Physio-chemical Characteristics of Starch Extracted from the Root of Pteridium spp. According to Cultivation Year (고사리 재배년차에 따른 뿌리 전분의 이화학적 특성)

  • 우리나라의 고사리 재배면적은 2018년 기준 5,406ha 수준을 보이고 있으며 전체 산채류 재배면적에서 가장 높은 비중을 차지하고 있다. 고사리(Ferns)는 고사리 속(Pteridium spp.)에 속하는 양치식물의 총칭으로서 우리나라에는 22과 70속 272종이 분포되어 있는 것으로 보고되었다. 고사리의 어린 순에는 가식부 100g 당 칼슘 15.0mg, 칼륨 185.0mg 등이 함유되어 있으며 골다공증, 심혈관 질환 등에 효과가 있고 식이섬유로 인해 변비 예방에도 유용한 것으로 알려져 있다. 고사리 뿌리에서 추출한 전분은 중국 및 일본 등지에서 면류나 제과용으로 이용되고 있어 고사리 재배의 부가가치를 향상시킬 수 있는 방안으로 기대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 고사리의 재배년차간에 뿌리 전분의 생산성과 이화학적 특성을 조사하기 위해 2020년 3월 26일 각 재배년차별로 굴취한 뿌리를 세척 후 고무망치로 파쇄하고 수침 방법을 사용해 추출한 전분의 이화학적 특성을 조사하였다. 재배년차간 고사리 뿌리의 생산성은 5년생과 7년생에서 3,000 kg/10a 이상으로 유의하게 높은 수량을 보였다. 세척한 고사리 뿌리를 24시간 sodiun metasulfite 4% V/W 용액에 수침하여 전분을 추출한 후 24시간 간격으로 3회에 걸쳐 진탕, 침전과 세척의 과정을 거친 후 조사한 전분 추출 수율은 뿌리 생체중 대비 6.8~7.6% 수준이었으며 재배년차간 차이는 없었다. 추출한 전분의 색도분석에서 L 값은 재배년차가 높아질수록 낮아지는 경향을 보였으나 a 값은 3.7~4.8, b 값은 13.5~15.9로서 뚜렷한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 고사리 뿌리전분의 호화특성에서 최고점도는 3년생 고사리 뿌리에서 추출한 전분이 557.4 RVU로 높은 값을 보였으나 재배년차간 통계적 유의성을 인정할 수는 없었으며, 최저검도에서는 5년생에서 추출한 전분이 269.9RVUfh 낮은 경향을 보였다. 또한 최대 점도 시간은 5.0~5.2hr로 재배년차간 차이는 없었으며 호화 저지온도는 67.0~68.9℃ 범위로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 고사리 뿌리에서 채취한 전분의 무기물 함량을 조사한 결과 황의 함량은 1년생에서 0.081%로 유의하게 높았으며, 인산 함량은 3년생에서 72mg/kg으로 가장 높았고 1년생에서 31mg/kg으로 가장 낮은 값을 나타냈다. 칼륨의 함량은 7년생에서 추출한 전분에서 376.3mg/kg으로 높았으나 재배년차 간 뚜렷한 경향을 보이지 않았으며 칼슘, 마그네슙 및 철분 함량에서는 5년생 전분에서 유의하게 높은 경향을 보였다.

Evaluation of Biomass and Feed Value of Forage Wheat in Central Region at the Paddy by Cultivars (중부지역 논 재배 사료용 밀의 품종별 생산성 및 사료가치 평가)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the productivity of whole crop silage wheat utilizing the paddy fields during a couple of years from 2019 to 2021 in Suwon, Korea. This investigation was used the two maturity types of wheat cultivar 'Cheongwoo' (early) and 'Taeu' (late). The heading date of 2nd year (Oct. 2020 to May. 2021) cultivation was delayed about 11 to 13 days by more than 1st year (Oct. 2019 to May. 2020). The growth characteristics were shown that the plant height was increased in 2nd cultivation, while the number of culms and the panicle part ratio were decreased. Moreover, the nutritive value of 'Cheongwoo' and 'Taeu' were also decreased in 2nd cultivation. These changes have thought to a difference of the precipitation by cultivation years. Because, the precipitation during the period from the end of winter dormancy to the harvesting stage in 2nd (337 mm) cultivation was more about twice than 1st (169.3 mm) cultivation. However, the dry matter yield of 'Cheongwoo' was not shown a statistical difference by cultivation years, while 'Taeu' was shown to decrease tendency. The total dry matter yield regardless of the cultivation years were higher in 'Cheongwoo' than 'Taeu', and especially 'Cheongwoo' was more 3 tons per hectare (15.3 t/ha) than 'Taeu' (12.6 t/ha) at 2nd cultivation (p<0.01). The trend of dry weight in 'Cheongwoo', early mature type, showed a relatively high ratio of dry matter (p<0.05) was considered that due to a high panicle ratio by a fast heading and an adequate weight of panicles by a sufficient maturing. In conclusion, selecting the early maturity cultivars could achieve a higher and more stable total dry matter yield considering the cropping system in the central region. Furthermore, it also has the advantage of being able to double-cropping system with forage rice, which has considered the maximum whole-crop forage production year-round. These results suggest that the 'Cheongwoo' be optimum cultivar to produce the year-round forage on paddy fields in the central region.

