A Framework for Provisioning Internet of Things Context-aware Services (사물인터넷 기반의 상황인지 서비스를 위한 프레임워크 설계)

  • The emergence of new types of embedded computing devices and developments in wireless networking are broadening the domain of computing from the work place and home office to other facets of everyday life. This trend is expected to lead to a proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) environments, in which inexpensive and interconnected computing devices are capable of supporting users in a range of tasks. Context-aware computing is a key source to develop such smart services. However, there are many challenges to enable services to be smart; Heterogeneous Computing Environments, Resource Limitations, Large Amount of Data Produced, and Different Requirements for Context Interpretation. Because of these challenges, there are difficulties in providing smart service by utilizing IoT devices. Currently, many researchers are conducting researches on mobile-computing based smart service development and provisioning and network infrastructure for interconnected IoT devices. Still, there are some limitations on developing core technologies for IoT computing based smart service development. In order to remedy this situation, this thesis presents a reusable framework that provides unique and noble features which are required in developing advanced context-aware IoT applications.

  • It is becoming more essential than ever for office professionals to become competent in information processing through fast response to the stimuli and needs coming from the current global business society which is controlled by the speed of improvement of information technology. Office professionals' success in business today depends on the level of job competency and the professional development that are required for problem solving in a global business environment. The main purpose of this research is to design a database for office professionals according to the recent result of DACUM job analysis for office administrators and implement a prototype with various kinds of services in five major categories such as human relationship management, event management, project management, special occasion management, and office knowledge management. The result of this study can be utilized to enhance the levels of both productivity and professionals.

From COREX to FINEX: The Case of Path-revealing Innovation in POSCO (코렉스에서 파이넥스로: 포스코의 경로실현형 기술혁신)

  • This paper examines the development of smelting reduction process in POSCO from 1990 to 2007 with the perspective of post catch-up technological innovation. POSCO paid attention to smelting reduction process as a sort of next-generation iron and steel technology, and implemented COREX (coal ore reduction) by the cooperation with V$\"{o}$oest. In addition to this, POSCO started to develop FINEX (fine iron ore reduction) which can use abundant powder ore, and FINEX was developed through model plant, pilot plant, demo plant, and commercial facility. POSCO came up to innovation leader beyond fast follower by securing almost technologies concerning FINEX. The case of smelting reduction process shows various characteristics including appropriate technological choice, successive scale-up, spiral development system, complementary technological cooperation, long-tenn investment, the existence of top management's leadership, and Korean government's support in early stage. This case can be interpreted as a path-revealing innovation in the middle of technological paradigm change.

  • 과학기술위성 3호의 주탑재체인 MIRIS (Multi-purpose InfraRed Imaging System)는 우주관측카메라 (Space Observation Camera, SOC)와 지구관측카메라 (Earth Observation Camera, EOC)가 독립적인 시스템으로 구성되어 있다. 지구관측카메라는 유효 구경 100 mm, F/5의 광학계로 3-5 마이크론 파장영역을 관측하며, 국내에서 개발된 적외선 검출기의 우주 인증 시험과 유사시 한반도 적외선 감시를 주요 목적으로 하고 있다. 고도 700km에서 지상을 볼 때 약 42m/pixel의 공간분해능을 나타낼 것으로 기대하고 있다. 지구관측카메라의 인증 모델(Qualification Model)은 냉동기를 제외한 모든 부품이 국내기술로 제작되었으며, 미러 본딩 및 릴레이 렌즈 조립 기술, 적외선 영상 검교정 기술 등 다양한 경험과 도전을 제공했다. 이 발표에서는 지구관측카메라 인증모델을 이용하여 수행한 주요 시험 과정을 소개한다. 국내 회사 (주)i3 system에서 제작된 적외선 검출기는 $320\times256$ HgCdTe array (평균 양자효율 80% 이상) 이며 77K에서 정상적으로 운영된다. Micro Stirling Cooler에 의해 듀어는 전원을 켠 후 5분 이내에 검출기 운영온도인 77K까지 내려간다. 적외선 광학계의 정렬, 시스템 MTF 측정, 흑체 측정 및 검교정 작업을 수행한 후 야외에서 다양한 경우에 대해 Field Test를 진행했다. 이 발표에서는 Field Test 과정과 이를 통해 얻은 결과를 발표하고, FM (Flight Model) 제작에 있어 수정해야 할 사항들을 제안해 본다.

