  • 터키는 알파인 조산대 내의 테티얀 광상대(Tethyan belt)에 위치한다. 이 광상대는 섭입과, 충돌, 열개 운동으로 형성되었고 후기 백악기에서 신생대 화성암류와 오피올라이트(ophiolite)와 관련된다. 터키 지표의 5.5%를 덮고 있는 변성지괴는 북동부의 스트란야(Strandja), 카쟉(Kazdag), 서부의 멘데레스(Menderes), 중부의 키르세히르(Kirsehir), 남동부의 비틀리스(Bitlis)와 포투르지(Poturge)에 분포한다(그림 3과 4). 비교적 연구가 많이 진행된 서부지역의 변성지괴 연구결과에 따르면 변성작용연대는 선캠브리아기에서 올리고세이다. 변성상은 녹색편암상과 각섬암상에서 에콜로자이트상과 백립암상에 이른다(Yigit, 2009). 상기 여러 지괴는 여러 번에 걸쳐 변성작용을 겪었다. 서부의 멘데레스 지괴는 다섯 개의 변성상을 보여주고 있으며, 두 번째 변성작용까지는 알파인 조산운동 이전의 시기이다. 다양한 지질과 지체구조는 터키의 다양한 광상의 부존 가능성을 가능케 한다. 주요자원인 금-동-몰리브덴 광상은 주로 후기 백악기에서 신생대의 화산호와 관련된 반암동과 천열수 광상이다. 동-연-아연 광상은 VMS 중 쿠로코와 사이프러스형 광상과 MVT 광상에 속한다. 알려진 크롬광상의 대부분은 포디폼광상이며 알파인-오피올라이트 암석과 관련된다.

  • We treated a rare case of TO that presented with recurrent massive hemoptysis that resulted in total obstruction of the bronchus intermedius by very large blood clots. Bronchoscopic intervention resulted in a full recovery from the atelectasis. However, there are no guidelines for preventing recurrence of the hemoptysis or disease progression. Conservative and expectant management are used to treat these patients and most do well.

  • 최근 웹의 확산과 더불어 제품개발을 위하여 공동작업 구성원들 사이의 정보 공유와 재사용을 지원하는 웹 기반의 공동작업 지원 시스템 개발에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 기업 및 공공기관의 공동작업은 광범위하게 분산되어 있는 경우가 많으며, 여러 작업그룹 내의 구성원은 이러한 환경에서 효과적으로 서로의 정보를 교환하고 공유할 수 있는 작업공간을 필요로 한다. 또한 공동작업의 결과로서 생성된 기술문서의 체계적인 관리 기능과 실시간 의사전달의 기능 등이 함께 제공되는 것이 바람직하다. 본 논문에서는 웹 기반의 공동작업 지원 시스템인 CoWare의 설계와 구현에 대하여 설명한다. CoWare는 통합시스템으로서 CoSpace, CoDocs, CoMail로 명명된 세 개의 관련된 시스템으로 구성된다. CoSpace는 자료의 저장과 공유를 위하여 개인 및 작업그룹을 위한 작업공간을 제공하고, CoDocs는 전자문서의 체계적인 관리를 지원하며, CoMail은 실시간 의사전달의 기능을 제공한다. CoSpace, CoDocs, 그리고 CoMail은 기본적으로 사용자 정보, 사용자 그룹정보, 작업그룹정보의 공유를 통하여 상호 연계되어, 보다 자연스럽고 효율적으로 공동작업을 지원할 수 있다.

