Survey study on the Preference of Dental Medical Personnel for Dental CAD/CAM Milling Machines (치과용 CAD/CAM 밀링기에 대한 치과의료종사자들의 선호도 조사)

  • Purpose: Recently, according to the development of digital technology, computer aided design/computer aided manufacture (CAD/CAM) system is widely used for fabrication of various dental prostheses in the field of dentistry. This study aims to survey the present state and awareness of CAD/CAM system on domestic dental field, and to supply the advice for the application of the new system. Materials and methods: In this questionnaire survey was conducted for a total of 298 dentists, dental hygienist and dental technicians of the whole country including the dental hospital of Seoul National University for two months from November to December, 2016 through mail. Results: The most important purpose to consider when purchasing a dental CAD/CAM milling machine were the performance of the milling machine (64.43%) and the use of milling machine was the highest with 49.33% of manufacturing for dental prosthesis and customized implant abutment. In addition, more than 60% of respondents answered positively about the purchase of new milling machine if the CAD/CAM milling machine was improved to satisfactory performance. Conclusion: This survey results show that the improved CAD/CAM milling machine would be play an important role in the dental industry in preparation for digitization and the 4th industrial revolution.

Irradiation-induced Volatile Compounds in Irradiated Chicken by P&T Method (P&T법에 의한 닭고기의 방사선 유래 휘발성 조사물질 구명)

  • To select the irradiation-induced marker components from volatile flavor compounds in irradiated chicken, and complement the extraction problems of liquid continuous extraction (LLCE) method, the volatile compounds of irradiated (0,1,3,5 and 10 kGy) chicken were analyzed by Purge and Trap (P&T) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) methods. A total of 119 compounds were detected in irradiated chicken, and these compounds were composed mainly of 7 aldehydes,22 ketones,8 alcohols,30 esters,36 hydrocarbons,8 aromatic compounds and 8 miscellaneous compounds. Among these, only 21 compounds were detected in both LLCE and P&T methods, and the 98 other were detected in omly P&T method. Among volatile compounds detected in irradiated chicken, only 3 compounds such as hexene (r=0.96, p<0.01), propanol (r=0.93, p<0.05) and 1,3-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl) benzene (r=0.96, p<0.05) were newly selected as marker compounds in irradiated chicken by P&T method, which showed significant and high positive correlation coefficient in the change of relative concentration according to the increment of irradiation dosage.

Reduction Gas and Chemical Additive Effects on the MOCVD Copper Films Deposited From (hfac)Cu(1,5-DMCOD) as a Precursor ((hfac)Cu(1,5-DMCOD) 전구체를 이용한 MOCVD Cu 증착 특성에 미치는 환원기체와 첨가제의 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The deposition characteristics of MOCVO Cu using the (hfac)Cu(I) (1,5-DMCOD)(1,1,1,5,5,5-hexafluoro-2,4-pentanedionato Cu(I) 1,5-dimethyl-cyclooctadine) as a precursor have been investigated in terms of the effects of hydrogen and H(hfac) ligand addition with He carrier gas. MOCVD Cu using a Helium carrier gas showed a low deposition rate (20~$125{\AA}/min$) at the substrate temperature range of 180~$230^{\circ}C$. Moreover, the Cu film deposited at 19$0^{\circ}C$ was very thin (~$700{\AA}$) and showed the lowest resistivity value of $2.8{\mu}{\Omega}-cm$. The deposition rate of MOCVD Cu using $H_2$or H(hfac) addition was significantly enhanced especially at the low temperature region (180~$190^{\circ}C$). Furthermore, thinner Cu films (~$500{\AA}$) provided low resistivity (3.6~$2.86{\mu}{\Omega}-cm$). From surface reflectance measurement, very thin films deposited by using different gas system revealed good surface morphology comparable with sputtered Cu film ($300^{\circ}C$, vacuum-anneal). Hence, Cu film using (hfac)Cu(1,5-DMCOD) as a precursor is expected as a good seed layer in the electrochemical deposition process for Cu metallization.