Fuzzy Tracking Control Based on Stereo Images for Tracking of Moving Robot (이동 로봇 추적을 위한 스테레오 영상기반 퍼지 추적제어)

  • Tracking and recognition of robots are required for the cooperation task of robots in various environments. In the paper, a tracking control system of moving robot using stereo image processing, code-book model and fuzzy controller is proposed. First, foreground and background images are separated by using code-book model method. A candidate region is selected based on the color information in the separated foreground image and real distance of the robot is estimated from matching process of depth image that is acquired through stereo image processing. The open and close processing of image are applied and labeling according to the size of mobile robot is used to recognize the moving robot effectively. A fuzzy tracking controller using distance information and mobile information by stereo image processing is designed for effective tracking according to the movement velocity of the target robot. The proposed fuzzy tracking control method is verified through tracking experiments of mobile robots with stereo camera.

Performance Comparison of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing and Single Carrier Transmission with Frequency Domain Equalizer in High Speed Mobile Environment (고속 이동 환경 하에서의 직교주파수분할다중화 및 주파수 영역 등화기를 사용한 단일반송파 시스템의 성능 평가)

  • We need to establish standard for the ICT based on train control system. In order to solve the ISI problem, this paper evaluate the performance of OFDM and FDE system. We seem that OFDM system is better than FDE system. In order to solve ISI problem, SC System is needed a equalizer. And another method is OFDM System. If system is used SC with a equalizer, It is better than OFDM in terms of PAPR, but this system is not easy to use Multi-Antenna technique, i.e., beam-forming and MIMO-multiplexing. And If system is used high-order modulation, BER performance is worse than OFDM. If we think about in terms of PAPR problem, considerations are considered not significant because the size of relays is not considered in the communication between trains and ground.

Feature Extraction of Welds from Industrial Computed Radiography Using Image Analysis and Local Statistic Line-Clustering (산업용 CR 영상분석과 국부확률 선군집화에 의한 용접특징추출)

  • A reliable extraction of welded area is the precedent task before the detection of weld defects in industrial radiography. This paper describes an attempt to detect and extract the welded features of steel tubes from the computed radiography(CR) images. The statistical properties are first analyzed on over 160 sample radiographic images which represent either weld or non-weld area to identify the differences between them. The analysis is then proceeded by pattern classification to determine the clustering parameters. These parameters are the width, the functional match, and continuity. The observed weld image is processed line by line to calculate these parameters for each flexible moving window in line image pixel set. The local statistic line-clustering method is used as the classifier to recognize each window data as weld or non-weld cluster. The sequential procedure is to track the edge lines between two distinct regions by iterative calculation of threshold, and it results in extracting the weld feature. Our methodology is concluded to be effective after experiment with CR weld images.

Optimum Blind Control at the End of Operation Time Zone for Preventing Glare on Work-plane and Maximizing Daylight and Solar Heat Gain (작업면 현휘 방지와 주광 및 일사 유입 최대화를 위한 제어 종료 영역에서의 최적 블라인드 제어)

  • The objective of this study is to develop the blind control strategy and method which reduce negative effect of incoming daylight on visual comfort of occupants, minimize psychological anxieties caused by frequent motions of a blind, and maximize positive effect of incoming daylight and solar irradiation by opening/closing of a blind. As previous researches on blind controls have limited outdoor environmental conditions to those in specific regions, orientations and dates, these resulted in problems at various conditions for general-purpose application. Major problem is that the time interval and amount of blind movement do not meet the control objective at the end of control zone and discontinuous curve. To overcome these limitations revealed in the previous researches, following tasks were performed in this study. 1) To establish the control objective to accomplish the goal of this study. 2) To develop the control methods and algorithms which prevent glare on the work-plane at any time and which control the time interval and amount of blind movement to follow the control objective at various profile angle curves. 3) To validate the general-purpose applicability and performance of the developed control methods and algorithms by simulation and its data analysis at various conditions. It was found that the proposed methods and algorithms can prevent the direct glare on the work-plane at all the time and also increase the incoming daylight and solar irradiation.

