A Study on Nutritional Status and Food Habits According to Obese Index of High School Girls in Seoul (서울시내 여고생들의 비만도에 따른 영양상태와 식습관에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the nutritional status and food habits according to obese index of high school girls in seoul. Average height, weight, obesity rate, BMI and R hrer index of subjects were 160.2cm, 52.3kg, 96.3, 20.3 and 1.27, respectively. The average food habit score of subjects was 44.17 Subject's conceived ideal weight was lower than ideal body weight. Energy, carbohydrate, fats and protein intake of subjects were 1804kcal, 70g, 41g, 272g, respectively. Subjects had lower intake of energy, calcium, iron, thiamin, reboflavin and niacin. Nutrient intake showed positive correlation with educational level of parents, monthly family income, meal times, snack times and food habit score.

  • 일본의 사회복지적 정보기술에 대해 3회째 연재를 하고 있다. 우리나라도 장애인이나 고령자 저학력자를 위한 정보통신 기술의 개발이 이뤄지고 있긴 하지만, 아직은 미흡한 실정이다. 사회 복지적 정보기술은 반드시 필요한 부분임에도 불구하고, 연구개발이 진척되지 않고 있는 것은 역시 국가적 차원에서 기술개발과 개발된 기술의 수요를 창출해 줄 수 있어야 한다. 즉, 사회복지의 정책이 정보통신 분야로 확대되어야 함을 의미한다. 이에 일본의 고령자를 위한 정보기술 모니터링 시스템을 소개하고자한다.

고령 예부선 운항자 안전운항 교육방안

  • 2000년부터 예부선 등록 척수가 급증하고 있으며, 예부선 대부분이 10년 이상의 노후선박으로 사고의 위험성이 크다. 전체 해양사고 건수는 점차 줄어드는 추세이나, 예부선 관련 사고는 줄어들지 않고 있으며, 2010년 상반기 해양사고 분석보고서에 의하면 예부선 사고는 전년 동기대비 84.4% (32척->59척) 증가했고 이 중 충돌사고 다수인 것으로 나타났다. 예부선 사고의 근본 원인 중 예부선 종사자(선원)의 수급 어려움과 이로 인한 종사자의 고연령 저학력 경향이 뚜렷하다. 본 발표에서는 고령 예부선 운항자의 안전운항 교육을 위해 승선환경을 고려한 다양한 콘텐츠 개발 및 활용방안에 대해 제안하고자 한다.

Analysis of Korean workers' working hours (대한민국 근로자의 근로시간 분석연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the working hours of Korean workers in terms of occupation, employment contract period, employment type, final education level based on the first(2006), second(2010), third(2011), fourth(2014) Korean Working Conditions Survey(KWCS) results. Also KWCS was compared to European Working Conditions Survey(EWCS). It is found that weekly working hours were decreasing over the years since mid 2000 but weekly working hours of Korean were still longer than those of Europeans. It is also found that service workers and sales workers worked longer hours than specialists, that private sector worked longer hours than public and non-profit organization, and that the less educated worked longer hours than the more educated.

An Analysis on Human Capital Externalities Using Hierarchical Linear Model (위계선형모형을 이용한 인적자본의 외부효과 분석)

  • In the knowledge-based economy highlighting the importance of human capital, there has been a growing interest in human capital externalities as a fundamental engine of growth and development of a region. The purpose of this study is to analyze human capital externalities using 3-level hierarchical linear model(3-HLM), decomposing determinants of wages into three levels involving workers(level-1) nested within firms(level-2) nested within regions(level-3). This study separately estimates the effect of the average education level on the wages by three different schooling groups on the assumption that the intensity of knowledge spillovers varies with each group's schooling level. The main results are as follows; First, the coefficient of the average education level of a region shows 0.044, indicating that one-year increase in the average level of schooling could increase average individual earnings by 4.4%. Secondly, the external effects of human capital on three different schooling groups are considerably different, raising less than high school graduates' wages by 3.0%, college graduates' wages by 4.7%, and graduate schools' wages by 11.8%, respectively. Thirdly, well educated workers are much more sensitive to the variation of the regional education level than less educated ones when we apply the shares of each schooling group as alternative measures for the average level of education. Such findings of this study draw an implication that local governments could speed up regional economic growth in the knowledge-based economy by not only raising total human capital stock in a region but building the close networks that promote productivity-enhancing human capital external effects.

