Demonstration project on utilization of solar thermal energy on Hybrid Cooling and Heating system (태양열 이용 Hybrid냉난방시스템 실증연구)

  • 최근 고유가상황 및 에너지소비가 증대되는 사회적 분위기와 환경적 변화에 힘입어 대체에너지기술개발에 대한 절실한 대책마련이 중요시 되고있다. 기후변화협약의 발효로 환경에너지에 대한 새로운 인식의 필요로 에너지체제의 변환이 촉구되어지고 있으며 이에 따른 환경친화적 에너지자원을 이용한 신 재생에너지개발에 대한 연구개발기술이 관심을 받고 있다. 현재 사용중인 화석연료는 환경오염 및 지구의 온난화 현상 등 심각한 공해문제를 야기시키고 있는 반면에 태양에너지와 같은 청정에너지의 개발은 환경오염방지와 친환경에너지자원의 활용이라는 점에서 관심이 대상이 되고 있고 특히, 우리나라의 경우 에너지수입 의존율이 97%로 높은 상황에서 국가에너지대책을 수립하고 해외수입에너지 의존율을 최소화시키기 위하여 가히 필수적인 상황이다. 따라서, 본 실증연구사업(태양열 이용 Hybrid냉난방시스템 실증연구)은 태양열 집열기에서 생산된 저온의 $20\sim30^{\circ}C$의 승온된 양질의 열원을 히트펌프 증발기 열원으로 이용 히트펌프의 압축동력이 상대적으로 작아져 기존 히트펌프 시스템에서의 성적계수(COP)를 높여 주는 효과를 기대할 수 있고, 특히 하절기 복사량이 많은 시기에는 $50\sim60^{\circ}C$ 정도로 승온되어진 중 고온수를 직접 온수탱크로 이동시켜 필요수요처에 공급함으로써 이에 따른 에너지절감효과를 기대할 수 있다. 구축된 태양열 이용 하이브리드(Hybrid)냉난방시스템은 계절별, 설비별 특성을 적절히 활용하여 연평균 집열기 효율은 70%수준으로 유지하면서, 계절별 성적계수는 '4'수준을 목표로 하여 추진되었으며, 그간, 태양열 이용 보급분야의 실용화는 주로 건물의 급탕용 온수생산의 수준에 머물렀으나 이 단계를 극복한 건물의 냉 난방 및 급탕을 위한 태양열 및 공기열원을 활용한 하이브리드(Hybrid)냉난방 시스템 구축하였다. 아울러, 태양열 이용 하이브리드 냉난방 히트펌프 시스템 실증 실험은 유가상승과 신재생에너지에 대한 국가적 분위기 고취로 어느때 보다도 개발기술의 상용화 및 실용화적 측면의 염두와 태양열 이용 Hybrid냉난방 시스템의 효율향상과 저가화를 통해 기술의 경제성과 신뢰성을 확보하여 태양열 이용 시스템의 보급활성화를 목표로 하고 있다.

  • 현재 우리나라에서만 연간 약 26만들이 발생되고 있는 농업용 폐비닐은 재생원료로 재활용되어지면 국내외에서 그 용도가 매우 많으나 멀칭용으로 사용되었던 폐비닐은 그 오염도가 워낙 심하여 쉽게 재활용할 수 없는 처지이다. 즉 공급과 수요는 많으나 재생기술의 한계가 병목으로 작용하고 있는 현실이다. 따라서 간단하고 경제적인 방법으로 재활용할 수 있는 습식 및 건식 재생기술의 개발이 계속되어 요구되어 왔다. 강제 세척, 회전분리, 열풍 건조 및 압착성형을 이용한 새로운 간이습식공정을 통하여 멀칭용 농업용 폐비닐을 순도 95% 이상의 탄화 및 열화가 적은 압착 펠렛을 경제적으로 제조할 수 있었다. 이들의 재생 수지는 인장강도 $168.6{\pm}3.9kgf/cm^2$, 파단신을 315.8%, 인장탄성을 $2,551.8{\pm}50.1kgf/cm^2$, 굴곡강도와 굴곡탄성을 $166.7{\pm}7.4kgf/cm^2,\;5,716.2{\pm}242.2kgf/cm^2$ 그리고 충격강도는 $49.2kgf\;cm/cm$을 각각 보여 연질수지로써 기능하기 위한 충분한 성능을 보유하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 이들의 응용분야 확대를 위하여 fly ash 및 탄산칼슘을 배합하여 이들의 물성변화를 살폈다.

Effect of Culture Method and Medium Composition on Shoot Regeneration from Sporophytes of Cyrtomium caryotideum var. coreanum Nakai. (참쇠고비(Cyrtomium caryotideum) 포자체로부터의 식물체 재생에 미치는 배양방법 및 배지구성물질의 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the efficient propagation method of Cyrtomium caryoptideum var. coreanum by sporophyte culture. The influence of origin of explant sources (rhizome, blade, or stipe) and homogenization of culture materials on shoot regeneration were investigated. As a result, only rhizome explant exhibited the organogenic capacity and the shoot regeneration was promoted by homogenization of culture material. Vigorous and excellent growth of multiple shoots was induced on the half-strength of inorganic salts containing MS medium. It was appeared that optimum nitrogen content of shoot regeneration was half-strength of nitrogen containing MS medium (30mM) and optimum sucrose concentration was 1%. Addition of $NaH_2PO_4$ to culture medium generally enhanced shoot multiplication and promoted growth of the regenerants. The organogenic capacity of homogenized rhizomes was especially promoted on medium supplemented with $5{\mu}M$ kinetin plus $5{\mu}M$ IBA. The incorporation of $0.1\sim0.2%$ activated charcoal on medium supplemented with growth regulators prevented the formation of multiple bud primordia - nodule-like bud clusters and improved the normal morphogenesis of sporophytes.

