were experimental studies. In 2009, the first study on adjustment of college freshmen was published. Since then several more studies have been conducted to date. This means that people have recognized the importance of adjustment of college freshmen. Twenty three studies that are reviewed used Baker and Siryk's college adjustment tool. From reviewed correlation studies, mean score of college students' adjustment was 3.25. The related variables with adjustment of college freshmen revealed 20 items, especially self-esteem, self-efficacy, and stress showed important related concepts. The general characteristics related to adjustment of freshmen were outgoing character, living with family, aged students, satisfied with the area of study, and satisfied with school life. The findings of this study indicated that colleges when planning for the freshmen orientation program should focus on improving self-efficacy of students, stress management, mentor program, and freshmen adjustment program for each department of the school and college.

  • This study examined the effects of critical thinking diposition, problem-solving ability, frustration tolerance on the college adaptation among nursing students Participants were asked to complete self-report surveys between October 1, 2017 and October 11, 2017. A total of 169 surveys were analyzed using SPSS 25.0(descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, & multiple regression). Nursing major satisfaction(F=12.66, p<.001) were critical factors affecting college adaptation. Critical thinking disposition(r=.22, p<.01), frustration tolerance(r=-.46, p<.001) were significant factors affecting college adaptation for nursing students. These results indicate that programs that develop critical thinking, frustration tolerance are necessary for nursing students in order to promote college adaptation.

The survey was collected on 172 2nd and 3rd grade students majoring in dental laboratory technology from three-year colleges in Chungbuk and Jeonbuk. The analysis results showed that the critical thinking disposition was 3.50, problem-solving ability of the study subjects was 3.55 and college life adaptation was 3.27. The most influential factor in college life adaptation was critical thinking disposition followed by major satisfaction and college satisfaction in that order. In order to improve the level of college life adaptation of dental laboratory technology students, it is necessary to reform the educational environment and develop a variety of educational program to increase critical thinking, major satisfaction and college satisfaction.

There was a positive correlation between self-efficacy and social support, self-efficacy and college life adaptation, and social support and university life adaptation. Self-efficacy differed between major choice subjects and major satisfaction, social support differed significantly in military service, major choice subjects, and major satisfaction, and college life adaptation differed significantly in major choice subjects, major choice motivation, and major satisfaction. The application of social support and self-efficacy enhancement programs reflecting the characteristics of male nursing college students and continuous research with various variables are needed.

The original data were collected using questionnaire from the sample of 415 middle school students selected by convenient sampling. The data were collected from October 1 to November 30, 2010. The data was conducted by using a correlations coefficient and the hierarchical regression. The major findings of this study were as follows. Firstly, the school adjustment correlates with the impulsiveness(r= -.53), the self esteem(r= .51), and the depression(r= -.56). Secondly, the school adjustment was significantly associated with academic performance, impulsiveness, self esteem, and depression, which explained 51.8% of variance in school adjustment. These results may contribute to a better understanding of impulsiveness, self esteem, depression, and school adjustment of adolescents. Therefore, programs for prompting adolescents's school adjustment should be a planned based on results of the study.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships between fear of negative evaluation, cognitive emotion regulation and field adaptation of new graduate nurses and the possible moderating effect of cognitive emotion regulation. The participants of this study were 181 new graduate nurses who have worked for less than 1 year at a hospital, data was collected by using self-report questionaires. The results of this study were fear of negative evaluation score 3.25, cognitive emotion regulation score 3.18 and field adaptation score 2.92. Fear of negative evaluation had a positive correlation with maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation, and a negative correlation with field adaptation, and did not have on moderating effect. As this results, it strengthen field adaptation for new graduate nurses in a new circumstance through self-esteem enhancement programs. It is also required to manage by using an adaptive cognitive emotion regualtion.

  • This study aimed at investigating present research and knowledge-base on climate change adaptation in ecosystem sector and analyzed the current status of basic information on ecosystem that functions as evidence-base of climate change adaptation to deduce the suggestions for the future development for knowledge and information in biodiversity. In this perspective, a questionary survey titled as "the ecological knowledge-base and information needs for climate change adaptation" with the researchers who were engaged with adaptation studies for biodiversity in the ecosystem related-research institutes including national and 17 regional local governments-affiliated agencies in Korea. The results are as follows; current status of utilizing ecological information which supports climate change adaptation strategy, future needs for adaptation knowledge and ecological information, and activation of utilizing ecological information. The majority of respondents (90.7%) replied that the ecological information has high relevance when conducting research on climate change adaptation. However, only half of all respondents (53.2%) agreed with the real viability of current information to the adaptation research. Particularly, urgent priority for researchers was deduced as intensifying knowledge-base and constructing related information on 'ecosystem change from climate change (productivity, community structure, food chain, phenology, range distribution, and number of individuals) with the overall improvement of information contents and its quality. The respondents emphasized with the necessity of conducting field surveys of local ecosystem and constructing ecosystem inventories, advancing monitoring designs for climate change in ecosystem, and case studies for regional ecosystem changes with the guidance or guidelines for monitoring ecosystem change to enhance the quality of adaptation research and produce related information. In terms of activation for ecological information usage, national and local adaptation network should be working based on the integrated ecological platform necessary to support exchanges of knowledge and information and to expand ecosystem types in time and spatial dimension.