Effects of Hairy Vetch and Animal Slurry on Growth and Yield of Astragalus membranaceus Bunge (헤어리베치 녹비 및 액상분뇨 시용이 황기 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of the mulching of hairy vetch and pig manure on the growth, yield and crude protein contents of the mulching of hairy vetch and application of animal slurry were treated and investigated in $2000{\sim}2002$. At the first year of cultivation, there were no differences among the treatments in plant height, but second year the growth of plants increased and continued over long times as the hairy vetch mulched and fertilized. The length and diameter of plant root were increased in the plot of hairy vetch mulching and the application of animal slurry. At first year of cultivation, no clear difference was found for among the treatments on dry weight and dry matter ratio in roots. At second year of cultivation, they were increased at in the plot of mulching and fertilizer treatment. The appearances of weeds in the field on Astragalus membranaces were much lower on the plots of live-mulching of hairy vetch than those on the control. The yield of root was 255kg highest in the plot of mulching and animal slurry application of 2-year-old roots. The root yield of Astragalus membranaces was increased about $8{\sim}10%$ compared to that with control, due to supply of nutrients. During the cultivation times, organic matters and N contents in soil increased by the mulching of hairy vetch and the application of animal slurry. The concentration of K, Ca concentration in soil showed a tendency to increase.

Effects of Shading Net Treatment and Planting Density on Growth and Fresh Leaf Yield of Aster glehni (섬쑥부쟁이의 차광망 처리에 재식거리에 따른 생육 및 수량변화)

  • The study was conducted to find out the ways of increasing fresh leaf yield under conditions of the optimum shading net treatment and planting densities of Aster glehni. Although the most effective shading net treatment to acclimatize the plant was 75% shading in 1993, as growing years were prolonged, effects of shading net treatment was not recognized. Ca contents in 75% shading net treatment was much higher than other shading net treatments. Shading effect tend to promote their growth and fresh leaf yield in 1993 even though 75% shading net treatment did not increase fresh leaf yield in 1994 and 1995. Planting density. $30\times20cm$. showed the effectiveness fresh leaf yield for 1994 and 1995 except for 1993.

Effect of Fertilizers on Yield and Paeonol Content of Paeonia moutan Sims (비종(肥種)에 따른 목란(牧丹)의 수량(收量) 및 Paeonol 함량(含量) 비교(比較))

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of fertilizers on yield and paeonol content of Paeonia moutan Sims according to cultivation years. Tested variety was a local cultivar and fertilizer treatments used were compost (3, 000kg/10a), N-P-K (10-10-10kg/10a) fertilizer, fowl dropping manure (100kg/10a), organic fertilizer (200kg/10a) and non-fertilizer. Root yield increased by 12% in N-P-K fertilizer, 18% in compost, 22% in fowl dropping manure and 26% in organic fertilizer treatment compared with non-fertilizer. Increment rate of root yield according to cultivation years from 3 to 6 year cultivation was highest in 5 year cultivation. Paeonol content was highest of 3.08% at October harvest and 3.63% in the fowl dropping manure treatment. Paeonol content was higher at longer cultivation year, but increment rate of paeonol content per year was low from 3 year cultivation. Partial paeonol content of root increased in the order of lower part (3.07%), middle part (2.77%), and upper part (2.38%).

  • The varietal variations of protein and amylose content of rice grown at field and green house were studied. The protein content was negatively correlated with growth duration, and the amylose content was positively correlated with heading date. The environmental variation of the amylose content by cultural season and year was greater in the low amylose varieties than in the high amylose one.

Organic Cucumber Productivity Affected by Long-term Application with Homemade Liquid Fertilizers (자가제조액비 장기연용 처리가 유기 오이의 생산성에 미치는 영향)

  • The study was initiated to compare crop productivity as affected by a long-term application with homemade liquid fertilizers in leading organic cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) farms in Suncheon and Kimcheon provinces. A Suncheon farm have applied an EM (effective organism) liquid fertilizer for one year and fifteen years, designating as EM 1-year and EM 15-year plots, respectively, with 4-year and 5-year application of native microbes-liquid fertilizer in Kimcheon farm, designating as Micro 4-year and Micro 5-year plots, respectively. pH in the EM-liquid fertilizer was high to approximately 7.7, and EC in the Micro-liquid fertilizer was 0.1 dS/m higher than those of EM-liquid fertilizer, with similar macro-nutrient concentrations observed in the both liquid fertilizers. Soil EC was the highest to the 10.0 dS/m for the liquid fertilizer with EM 1-year and showed less than 1.5 dS/m for other liquid fertilizer plots. Micro-liquid fertilizer plots had soil OM contents less than 20 g/kg, which was approximately two times less than those of EM plots. Soil microbial properties were not significantly different among the liquid fertilizer plots. SPAD and PS II values were significantly increased by EM 15-year plots with high levels of soil OM and EC. Liquid fertilizer plot with EM 1-year had high concentrations of T-N, Ca, and Na in the cucumber crops but low concentrations of P and Mg, in particular for low K of 1.2% which was two times less than those of desired level for an optimum cucumber growth. The lowest fruit yield was observed for the liquid fertilizer plot with EM 1-year with the highest soil EC accumulated. Liquid fertilizer plot with EM 15-year produced the expanded volume of crop canopy and increased fruit yield. Therefore, long-term of continuous application with an organic liquid fertilizer would have sustainably improved soil stability and the crop productivity.