  • Poly(lactic acid) is a linear aliphatic thermoplastic polyester, produced by the ring-opening polymerization of lactides and the lactic acid monomers, which are obtained from the fermentation of sugar feed stocks, corn, etc. PLA has high mechanical, thermal plasticity, fabric-ability, and biocompatibility, So PLA is a promising polymer far various end-use applications. In recent time, the intercalation of polymers from either solution or the melt in the silicate galleries of clay is the best technique to prepare nanocompoiste material which often exhibit remarkable improvement of mechanical, thermal, optical and physicochemical properties when compared with the pure polymer or conventional composites. Layered silicate is naturally abundant, economic, and more importantly benign to the environment.

  • This study conducts economic evaluation of alternatives for $CO_2$ reduction of thermal power plants. Two alternatives in reducing $CO_2$ emission are considered for the evaluation under the RPS(Renewable Portfolio Standard) system; one is to perform renewable energy quotas and another is to construct green thermal power plants using CCS(Carbon Capture and Sequestration). As evaluation methods, DCF(Discount Cash Flow) and ROPM(Real Options Pricing Method) are employed. At a discount rate of 7.5% applied to the Electricity Supply and Demand Plan, it is shown that green thermal power generation has economic dominance under both evaluation methods.

  • The Korean government is planning to introduce the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) system to replace the currently used Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) system which is a subsidy-based mechanism to foster the renewable energy industry. The RPS system is a market-oriented system in which the power companies are obliged to use renewable energy sources to produce electricity by a certain ratio of their production level. They can either produce for themselves or simply purchase the REC (renewable energy certificate) in the market to implement. The objective of this article is to compare the RPS system with the current FIT system in terms of the implementing cost to achieve the policy goal to expand the share of renewable energy m the total power generation. The analysis is conducted using Linear Programming models. The results of this study imply several policy suggestions to successfully introduce the RPS system.

  • Although renewable energy sources are more environmentally friendly than fossil energy sources, they are far more costly and hard to survive in the electricity market. For a competitive renewable electricity, the government should take 'visible' actions to compensate higher production costs. Popular policies, such as Feed-In-Tariff and Renewable Portfolio Standards, are financed by an undifferentiated increase of electricity bills (a collective financing mechanism) but are occasionally confronted with the opposition of the electricity consumers. This paper discusses the consumers' willingness to pay for renewable energy in order to back up the voluntary financing mechanism, the Green Pricing. The Tobit analysis of a consumer survey shows that the consumer's WTP is positively influenced by his environmentally friendly activities under both financing mechanisms. The knowledge on renewable energy is statistically significant only under collective financing mechanism.

Is the technology in renewable energy converging among countries? : Using the patent data of OECD (재생에너지 분야 국가 간 기술 확산 및 수렴 : OECD 특허 데이터를 이용한 분석)

  • This paper uses patent data of OECD countries in order to investigate if there is converging tendency in renewable energy area. We used the concepts of sigma convergence and beta convergence to measure the convergence. GINI coefficient, HH index are also borrowed from other area of economics. The results show that technology level does not seem to have been converging in this area. Even though the number of patent in relatively less advanced countries has been increased a lot, we could find no evidence that there is the tendency that the gap among the countries have been narrowed. This is quite different from the results of IT industry or other industry since we could find the converging tendency in the data of those industries. Instead, it seems that there is the convergence club among most advance countries in renewable energy area.

  • RPS(Renewable Portfolio Standards) is an institutional device to promote use of renewable energy through market mechanism by making renewable energy to constitute a pre-announced portion of the electricity production. We measure economic impacts of the introduction of RPS to domestic electricity market at the levels of electricity market, individual industrial sectors and the economy as a whole. First, we examine the TREC(Tradable Renewable Energy Credits) market, where the credits in excess of the obligation of the renewable energy production are sold to those who have to meet the obligation through purchased credits. We then measure end-users' additional cost originating from the introduction of RPS and TREC in electricity production, and their impacts on price and supply in the retail electricity market. Next, using input-output analysis, we measure economic impacts of the changes in retail price and supply on individual industrial sectors and the economy as a whole. Among many others, we find small price effect and large GDP effect - sectoral electricity price rises at around 5%, sectoral price level rises by 0.258%, and sectoral GDP declines by 1.940% on average by the year 2011.

  • Recently, due to people's incontinent use all over the world, fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas were nearly to be exhausted and also causes serious environment pollutions. Therefore, there is a strong need to develop solar, wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal to replace fossil fuels to prevent suffering from above problems. Wish advances in sensor technology, such data is collected as a kind of stream data which arrives in an online manner so that it is characterized as high- speed, real-time and unbounded and it requires fast data processing to get the up-to-date results. Therefore, the traditional data processing techniques are not fit to deal with stream data. In this paper, we propose a kalman filter-based algorithm to process renewable stream data.