A Study on the Parallel Escape Maze through Cooperative Activities of Humanoid Robots (인간형 로봇들의 협력 작업을 통한 미로 동시 탈출에 관한 연구)

  • For the escape from a maze, the cooperative method by robot swarm was proposed in this paper. The robots can freely move by collecting essential data and making a decision in the use of sensors; however, a central control system is required to organize all robots for the escape from the maze. The robots explore new mazes and then send the information to the system for analyzing and mapping the escaping route. Three issues were considered as follows for the effective escape by multiple robots from the mazes in this paper. In the first, the mazes began to divide and secondly, dead-ends should be blocked. Finally, after the first arrivals at the destination, a shortcut should be provided for rapid escaping from the maze. The parallel-escape algorithms were applied to the different size of mazes, so that robot swarm can effectively get away the mazes.

Evaluation of Indium-Tin Oxide Thin Film Deposited by DC Magnetron Sputtering Method (DC 마그네트론 스퍼터링 법으로 증착한 Indium-Tin Oxide (ITO) 박막의 특성 평가)

  • ITO 박막은 현재 차세대 디스플레이인 LCD, PDP, ELD 등의 평판 디스플레이의 화소전극 및 공통전극으로 가장 많이 적용되고 있는 소재이며, 최근에는 태양전지의 투명전극으로 그 용도가 더욱 증가되고 있다. 이러한 소자들의 투명 전도막으로 사용되기 위해서는 가시광선 영역에서 80% 이상의 높은 투과도와 낮은 면 저항을 가져야 한다. 광 투과도와 면 저항은 ITO 박막의 증착조건에 따라 변하게 되는데 본 연구에서는 DC 마그네트론 스퍼터링법을 이용하여 Indium-Tin Oxide (ITO) 박막을 제작하고, 제작된 ITO 박막의 전기적 특성과 광학적 특성을 측정하여 공정조건에 따른 박막의 특성 변화를 평가하였다. 증착 조건은 주로 기판 온도와 증착 시간을 변화시켰다. 본 실험에서는 $In_2O_3$ : $SnO_2$의 조성비가 9:1 비율의 순도 99.99% ITO 타겟을 사용하였으며, coming 1737 glass를 30$\times$30 mm 크기로 가공하여 기판온도와 증착시간을 변화시키면서 ITO 박막을 제조하였다. 예비실험을 통해 인가전력 50W, 초기 진공 $2\times10^{-6}$ Torr, 작업 진공 $3.5\times10^{-2}$ Torr, 기판과 타겟 사이의 거리를 10 cm로 고정하였다. 기판 온도는 히터를 가열하지 않은 상온 ($25^{\circ}C$)에서 $400^{\circ}C$까지의 범위에서 변화시켰고, 증착시간은 5분에서 30분까지의 범위에서 변화시켰다. 증착된 박막의 면 저항 촉정을 위해 4 point probe를 사용하였고, 홀 (hall) 계수 측정기 (HMS-300)를 이용하여 홀 계수를 측정하였으며, 또한 박막의 두께는 $\alpha$-step을 사용하여 측정하였다. ITO 박막의 상분석을 위해 XRD를 사용 하였고, SEM을 이용하여 미세구조를 관찰하였다. 실험 결과로는 기판온도 $400^{\circ}C$, 증착시간 15분 이상에서는 면 저항이 모두 $8\Omega$/$\Box$이하로 낮게 나왔으며, 투과율 또한 모두 80% 이상의 높은 투과도를 보였다. 또한 ITO박막의 전기 전도도는 캐리어 농도와 이동도의 측정을 통해 두 가지 인자들에 의해 비례되는 것을 확인하였다.