  • As Korea has been industrialized high recently, the constructional plant part which is the major driving force to Korean economic growth is being developed. In spite of the great importance, there are many ill-prepared parts in EPC project management procedure, and working in practice of EPC project management procedure manual is not systematic. That is why the governmental progressive policy on the relevant technology and the establishment of EPC project management procedure are needed. This study was aimed to derive reform measures by analyzing problems of EPC project management procedure manuals which are in use at 13 large-sized construction companies currently. The reform measures which are based on the theory of PMI(Project Management Institute)'s PMBOK(Porjcet Management Body Of Knowledge) are about deriving administration factors to control the project, and EPC project administration factors are derived from the definition of CMAA(Construction Mangement Association of America). The reformed electronic EPC project management procedure manual system is set up by standardizing derived administration factors.

  • The WAP 2.0 system is a newly proposed wireless communication system by the WAP Forum for interoperability across Internet environment and the system takes charge of communication between WAP terminals and existing origin Web servers. The purpose of this paper is 1) to construct a WAP 2.0 proxy proposed by the WAP Forum and 2) to improve the WAP Proxy in order to increase communication efficiency between wired and wireless communication objects. The Improved WAP proxy constructed in this study provides links between wired and wireless communication environments using the split-TCP concept. However, unlike the split-TCP connection, The improved WAP proxy maintains TCP's end-to-end semantics and reduces overhead by avoiding operations as much as possible on the upper protocol layer. In addition, The improved WAP proxy supports SACK(Selective Acknowledgement ) option and Timestamp option for speedy re-transmission which leads to reduction of performance degradation. After constructing the improved WAP proxy under Linux environment, experiments have been taken. The experimental results show that, compared with the experiments when a WAP proxy proposed by the WAP Forum is used, both data transmission delay time and data transmission size decrease to show that communication efficiency is increased. In particular, as packet missing ratio Increases, data transmission size decreases, which demonstrates that the improved WAP proxy is very effective for performance improvement in wireless communication environment.

Laboratory Validation of Bridge Finite Model Updating Approach By Static Load Input/Deflection Output Measurements (정적하중입력/변위출력관계를 이용한 단경간 교량의 유한요소모델개선기법: 실내실험검증)

  • This paper presents a laboratory validation of a new approach for Finite Element Model Updating(FEMU) on short-span bridges by combining ambient vibration measurements with static load input-deflection output measurements. The conventional FEMU approach based on modal parameters requires the assumption on the system mass matrix for the eigen-value analysis. The proposed approach doesn't require the assumption and even provides a way to update the mass matrix. The proposed approach consists of two steps: 1) updating the stiffness matrix using the static input-deflection output measurements, and 2) updating the mass matrix using a few lower natural frequencies. For a validation of the proposed approach, Young's modulus of the laboratory model was updated by the proposed approach and compared with the value obtained from strain-stress tests in a Universal Testing Machine. Result of the conventional FEMU was also compared with the result of the proposed approach. It was found that proposed approach successfully estimated the Young's modulus and the mass density reasonably while the conventional FEMU showed a large error when used with higher-modes. In addition, the FE modeling error was discussed.

Pull-out Capacity of Cast-in-place Anchor for Construction of Precast Concrete Segment Arch (프리캐스트 콘크리트 패널 분절 아치 시공을 위한 선설치 앵커의 인발 강도 평가)