The Impact of Stress and Woking Environment on Occupation Satisfaction of Skin Care Experts (피부미용사의 스트레스와 근무환경이 직업만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 피부미용사들을 대상으로 근무환경에 대한 만족도와 스트레스가 직업 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고 근무환경 만족도, 스트레스, 직업 만족도 간의 인과관계를 규명하여 피부미용사들의 직업적 긍지를 높이고 그들의 삶의 질 증진에 기여하고자 시도 되었다. 전국의 여성 피부미용사 351명을 대상으로 설문 조사한 후 분석한 결과, 조사 대상자의 근무환경에 대한 만족도는 40세 이상, 유배우자, 부부와 자녀가 같이 사는 경우, 대졸이상의 학력자, 고소득자, 질병이 없고 건강할수록 높았고, 직업특성별 근무환경 만족도는 복합 상가, 1~2명의 직원수, 10년 이상 근무기간, 경영자가 가장 높게 나타났다. 스트레스는 30~39세, 무배우자, 혼자 사는 경우, 고졸이하 학력, 저소득자, 질병이 있고 건강하지 않는 경우가 가장 높았다. 또한 5명 이상의 직원수, 근무기간이 짧은 경우, 경영자직책이 가장 높았다. 직업만족도는 40세 이상 연령이 가장 높았고 배우자 유무와 동거형태에 따라서는 유배우자와 부부와 자녀가 같이 사는 경우, 학력에서는 대졸 이상, 월 소득은 소득이 많은 경우, 거주지역에서는 대도시, 건강상태와 질병 유무에 따라서는 질병이 없고 건강한 경우 직업만족도가 높았다. 직장위치는 복합상가가 가장 높고 근무기간과 직책에 따라서는 근무기간이 길고 경영자, 직원 수는 1~2명, 피부미용업 선택이유와 장래 근무계획에서는 적성에 맞아서와 계속근무가 직업만족도가 높았다. 근무환경, 스트레스, 직업만족도에 관하여 공분산 구조분석을 한 결과 근무환경이 좋을수록 스트레스가 적었고(p<0.001), 근무환경이 좋을수록, 스트레스가 적을수록 직업만족도가 높았다(p<0.001).

Sample Distortion in Social Surveys and Effects of Weighting Adjustment: A Study of 18 Cases (사회조사에서 표본의 왜곡과 가중치 보정의 결과: 18개 사례연구)

  • We collected and analyzed 18 social surveys to assess the quality of samples with respect to region, gender, age-band, education level and occupation. We found in our samples that highly educated people and house wives are over-represented whereas low educated people, self-employed/blue collars and white collars are under-represented. To correct such sample distortions, we applied the iterative proportional weighting or the raking to our samples. We observed sizable changes in survey results. Also, the effective sample sizes were shrunken up to 20%-40%, that could be interpreted as the necessity of larger samples to meet the claimed sampling error limits.

Estimation of Reservation Wage Functions by Sex (실업근로자의 성별 의중임금함수 추정)

  • Korean economy has contains many economic problems during past 2-3 years. One of these problems is unemployment rate rise rapidly. So Korean government has proposed many programs to deal specifically with male and female unemployment. But important things are not only administratoin's programs but also unemployed persons' reservation wage. Accordingly the purpose of this thesis is to analyze why reservation wages differ between male and female. The data we are going to use is the unemployment survey by researcher in 1998. By the result of the estimation of reservation wage functions, we are found two fact. The first is the principle of determinants reservation wage are different between male and female. In esimation of male reservation wage function, early wage and age, education level, unemployment period are very important determinants. But in esimation of female reservation wage function, early wage and education level, age, licence are very important determinants. The second is the reservation wage-setting mechanisms are different between male and fermale. Therefore we conclude that because Korean labor market is stratified labor market, reservation wage-setting mechanisms are much different by sex.

The Impact of Educational Attainment on First Marriage Formation: Marriage Delayed or Marriage Forgone? (교육이 초혼 형성에 미치는 영향: 결혼 연기 혹은 독신?)

  • Using the Korean labor and Income Panel Study, this study examines the impact of educational attainment on first marriage formation in Korea. In particular, this study examines whether higher education is associated primarily with delayed marriage or with a higher likelihood of never marrying. The results show that the trend toward later and less marriage is occurring at all levels of educational attainment in Korea. The data also indicated that educational attainment showed differential effects on the risk of first marriage formation for Korean men and women. For those born before 1970, both highly educated men and women delayed marriage but caught up by marrying at higher rates at later ages. However, for those born after 1970, highly educated women were increasingly more likely to show the trend toward later and less marriage, while highly educated men were more likely to delay marriage but caught up by marrying at higher rates at later ages. Overall the evidence in this study is consistent with the argument that gender divisions make it difficult for women to balance work and family in Korea.

Implementation agency effect on Self-Sufficiency of Participants in Self-Support Program (자활사업 집행기관이 자활사업 참여자의 자활효과에 미치는 영향 - 위계선형모형(HLM)의 적용을 중심으로 -)

  • This study set out to investigate implementation agency effect on participants' self-sufficiency in self-support program. Self-support program's implementation agency consist of civil groups and social welfare corporations. The final sample size was 602 program participants and 18 implementation agencies in Gwangju city, South Korea. Two-level hierarchical linear model was used for analysis. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, civil groups' participants were healthier, more often participated in business model, earned higher monthly income, participated shorter time rather than participants in social welfare corporation. Second, civil groups' participants showed low level of self-sufficiency than participants in social welfare corporations. These results means that self-support policy is not delivered uniformly because front-line implementation agencies develop work habits that influence the outcome of policy. And limitations and implications of this study were discussed with respect to further studies.