탄소나노튜브 첨가에 따른 복합나노섬유의 기계적-광학적 특성 변화

  • 나노섬유는 지름이 수십에서 수백 나노미터(1나노미터=10억분의1m)에 불과한 초극세 물질로 비표면적이 매우 크고[1], 제작이 간편하여, 사용되어지는 고분자의 종류에 따라 에너지 환경 의료 관련 분야에서 전극소재 필터재 피복재 인공 피부등 다양한 분야에서의 활용이 가능하여 전 세계적으로 연구개발이 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 그 자체만으로 응용하기에는 그 기계적 전기적 특성의 한계 때문에 응용의 다양성에 제약을 받고 있다. 그러나 그 자체만으로 응용하기에는 그 기계적 열적 전기적 특성을 가진 탄소나노튜브를 첨가한 복합나노섬유에 의해 그 응용영역의 한계를 넓혀가고 있다.[2] 본 연구에서는 전도성 고분자인 polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)에 multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)를 첨가한 복합나노섬유를 전기방사법(electrospinning method)을 통해서 제조하였다. [2~3] CNTs 첨가농도에 따른 제조된 복합나노섬유의 형상변화와 섬유내의 CNTs 배열상태를 각각 주사전자 현미경(scanning electron microscope: SEM)과 투과전자현미경(transmission electron microscope: TEM)을 이용하여 관찰하였다. 또한, 복합나노섬유의 광학 특성 변화를 CNTs 첨가농도에 따라서 FT-IR과 Raman spectroscopy등을 이용하여 조사하였으며, 나노섬유의 tensile strength의 측정을 통해 CNTs 함량에 따른 기계적 특성 변화를 분석하였다.

  • The nephrotic syndrome is characterized by generalized edema, hypoproteinemia(<2 g/dL), proteinuria(>40 $mg/m^2/hr$), and hypercholesterolemia(>200 mg/dL). It is reported that hypoalbuminemia, which is one of the four diagnostic criteria of the nephrotic syndrome, is associated with gallbladder wall thickening. An explanation for the thickened wall in hypoalbuminemic states is the accumulation of fluid in the subserosal layer of the gallbladder wall which contains the most areolar tissue. This report describes a patient who was initially diagnosed with the nephrotic syndrome at the age of 4 and subsequently developed acute acalculous cholecystitis at the age of 5.8 with an albumin level of 1.3 g/dL. The patient responded to fluid therapy, nasogastric suction, and broad spectrum antibiotics.

  • Environmental impact of waste tires as gound-reinforcing material is studied. Analysis for chemical compounds and toxic effect were performed on effluents from twelve lysimeters in which waste tires were mixed with sand and three initially different environmental solutions of acidic, neutral, and basic circulated through the mixture. The test results of effluents collected from the lysimeters provided that the contaminant concentrations were lower than those of Korean drinking water standards for all the selected and tested metal elements. While iron concentration increased slightly with the exposure period, other metal concentrations decreased with the number of circulation times. From the comparison with previous investigations, the contaminant concentration decreased with the increase of tire size, i.e. increases with the increase of the exposed surface of tire metals. From the toxicity tests, no deteriorative effect was observed and it could be concluded that waste tires are not biologically hostile materials.

Differentiation and Proliferation of Porcine T Lymphocytes in NOD/SCID Mice (NOD/SCID 모델 마우스 생체 내 돼지 T 면역세포의 증식 및 분화)

  • The nonobese diabetic / severe combined immune deficiency (NOD/SCID) has been used for determination of proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells as xenotransplantation animal model. In this study, we transplanted porcine hematopoietic cells from bone marrow into NOD/SCID mice via intravenous injection to confirm the activity of differentiation and proliferation for porcine hematopoietic cells in vivo. Interestingly, we observed the result of high efficiency with pig T lymphocytes in hematopoietic organs, liver, spleen lymph node, and bone marrow in NOD/SCID mice. The porcine $CD3^{+}$ T cells were detected with $5.4{\pm}1.9%$ in bone marrow, $15.4{\pm}7.3%$ in spleen, $21.3{\pm}1.4%$ in liver, and $33.5{\pm}32.8%$ in lymph node of NOD/SCID mice at 6 weeks after trans-plantation Furthermore, immunohistochemical analysis showed the high engraftment of porcine T lymphocytes in spleen of NOD/SCID mice. Our data suggest that NOD/SCID mice are excellent animal model to determinate the generation md function of pig T lymphocytes.

