The Effect of Internal Control on Academic Procrastination among Middle School Students: The Moderating Roles of Autonomous Motivation and Parental Pressure on Academic Performance (중학생의 내부통제성이 학업지연행동에 미치는 영향: 자율적 동기와 부모의 학업성취압력의 조절효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether internal control, autonomous motivation of middle school students, and perceived parental pressure on academic performance affect academic procrastination, while verifying the moderating roles of autonomous motivation and parental pressure on academic performance. The participants were a total of 371 middle school students. Academic procrastination, internal control, autonomous motivation, and parental pressure on academic performance were measured using the Procrastination Inventory (Aitken, 1982) revised by Jeon and Park (2014), the Internal-External Control Scale (Ko, 2014), the Academic Self-Regulation Questionnaire (Ryan & Connell, 1989) revised by Kim (2002), and the Scale of Kang (2003), respectively. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and a Process Macro Model 2 (multiple additional modulation effect). The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, middle school students' internal control, autonomous motivation, and perceived parental pressure on academic performance directly affected the students's academic procrastination. Second, the moderating role of parental pressure on academic performance was significant. On the other hand, the moderating role of autonomous motivation was not significant. In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that in order to reduce and prevent academic procrastination it is important to improve internal control by helping middle school students become confident enough to believe that they have the ability to change their behavior and achieve their aims. At the same time, parents need to be interested in the process rather than only the academic performance of their children and support their autonomy.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the negative circumstances of Korean education and to provide some suggestions in terms of cultural psychology. Researcher considered the negative situation as Han(恨) to Korean people and analyzed it with the cultural psychological theories. In Korean culture, Han(恨) could be overcome by Shinmyeong which is known as a Korean unique positive emotional experience. According to results of a recent research, Han has been thought that it was the negative feeling from loss of self-worth, and Shinmyeong might be the feeling related with retrieval of self-worth. On the base of discussion about Shinmyeong, several psychological solutions to negative circumstances of Korean education were proposed.

  • 1997년과 1998년 4월 1일자의 M&A제한규정이었던 증권거래법 제200조의 철폐와 적대적 M&A의 전면허용 그리고 외국자본의 투자제한의 간소화 등 규제완화조치와, 향후 외국인에 대해서 100%까지 주식을 매입할 수 있는 적대적 M&A가 허용될 것으로 보여 우리나라에서도 M&A활동이 보다 본격화 될 것으로 전망되고 있다. 우리나라에서는 1980년대부터 M&A에 대한 관심과 연구가 시작되면서 지금까지 기업합병ㆍ인수의 동기와 효과에 대해서 많은 연구가 이루어져 왔다. 지금까지의 연구내용은 대부분 기업의 M&A동기는 시너지효과를 얻기 위함이며, 또한 공시정보가 합병공시일 전후동안에 주가수익율에 반영되어 합병 당사기업의 주주의 부에 영향을 미치는지의 주가변화 유무에 국한된 것이었다. 또한 1985년부터 1991년 초 사이에 이루어졌던 연구는 당시 국내 M&A 환경이 매우 열악하고 극히 제한된 비정상적인 자본시장 상황 하에서 이루어진 사례에 의한 연구이었기 때문에 연구결과의 문제점과 한계성이 있었고, 실효성 측면에서도 다소 미흡하였다고 할 수 있다. 우리나라 M&A의 성장발전과정을 크게 2단계로 분류한다면, 제1단계는 1975년부터 시작하여 1990년까지로써 이 기간동안의 M&A환경은 그 여건조성과 성숙준비단계였으며, 제2단계인 1990년 초부터 비로소 선진국형 시장경제원리에 근거한 보다 경쟁적이고 자율적인 M&A 시장구조가 형성되면서 활성화 단계로 진입하였다고 볼 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구의 주된 목적은 1990년부터 1996년 사이에 이루어진 상장기업의 M&A 사례를 표본으로 하여 한국에서의 기업합병과 기업인수(주식취득)가 기업가치에 미치는 영향을 구명하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 먼저, M&A 당사기업의 합병성과 발생과 차이 유무를 주가수익율을 측정하여 실증분석하고 다음으로 M&A에 따른 시너지의 잠재적 원천이 어디에 있는지 재무성과분석을 통해서 이를 실증하는데 목적이 있다.PA-designated retailers ("sellers") must accept end-of-life items returned to them by the consumers.   • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of teacher-librarians' autonomy support on the school library users' satisfaction and continuance intention. Based on SDT(self-determination theory), it focuses on the mediating effect of BPN(basic psychological needs) between the autonomy supports and the satisfaction of the school library users. A survey was administered to 331 middle school students and the research model was examined by using regression analysis and Hayes' parallel multiple mediator model. The findings show that the teacher-librarians' support for autonomy directly and indirectly has a positive effect on the students' satisfaction with the school library, and perceived autonomy and competence among the sub-factors of basic psychological needs are found to have a significant mediating effect between the support of the librarian's autonomy and satisfaction with the school library. In addition, students' satisfaction with the school library shows a significant effect on the continuance intention. This study is meaningful in that it presents the role of teacher-librarians as a factor affecting students' motivation to use school libraries and provides implications for revitalizing school libraries.