  • Precast concrete segment arch system has an economic and construct ability that combined with advantage of precast concrete and arch behavior. A precast concrete segment arch system with outrigger is consisted of segmented precast panels, a steel outrigger rib, and V-strip to connect precast panels with a steel outrigger rib and cast-in-place anchors in precast panels to connect V-strip should have sufficient pull-out capacity to form its arch shape by site lifting for assembled precast panels and outriggers. However, it is difficult to secure its embedment depth due to the relatively shallow thickness of precast panel. It can be also occurred that flexure deformation of precast panels caused by its pull-out behaviors. In this study, pull-out capacity of cast-in-place anchor was examined for construction of precast concrete segment arch system with outriggers. Therefore, a total of 24 precast panel specimens were fabricated to examine pull-out capacities of cast-in-place anchor in precast panels, and installation depth of anchors, diameter of anchors and wire mesh effects for the precast panel were examined. From this pull-out tests, its pull-out capacities and failure modes were evaluated and the type of the cast-in-place anchor applicable to the precast concrete segment panel arch system with outriggers was determined from comparison of the design specification values.

UV Degradation Characteristics and Applicability of Coating Agent for Conservation of FRP Artifacts (FRP 작품 보존을 위한 자외선 열화 특성 및 자외선 차단 코팅제 적용 연구)

  • This study evaluated the degradation characteristics of FRP by ultraviolet (UV) rays and applied a UV-resistant coating to prevent the degradation of the surface of these sculptures. As a result of the degradation caused by UV rays, there were slight changes in the FRP surface and contact angle. The chromaticity sharply increased in the early phase of degradation. After applying the coating to the FRP, no significant surface changes were observed. However, it had lower changes in color as compared to the uncoated specimen, so it was verified that the control of discoloration could be possible. Some changes in the gloss and contact angle were observed depending on the extent of degradation, but the UV coating agent remained relatively stable. Analysis of the infrared light spectrum showed that there were almost no chemical changes, and it could be concluded that the coating treatment prevented degradation for a certain period. This study investigated the degradation of FRP used as materials in artwork exposed to UV rays, and it was found that there was a delay in the onset of degradation in the FRP with the UV-resistant coating when compared to the uncoated FRP.

  • The strength and load of structure are varied with the Passage of time, and become a process of probability. It is possible to estimate the reliability from the relation between strength and load. Considering the safety, It is reasonable to estimate allowable stress from the safety factor based on the reliability. In this study, the method to estimate probability of fracture, which is index of reliability for rail subjeict to long term fatigue load were examined. In estimation of reliablity it is meaningless to evaluate numerical value especially this difficult case estimating parameter of random variable. To overcome this problem, conventional design method estimating relative reliability were proposed. In this study the Cornell method were examined. The uncertainity of random variale, ie coefficient of variation which is the index of variation of strength and load were considered. The effect of uncertainity related to probability of fracture, and safety factor based on reliability were examined. The results of this study are followed. The reliability of weld metal were influenced by variation of strength more then load, and base metal were influenced by load. It is confirmed that the allowable stress range calculating with factor of safety based an reliability is conservative.

Developing a Study on the Extracting Method of Laminated Glass Fiber from FRP Boats (폐FRP 선박으로부터 섬유보강재 추출공정 개선 연구)

  • There is several ways of recycling methods for waste FRP boats. The main one is mechanical recycling that is one of the simple and technically proven methods. It recently has been reported that FRP can be recycled by separating into laminated glass fiber layers instead of crushing into powder. Even though the mechanical recycling is a good way for the eligibility of laminated glass fiber reinforced material, the system should have another option which can collect resin of FRP. Because the resin is still very useful renewable energy source, that cannot be discarded, But FRP is made up of laminated glass fiber(roving cloth layer) which is fire retardant substances and very hard to break into each layer. Due to the high cost of fossil energy the waste plastics should be regenerated to the source of renewable energy. Laminated glass fiber which is recyclable in a very limited way, is currently a serious barrier to waste FRP boat regenerating. This study is to propose a new extracting method which is efficient and environment friendly FRP waste regenerating system. The recycled glass fiber which is obtained by the separation of the roving layer from FRP waste has been found to be useful for concrete(FRC) products or concrete(FRC) structures as fiber reinforced material. And it can be successively applied to renewable energy applications using the waste resins of FRP residue without laminated glass fiber.
