  • EOTS(Electro-Optical Tracking System) is utilized in acquiring visual information to assess a guided missile's performance. As the missile travels so fast, it is almost impossible for operator to re-capture the lost target. The RADAR or telemetry data are used to re-capture the lost target however facilities to receive real time data is required, which constrains selection of tracking site. Unlike aforementioned data, pre-calculated nominal trajectory can be used without communication facility. This paper proposes a method to predict lost target's state by employing nominal trajectory. Firstly, observed trajectory and nominal trajectory are compared using DTW and current target's state is predicted. The predicted state is used as observation in Kalman filter's correction phase to predict target's next state. The plausibility of the proposed method is verified by applying on actual missile trajectory.

  • Dissociation into Lithium-polysulfide electrolyte due to repeated cycles during the Lithium/Sulfur battery reaction is a major problem of reduced battery lifespan. We searched for a porous carbon with a large specific surface area that infiltrated S to prevent liquid Lithium-polysulfide from being dissolved in electrolyte, induce adsorption of Lithium-polysulfide, and further increase conductivity. In order to obtain porous carbon spheres with a large specific surface area, the carbon spheres of 1939 m2/g were raised to 2200 m2/g through additional KOH treatment. In addition, through heat treatment with S, a carbon sulfur compound containing 75 wt% of S was fabricate and material analysis was conducted on the possibility of using the cathode material. The electrochemical characteristics of the Reference (622; sulfur: 60%, conductive material: 20%, binder: 20%) pouch cell and the pouch cell made using 75wt% of carbon sulfur compound were analyzed. 75wt% of carbon sulfur pouch cell showed a 20% increase in lifespan and 10% improvement in C-rate compared to the Reference pouch cell after 50 cycles.

  • This paper proposes an EMC-aware PCB design method to reduce electromagnetic emission, where trace length and teturn path of critical signal are shortened by changing chip location and trace layout on the PCB, while additional filters or decoupling capacitors are not required. In the proposed method, signal velocity is calculated for various signals on the PCB. Critical signal with the fastest signal velocity is determined and its return path is shortened as much as possible by placing chip location and trace routing first. Return path of critical signal should be carefully designed not to have discontinuity. Power plane and ground plane should be carefully designed not to be divided, since these planes are the reference of return path. The proposed method was applied to automotive directional Bluetooth speaker which failed to pass CISPR 32 and CISPR 25 EMC tests. Its PCB was redesigned based on the proposed method and it easily passed the EMC tests. The proposed method is useful to EMC-sensitive electronic equipments.

  • This study involves the development of a Hwangto permeable block for rainwater storage tanks. The permeable products that form continuous voids between Hwangto binders and aggregates are fine milled slag powder, which is an industrial by-product generated during the production of Hwangto and iron, and ferro nickel slag. The properties of Hwangto permeable blocks were studied using recycled resource aggregates. The target quality is based on KSF 2394. The Hwangto permeable block for a rainwater storage tank is made of water-permeable material, and the permeability of the Hwangto permeable block itself is 0.1mm/sec or higher, with a physical performance of over 5.0MPa in flexural strength and over 20.0MPa in compressive strength. The physical properties of Hwangto permeable block for rainwater storage tanks were researched and developed. In order to prevent flooding due to heavy rain in summer and the urban heat island phenomenon due to depletion of ground water, continuous pores are formed in the block to secure a permeability function to prevent rainwater from accumulating in the pavement of the floor, and to prevent slippage for comfortable and safe storage.

  • Radars used by air-crafts have two important characteristics; First, they should have a real-time signal processing system finishing signal processing before deadline while getting and processing successive in-phase and quadrature data. Second, they can cover a lot of modes including A2A(Air to Air), A2G(Air to Gound), A2S(Air to Sea), and Ground Map(GM). So the structure of radar signal processing SWs in modern airborne radars are becoming more complicate. Also, the implementation of radar signal processing SW needs to reuse common code blocks between other modes for efficiency or change some of the code blocks into alternative algorithm blocks. These are the reason why the radar signal processing SW framework suggested in this paper is taking advantage of modular programming. This paper proposes an modular framework applicable on the airborne radar signal processing SW maintaining the real-time characteristic using the signal processing procedures for A2G/A2S as examples.

  • Countries worldwide are shifting to a hydrogen economy to respond to stringent environmental regulations, and the transport of hydrogen between countries is expected to increase in the mid- to long-term. Hydrogen is traded between countries in different forms, such as ammonia, liquid hydrogen, and LOHC (Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier), on account of the renewable energy resources in exporting countries, the type of hydrogen use in importing countries, and the technological maturity; however, it is not traded only in a singular form. As marine transportation of ammonia and LOHC is a relatively mature technology compared to that of liquid hydrogen, in this article, we analyzed the technical feasibility of liquid hydrogen carriers while identifying detailed technologies required for their future development and securing possible designs through various technical alternatives.

  • In contemporary days, hydrogen-based energies including batteries are renowned to be effective. And its effectiveness comes from the fact that it possesses high efficiency as an energy carrier. Eco-friendly and high purity of hydrogens comes out from water electrolysis. And among different types of electrolysis, proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolysis is considered the most renewable, cheap, and eco-friendly. It produces oxygen and hydrogens which are feasible in using as energies. Since it has such a number of benefits, increased research is going on in PEM electrolysis. Nafion is widely used as PEM, but high cost and various other disadvantages leads to the exploration of alternative materials. This review is broadly classified into Nafion and non Nafion based PEM for water electrolysis.

  • Deep learning-based face verificattion model show high performance and are used in many fields, but there is a possibility the user's face image may be leaked in the process of inputting the face image to the model. Althoughde-identification technology exists as a method for minimizing the exposure of face features, there is a problemin that verification performance decreases when the existing technology is applied. In this paper, after combining the face features of other person, a de-identified face image is created through StyleGAN. In addition, we propose a method of optimizingthe combining ratio of features according to the face verification model using HopSkipJumpAttack. We visualize the images generated by the proposed method to check the de-identification performance, and evaluate the ability to maintain the performance of the face verification model through experiments. That is, face verification can be performed using the de-identified image generated through the proposed method, and leakage of face personal information can be prevented.
