Dynamic Modeling Scheme for Control of the Ramjet Propulsion Systems(I) (램제트 추진 시스템의 동적 제어 모델링 기법(I))

  • In this paper, prototype dynamic modeling scheme to control ramjet propulsion systems were proposed. From the physical understandings of engine system, a typical 2nd-order system model was applied to simulate the dynamic characteristics of fuel supply system. The shock location varience in diffuser to chamber pressure fluctuation is calculated so that the out of phase between two signals was observed.

  • A mechanical actuator to generate adjustable force ants its active control algorithm to minimize ship structural vibration are developed. The algorithms comprise initial algorithm which determines optimal phase and force magnitude of the actuator using the variation of vibration response according to the phase difference between the main engine and the actuator, and regulating algorithm which performs continuous optimal control to track the change of the engine speed. This control system can be applied without any prior identification for the dynamic characteristics of the controlled structure. In the control experiments for the deckhouse structural vibration of a 300,000 DWT crude oil carrier and a 2,270 TEU container carrier, the developed system showed good performance to reduce the vibration levels to $1/2{\sim}1/6$ of the uncontrolled levels.

Development of Portable Preconcentration-Gas Chromatography System for Fast Analysis of Trace Benzene, Toluene and Xylene in Air (대기 중 극미량의 벤젠, 톨루엔 및 자일렌의 신속한 분석을 위한 휴대용 농축-기체 크로마토크래피 시스템 개발)

  • An automated on-line portable preconcentration-short column gas chromatograph was developed, which used preconcentrator using adsorption tube with Tenax-GR and Curie-point heating. The developed system operated with 3 steps of processing, preconcentration, thermal desorption, and analysis and cleaning, and could continued operating within 1~2 min cycle. The recoveries of preconcentrator for toluene was ranged between $94.7{\pm}6.6%$ and $103.8{\pm}3.1%$ with less than 7% of RSD. For benzene, toluene and xylene(BTX) standard gas test, IDL was 41, 49, $472ng/m^3$ benzene, toluene and o-xylene, respectively. The BTX mixture was analyzed within 30 sec with baseline separation by the system equipped with 4 m long capillary column. The deficiency of separation power caused by short column was solved by the control of sample injection volume and inlet/outlet pressure ratio. The automated portable preconcentration-short column gas chromatograph system was found to be useful for the continuous air monitoring of BTX at ppb levels in ambient air.

  • 크라이오 워터펌프(CWP)는 크라이오 펌프(CP)와 달리 10 K 활성탄 어레이는 장착하지 않고 100 K 정도로 냉각시킨 배플만을 사용하여 물의 배기속도를 최적화 하는 데 초점을 맞춘 진공펌프다. 용기 압력이 10-9 mbar 대가 될 때까지는 잔류기체의 90% 이상이 수분이므로 다른 기체들의 배기 보다는 물을 잘 배기하는 것이 배기시간을 단축하고 도달 진공도를 낮추는 첩경이라는 아이디어에 근거를 두고 있다. CWP는 물 흡착확률을 거의 1에 가깝게 만들어서 오리피스 컨덕턴스에 육박하는 이상적인 펌프를 제작할 수 있지만 용도상 직부형(close type), 통과형(in-line type) 및 내장형(in-vessel type) 등 세 가지 다른 형태에 따라 성능도 약간씩 다르다. CWP는 모든 기체에 반응하는 정통적인 CP에 비해 훨씬 간단하고 저렴하게 만들 수 있으면서도 진공 시스템에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있지만 물 이외의 기체들을 배기할 펌프가 필요하다는 측면에서 활용에 제약이 있다. 만일 TMP를 이미 사용하고 있거나 작은 TMP를 추가로 달아서 충분히 작동이 가능한 시스템이면서 수분 발생이 많은 곳이나, 또 활성탄의 오염이나 산소 분위기 등 CP 투입이 꺼려지는 환경이라면 CWP 사용이 좋은 선택이 될 수 있다. CWP의 물 배기용량은 CP의 알곤이나 질소 배기용량에 준하는 크기로 0.5g/cm2 이상임이 실험적으로 입증되었다. 따라서 일반적인 상황에서 정상 작동시 대부분의 기체는 TMP로 배출하고 잔류 수분만 포집하므로 CP처럼 주기적인 재생이 필요 없다. 필요하다면 CWP는 금속 표면에 응축된 물을 드라이펌프 작동만으로 쉽게 제거할 수 있고 혹시 오염 물질이 붙어도 세척이 용이하다. 이런 사용상 융통성과 여러 가지 장점에도 불구하고 그동안 물배기에 대한 인식이 미흡하고, 또 부수적이고 추가적인 비용이 드는 것으로 생각되어 주목을 받지 못했지만 디스플레이와 반도체 산업을 필두로 물 분압을 낮추고 생산수율을 높이는 것에 점점 더 관심이 높아지면서 CWP에 대한 수요도 높아지고 있다. 본 보고에서는 20인치 통과형 CWP를 만들고 14인치 TMP에 얹어 복합 진공배기시스템을 구성한 후 물 배기속도와 알곤, 질소 및 수소 배기속도를 측정하고 예측치와 비교했다. 아울러 물 배기용량 측정 및 CWP의 온도제어와 펌프재생 특성 평가 결과도 정리했다.