Ultrasonographic Findings in Children with Vesicoureteral Reflux (방광요관역류를 가진 소아에서의 신초음파 소견)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the renal ultrasonographic findings in children with vesicoureteral reflux (VUR). Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 83 patients who were diagnosed with VUR and underwent ultrasonography at Ilsan hospital between January 2000 and December 2010. Results: Among 166 renal units, 108 (65.0%) were found to have vesicoureteral reflux (VUR). Fifty-one (73.9%) had VUR in renal units with abnormal ultrasonography (USG), whereas 57 (58.7%) had VUR in renal units with normal USG. Abnormal USG findings were independent risk factors for VUR (Odds ratio, 1.98; 95% CI, 1.01-3.89; $P$=0.045). In renal units with VUR, the number of normal USG finding was 52.8%, and the abnormal findings were as follows; increased cortical echogenicity 16.7%, hydronephrosis 17.6%, megaureter or ureter dilatation 8.3%, hydronephrosis and ureter dilatation 1.9%, duplication of ureter 1.9%, and atrophic kidney 0.9%. The prevalence of VUR was relatively higher in renal units with hydronephrosis (23/19, 82.6%), ureter dilatation (9/9, 100%), duplication of ureter (2/3, 66.6%), and atrophic kidney (1/1, 100%). Conclusion: Our study indicates that VUR was associated with abnormal USG findings. When there are abnormal USG findings such as hydronephrosis, ureter dilatation, duplication of ureter, and atrophic kidney in children with UTI, VCUG is recommended to detect VUR after controlling UTI.

Thoracoscopic Talc Pleurodesis of Malignant Pleural Effusion (악성늑막삼출증의 흉강경 탈크늑막유착술)

  • The management of malignant pleural effusion is a difficult problem. Tetracycline was probably the most commonly used sclerosing agent, but parenteral tetracycline is no longer available. This prospective study was designed to determine the efficacy of insufflated talc in producing plerodesisin patients with malignant pleural effusions. Fifteen patients managed between March 1995 and March 1997 underwent thoracoscopy and had 4 gm sterile asbestos-free talc insufflation throughout the pleural space. The mean interval between the procedure and last follow-up was 101 days(range: 25-233 days). The results of treatment were clinically and radiologically compared with pre-operative status. The results were as follows: 1. The patients were 6 men and 9 women with a mean age of 55.1 years(range: 31-74 years). The primary tumors were lung cancer in 10 patients, breast cancer in two, hepatoma in one, stomach cancer in one, and adenocarcinoma of unkown origin in one. 2. Cancer cell positive ratio was 36% in sputum cytology study and 100% in thoracoscopic biopsy. 3. Symptoms improved in 94% of patients treated by talc pleurodesis. 4. After 30 days of the procedure, there was radiologically no recurrence of plural fluid in 94% patients. 5. There were wound infection in one, respiratory failure in one. In conclusion, the insufflation of 4 gm sterile asbestos-free talc in the pleural space is an effective method to control malignant pleural effusions and patients selection is important factor for reexpansion the lung.

Referral Trends of Children in Jeonbuk National University Dental Hospital for Last 3 years (최근 3년간 전북대학교 치과병원의 소아청소년환자 의뢰경향)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze outpatient referral patterns of children in Jeonbuk National University Dental Hospital. All patients under 16 years old who were consulted from the external facilities were reviewed based on the electronic medical record of Jeonbuk National University Dental Hospital from 2015 to 2018. Total 720 boys and 460 girls with an average age of 7.4 years were referred from local dental clinic (85.2%) for treatment severity (90.2%). 3.2% of patients has disability with the highest number of intellectual disabilities. The patients were usually referred at the pre-treatment stage with higher rates if they had disability or medical problem. Referral rate by chief complaints was highest in surgery, followed by reparative treatment and orthodontic treatment. 2nd referrals in pediatric dentistry had a higher rate of referrals to minor surgery and pulp treatment than of first referrals. The time point of 2nd referral was relatively delayed with increased ratio of 'during treatment'. These results suggest necessities of appropriate case selection and referral based reasonable criteria for pediatric dentist.