Research on the Actual Condition of Dental Outpatient Prescriptions (치과 외래처방의 실태 조사)

  • This study investigated the medicines prescribed in dental services in order to provide information and materials on dental clinics and hospitals, for the intention of leading the dental circle to make efforts for voluntary improvement, do adequate prescription, and attempt for bench marking through this unfolding of their tendency in continuous prescription behaviors, and leading the people to have a right recognition on adequate medicine use through this information on their medicine-taking behaviors including antibiotics and injections. From the records of outpatient prescriptions of medicines under health insurance over the period of June 1st to September 31th in 2003 in the 34,226 recuperation institutions, antibiotics and injections were analyzed into administration days, prescription frequency, medicine cost per administration day, the number of medicines per prescription, and the number weight of high priced medicines. The findings were as below: 1. Adminstration days of antibiotics was 90.11% in the dental clinics, which was a decrease than the same quarter and the previous quarter of the previous year. While the prescription frequency of antibiotics was 15.5%, higher than the same quarter and the previous quarter of the previous year. In dental hospitals, administration days and prescription frequency of antibiotics were 71.57% and 21.05%, respectively, a little higher than the previous quarter. Compared to other kind of recuperation institutions, dental clinics and hospitals had higher administration days and lower prescription frequency. 2. For injections, adminstration days and prescription frequency in dental clinics were 0.13% and 0.05%, respectively, which were decreases than the same quarter of the previous year. In dental hospitals, adminstration days and prescription frequency were 1.03% and 0.88%, respectively, a little lower than those of the previous quarter. Compared to other kind of recuperation institutions, dental clinics and hospitals were very lower in injection administration days and injection prescription frequency. 3. The number of prescribed medicines was 2.79 in the dental clinics, which was lower than the same quarter of the previous year but higher than the previous quarter. Dental hospitals put 2.67 numbers of medicines per prescription, an increase than the same quarter of the previous year and the previous quarter. Compared to other kind of recuperation institutions, dental clinics and hospitals put smaller number of medicines per prescription. 4. Medicine cost per administration day was 863 won in the dental clinics, which was an increase than the same quarter of the previous year and in the previous quarter. Compared to other kind of recuperation institutions, dental clinics and hospitals had lower medicine cost per administration day. 5. The number weight of high priced medicines was 46.43% in dental clinics, which was an increase than the previous quarter. In dental hospitals, it was 54.05%, so remarkable an increase than the previous quarter. Compared to other kind of hospitals and clinics, dental clinics and hospitals prescribed larger number of high priced medicines. 6. By districts, the frequency of antibiotics prescriptions was the highest in Kwanju and the lowest in Daejeon. The frequency of injection prescriptions was high in all Youngnam districts as was in the second quarter, while low in all the Metropolitan districts. There was a large variation in the prescription frequency to the districts, as the district of the highest prescription frequency had more than 2 times larger frequency than the district of the lowest frequency. Medicine cost per administration day was the highest in Ulsan but the lowest in the north part of Cholla province. The number of medicines per prescription was the largest in Kyonggi province while the smallest in Cheju-do.

Exploring the Evolution Patterns of Trading Zones Appearing in the Convergence of Teachers' Ideas: The Case Study of a Learning Community of Teaching Volunteers 'STEAM Teacher Community' (교사들의 아이디어 융합 과정에서 나타나는 교역지대의 진화과정 탐색: 자율적 학습공동체'STEAM 교사 연구회' 사례연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the formation and evolution patterns of a trading zone and to explore the difficulties teachers experience in the trading zone and their perceptions of the experience. Seven teachers involved in the 'STEAM Teacher Community' in a middle school located in the southern part of South Korea participated in this study. Participant observation and in-depth interviews were carried out, and reflective essays were collected for analysis. The results show that teachers successfully formed a trading zone to share their expertise when they developed teaching materials for the convergence of different subject matters. Moreover, such a trading zone evolved in the order of pre-trading zone, trading zone under elite control, trading zone with boundary object, and trading zone of shared mental model. The difficulties teachers experienced in the trading zone were categorized under the difference of culture and opinion across subject matters, the lack of motivation for convergence, the hegemony of convergence and far-fetched factors for convergence, and difficulty of communication due to jargons. Also teachers in this study experienced perceptual changes in the trading zone. The trading zone model drawn from the results of this study bring forth implications for voluntary teachers' learning community activity for the convergence of different subject matters.