Development of Mathematical Model for the Cherepnov Water Lifter (CHEREPNOV송수기의 수학적모델 개발)

  • This paper presents a mathematical model which simulates the Cherepnov water lifter, that can lift water without the use of external energy such as electricity. A theoritical study was conducted to reveal the characteristics of the Cherepnov water lifter that was continuously operated with the aid of the siphon. The mathematical model wal composed of the continuity equation and energy equation, and was coded using FORTRAN language. In this study, the govering flow equation of the lifter were derived and the computer programs of the equations were worked out. The accuracy of the theoretical equations and their solutions was checked by laboratory experimentation. The mathematical model that simulate the Cherepnov water lifter is appeared to be good to predict the behavior of Cherepnov water lifter. Therefore, the mathematical model and the simulation method used in this study could be used in designing of the Cherepnov water lifter.

  • In recent years, the importance of the safety of medical device software has been emphasized because of the function and role of the software among components of the medical device, and because the operation of the medical device software is directly related to the life and safety of the user. To this end, various standards have been set up that provide activities that can effectively ensure the safety of medical devices and provide their respective requirements. The activities that standards provide to ensure the safety of medical device software are largely divided into the development life cycle of medical device software and the risk management process. These two activities should be concurrent with the development process, but there is a limitation that the risk management requirements to be performed at each stage of the medical device software development life cycle are not classified. As a result, developers must analyze the association of standards directly to develop risk management activities during the development of medical devices. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the relationship between medical device software development life cycle and risk management process, and extract risk management requirement items. It enables efficient and systematic risk management during the development of medical device software by mapping the extracted risk management requirement items to the development life cycle based on the analyzed associations.

Sidewalls Design for a Double-Passage Cascade Model (2피치 유로의 캐스케이드 모델을 위한 벽면설계에 관한 연구)

  • In a double-passage cascade apparatus, only two blades are installed in order to increase the accuracy of experimental result by applying bigger blade than the size of multi-blades on the same apparatus. However, this causes difficulties to make correct periodic condition. In this study, sidewalls are designed to meet periodic condition without removing the operating fluid or adjusting tail boards. Surface Mach number on the blade surface is applied to a responsible variable, and 12 design variables which are related with sidewall profile control are selected. A gradient-based optimization is adopted for wall design and CFX-11 is used for the internal flow computation. The computed result shows that it could obtain the same flow structure by modifying only the sidewalls of the double-passage cascade apparatus.

Time Synchronization for WSN Nodes Operating on Low-Energy Sleep-Wake Cycles (저 에너지의 취침 기상 사이클로 작동하는 무선센서 네크워크 노드들을 위한 시간 동기화)

  • Previous low-energy time synchronization methods have mainly focused on reducing the number of transmission or reception packets. However, this paper proposes a method that reduces the percentage of time a node has to be awake (the duty cycle), assuming that a periodic sleep-wake cycle is used to conserve energy. Based on our experience with actual WSN devices, a system model is proposed, and the potential performance of the proposed method, with different parameter values, is analyzed. To further demonstrate the feasibility of our method, experiments were conducted using nine WSN devices in a $3{\times}3$ grid network topology. The results show the average synchronization error is 107.57 $\mu{s}$ in duty cycle 5% and synchronization period 10 sec, and 130 $\mu{s}$ in duty cycle 2.5% and synchronization period 20 sec.

  • A track type underwater construction robot(URI-R) which can trench on seabed is being developed by Korea Institute of Ocean Science & Technology. During the underwater trenching work, the robot is exposed high intensive noise and vibration so the underwater localization signal may not be obtained properly by the acoustic tracking system. Therefore it is necessary to research about continuous localization even though the measured position signal comes in intermittently. In this paper, the experiments were carried out on land to simulated the underwater operating environment characteristics. To estimate its position, inertial navigation system and global navigation satellite system are used. The effects of the period variation while localizing is investigated by the experiments, and the application for URI-R is proposed.

  • 본문의 내용은 영구자석을 사용한 단상 브러시리스 모타의 구동을 위한 H-Brdige 구동회로에 적용된 전류제어 회로에 관한 실험결과이다. 부하전류가 목표치 이상인 경우 enable 를 차단하면 순간적으로 센서저항의 전위가 0 으로 되고 이로인해 다시 순간적으로 스위칭이 이루어 지므로 매우 빠른 주기로 스위칭을 반복한다. 이 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 래칭회로를 필요로 하는데, 본 제안에서는 두 개의 NAND GATE 와 하나의 NOT GATE, 그리고 RC network 를 조합하여 LIP-FLOP 과 시지연을 이루는 방법을 실현하였다. 이와 같은 전류제어회로는 constant off time 의 특성을 가지는데, 일반적으로 사용되는 PWM 제어회로에 비하여 매우 단순하면서도, 저항부하 및 모타부하에 대해 공히 능동적으로 작동함을 입증하고 있다. 본문에서는 제안된 전류제한회로의 구조와 H-bridge 구동모드, 그리고 전기적 특성에 대한 연구결과를 설명한다.