  • This experiment study aimed to identify the continuous genetic variation caused by benzyladenine (BA) treatment in strawberry tissue culture. The 'Goha' cultivar was used and treated with different concentrations of BA (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 mg·L-1). Morphological and genetic variation tests were performed, and genetic continuity tests were performed for three years. The morphological variation induced by BA was distinctively high (10.5 ~ 20.0%) and the genetic variation was 7.0 ~ 15.0%, 1.8 ~ 10.0%, and 5.0% in the first, second, and third year of cultivation, respectively. The rate of genetic variation decreased with increasing cultivation years. In addition, genetic variation caused by BA 1.0 mg·L-1 and BA 2.0 mg·L-1 occurred in the first and second years of cultivation, whereas only BA 2.0 mg·L-1 caused genetic variation in the third year of cultivation. Therefore, a concentration of less than 1.0 mg·L-1 BA was used for the propagation of strawberry tissue culture plants, and it was necessary to identify their variation.

No-Tillage Agriculture of Korean-Style on Recycled Ridge III. Changes in Pepper Growth and Biodiversity at Plastic Film Greenhouse Soil in Organic Cultivation of No-tillage Systems (두둑을 재활용한 한국형 무경운 농업 III. 시설 무경운 유기재배 고추의 생육 및 생물다양성의 변화)

  • Hot pepper growth in no-tillage cultivation on recycled ridge was increased by 22% compared with tillage cultivation. At 3 years after no-tillage cultivation, hot pepper growth was increased by 12% compared with tillage cultivation. Dry weight of unripe hot pepper at 2 years of no-tillage cultivation was 348.4 kg/10a increasing 16% compared with tillage cultivation while dry weight of unripe hot pepper was decreased at 3 years of no-tillage cultivation. Bacteria flora at 2 years of no-tillage cultivation was significantly increased compared with tillage cultivation. Bacteria flora was not significantly different at 3 years of no-tillage cultivation. Actinomyces flora at 2 years of no-tillage cultivation was significantly increased compared with tillage cultivation. Actinomyces flora was decreased at 3 years of no-tillage cultivation. Fungi flora at 2 and 3 years of no-tillage cultivation was increased by 1.3 and 1.7 times respectively, compared with tillage cultivation. Generation amount of carbon dioxide at no-tillage cultivation soil was remarkably decreased by 41% compared with tillage cultivation. Population of animalcule in early stage of hot pepper soil was 2 species and 6 individuals on Collembola and Acari at tillage cultivation. Population of animalcule in hot pepper soil was 5 species and 11 individuals including Chilopode at one year of no-tillage cultivation. Population of animalcule in hot pepper soil was 3 species and 5 individuals including Coleoptera and Chilopode at 2 years of no-tillage cultivation. Population of animalcule was 4 species and 40 individuals including Hypogastrurigae and 8 species and 97 individuals including Earwig (Labidura japornica) at 46 days after transplanting on tillage cultivation. Population of animalcule was 9~10 species and 101~107 individuals on no-tillage cultivation. Nature status for environmental change as index organism was 19 points and 33 points, at tillage and no-tillage cultivation, respectively. These results indicate that no-tillage agriculture of korean-style on recycled ridge plays a very important roles on pepper growth, biodiversity of animalcule, and greenhouse gases at plastic film greenhouse soil in no-tillage systems.

  • Effect of eight different treatments to stimulate germination and of seedling ageson the growth and tuber yields of Liriope platyphlla was carried out in vitro(room temperature)and in vivo(field). Treatments, in vitro, of sulfuric acid(2%), $GA_3$(100ppm), and stratification were most stimulated the germination of L.platyphylla. Among them the stratification was also the most effective for emergence in field and was shortened the days to germination in vitro and in vivo. Plant height and the number of leaves and tillers per plant in the sulfuric acid and the vinyl mulch treatments were the poorest, but those in other treatments were highered without any differences. Seeding of L.platyphylla was taken 66 days to emerge and the growth of that was more decreased than that of the seedlings. The younger seedling, the shorter the day of emergence of a new shoot. The olders were bloomed earlier and more increased the growth than the yongers and the divided seedlings, but the tuber yield was most increased in the 3 years seedling.