  • Tasan Chong Yak-yong has criticized Zhu Xi's metaphysical viewpoints of human being. Therefore he revealed his viewpoint of human being and the theory of moral practice through his thoughts about the Lord of Heaven and human nature with spiritual inclination toward goodness. He has drawn the Lord of Heaven into Confucianism again. Heaven as the Lord endows human being with a nature that enjoys virtues and detests vices. It watches human being's good and evil. Here we can say Heaven is a outer efficient cause of moral behavior. According to Tasan, human being has its own 'self directed weight'自主之權 so that he can make a judgment and decision about what to do. Therefore we have to do manifest this moral inclination which is a inner efficient cause of moral behavior. That is to say, we must follow the order of daoxin道心 inside our mind. If we did go against it, our mind would be uncomfortable. Now through the method of so-called shu恕 we need to put filial piety孝 fraternal respect弟 compassion慈 into practice. These three moral practices represent the spirit of reciprocity in Confucianism. These lead us to make an achievement of ren仁, representative virtue in the theory of moral practice. Our moral practice means the fulfillment of humanity. This is the way to serve Heaven. Tasan insists that theses are the core thoughts of Confucius and Mencius.

A Study on the Effect of STAD Group Study using Gradual Self-Leading Learning Materials on the Accomplishments of Math Curriculum (자기주도적 수준별 학습지를 이용한 STAD 협동학습이 수학교과 학습 성취도에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this research is to increase mathematical problem solving abilities VIa STAD evaluation after completing classes. to which ST AD group study is applied, and promoting the learning accomplishments of students by developing gradual self-leading learning materials about the research project on ' How to use an hour math class efficiently\ulcorner ' For this purpose, the items below were studied. Firstly, gradual self-leading learning materials were developed and applied which were composed of textbook abstracts, basic problems, developing problems and intensive problems rather than existing textbooks. Secondly, the ST AD group study model was selected and applied which invokes competitions among small groups of which learning goals were clear. individual responsibility was important. and successive opportunities were equal. The evaluation using STAD at each end of a chapter was announced instantly using the EXCEL scoring system. Though the results of experimental classes were limited in their size. experimental time, and class selection, there were meaningful changes in the aspect of being able to heighten the accomplishment desire of students by inducing voluntary competitions among small groups without any student omitted. As the result of applying this research to my class, the ST AD group study using gradual self-leading learning materials invoked the interests of students and increased learning accomplishments via increasing problem solving abilities in mathematics. The ST AD group study was easy to use by beginning teachers, and its process was simple. It increased interactions among students and learning motives because its compensation system was open to all students. Among various studying methods for small groups. STAD group study is expected to be widely used for mathematics classes.

Inservice Elementary Teachers' Perceptions of Teaching Skills and Educational Settings in Implementing a Problem Based Learning Approach (문제중심학습 교수 실행의 능력과 교육 환경에 대한 초등 교사들의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out inservice teachers' teaching skills and relevant educational settings that could be applied to an instruction of problem-based learning (PBL). Participants have been instructed PBL teacher training programs and applied PBL into teaching and learning process. Three elementary teachers were selected to participate in the study, and data were collected with semi-structured interviews. The interviews of the teachers in relation to PBL were analyzed by two main topics: (1) the teachers' teaching skills required in PBL and (2) the educational settings in implementing PBL. The results are as follows: First, there is a difficulty involved in the implementation of PBL in that its preparation and teaching process are different from the traditional teaching methodology. However, as a helper who guides the students to self-directed learning in the free and permissible learning environment in which students are motivated to develop their potential effectively, the teachers are to invest their time consistently and to put their efforts into making an effective class in the entire process of PBL. Second, as a method to apply the problem-based learning to the education settings, the teachers must spread the awareness of PBL to fellow teachers, students, their parents and the administrators in education and form the community of the teachers. Most importantly, when the teachers apply PBL in the directly, from the joy of witnessing the changes in the students, they will choose to adopt PBL.

The Influence of Worker's Exercise Self-Efficacy, Self Determination, Exercise Behavior On Wellness :Focusing Large-scale Workplace Workers (근로자의 운동자기효능감, 자기결정성, 운동행위가 웰니스에 미치는 영향: 대규모 사업장 근로자를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine to identify factors affecting wellness of workers. This study collected questionnaire data from 172 workers from two large workplaces more than 1,000 workers are located in G city. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient and Hierarchical regression with IBM SPSS statistics 20.0 program. Wellness of worker was correlated with exercise self-efficacy(r=.23, p<.05), autonomous motivation(r=.38, p<.001), exercise behavior(r=.61, p<.001). Hierarchical regression analysis showed that exercise self-efficacy(${\beta}=.34$, p<.001), exercise behavior(${\beta}=.30$, p<.001), subjective health status(${\beta}=-.23$, p<.001), subjective economic status(${\beta}=-.13$, p=.016) explained 57.3%(F=39.29, p<.001) of wellness of workers. Based on the finding, there is a need to develop an intervention program that consider exercise self-efficacy, exercise behavior, subjective health status and subjective economic status.
