This paper was carried out to provide basic data for career search of the free school system. Putting the goal of career education into cultivating expertise, the review was made on the results of the previous studies on the requirements of professional practice. However, As the controversy over the requirements of professional practice has not been solved, so the core elements related to expert performance were examined as a whole through a fundamental cognitive mechanism from which diverse human cognitive characteristics appear. The results show that expert domains consists of content and representation that can exist in an integrated to a great variety of combinations between the two or independent manner, and each domain or field expert performance require different levels of the elements such as intelligence, internal thinking, curiosity (motivation), and obsession (task commitment); and the birth of 1% experts in a domain or field is determined by the obsession. Based on the results, this paper discusses issues related to professionalism and provides a concrete approach to career search during the free semester.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the developmental strategies of information literacy program based on the integrated topics to promote inquiry abilities of middle school students who take part in the free semester system. To that end, the content of the 2015 revised curriculum on a national level was analyzed to develop 6 inquiry themes that incorporate Korean, Social Studies, Music and Art. The instruction and learning guide were consisted of three stages of forming a background knowledge, researching and creating and evaluating the conclusion of the research. The detailed activities for research step were consisted of the four steps of recognition of the problem, information analysis and interpretation, compilation of information and evaluation for each activity. Among the themes "environment" and "appreciation" were applied to a public library and a middle school library as a trial. The trial application saw that students took an interest in programs that subject themes are link with various topics. They were also very satisfied with such programs.

This study developed and proposed a cosmetics education program for middle school students for the free semester policy. The program was conducted for 20 sessions, two hours per week, based on theories and practice, and the teaching-leaning plan was made in the order of introduction, development, and summary. Through the program, students will have an opportunity to recognize the problems of misusing cosmetics and importance of the skin. Also, the program was developed in a way that encourages students to actively participate in the education so that it can lead to career development in the social and technical aspects. This study can provide basic data for students to acquire knowledge and practical education related to skincare and cosmetics use in the future.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of mathematics-centered STEAM program which was operated in free semester system classes on middle school students' interest in science, technology/engineering, and mathematics(STEM) career and integrated problem solving ability. The study was conducted with 40 first graders in a middle school for 12 weeks using mathematics-centered STEAM program developed for the use of free semester system classes by the support of the Ministry of Education/KOFAC in 2016. According to the results of STEM career interest survey, mathematics-centered STEAM program was effective for improving middle school students' interest in STEM career. And it was also effective in the development of students' integrated problem solving ability.

이 연구의 목적은 성격 5 요인(외향성, 친화성, 성실성, 신경증, 지적 개방성) 조절효과를 통한 창업가정신이 중학생의 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 효율적인 창업가정신 교육과 진로교육 방안을 모색하는데 있다. 이 목적을 달성하기 위해 대전에 있는 중학생 500명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하여 얻어진 연구 결과를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 창업가정신(혁신 진취성, 위험감수성)이 높을수록 중학생의 진로태도 및 진로탐색능력은 높아지나, 진로준비행동에 있어서는 창업가정신의 하위요소 중 혁신 진취성만 진로준비행동에 유의한 영향을 준다. 둘째, 성격 5 요인은 창업가정신과 중학생의 진로성숙도의 하위요소인 진로태도에만 유의한 조절영향을 준다. 따라서 성격 5 요인에 따라 창업가정신을 함양할 수 있는 다양한 진로교육 프로그램을 제시하고, 개인의 성격특성 차이를 고려하여 지도한다면 중학생의 진로성숙도가 높아질 것으로 생각된다. 또한 현재 중학생의 진로성숙도를 키우기 위한 프로그램의 일환으로 자유학기제가 전면 실시되어 획일적인 프로그램을 운영하는 학교가 많은데 성격 5 요인에 따라 창업가정신을 함양할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 운영한다면 진로상담 뿐만 아니라 자유학기제 프로그램이 질적으로나 양적으로나 수준이 높아질 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

A total of 2,325 schools including all of the middle and high school have operated variation type since government announced the "Variation Type classroom System Promotion Plan" in May 2009. New education policy, free learning semester of middle school, was introduced after current government took office, followed by extended application of educational policy. Korean students have a low level of happiness and interest in the school due to admissions intensive competition and the investment memorize education and cramming education. Therefore, in consideration of youth development stage, free learning semester system introduction commitment was announced in November 2012, and free learning semester was operated by way of showing an example in 2013, and then expansion implementation plan of 2015 was established, because free learning semester introduction in middle school stage is increasing. This study considers concept and operation method to free learning semester of middle school which are newly introduced, based on the policy documents of Ministry of Education. Also, through the example of Japanese schools, this analyses creativity, personality, social skills, and healthy corresponding to a free learning semester curriculum of middle school, and present method to apply for Korea.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of community-based SSI programs (SSI-COMM) regarding "fine dust" on promoting middle school students' understanding of community issues and their character and values as citizens. SSI-COMM on fine dust was implemented in 4 middle schools located in Seoul, and 151 7th graders participated in the program lasting over 8 weeks. Data was collected through two questionnaires (i.e. students' understanding of issues, and character and values as citizens) and individual interviews with selected students. Results indicated that there were statistically significant increases in their understanding of fine dust issue after the program. In addition, the program significantly contributed to enhancing students' character and values, especially in the domains of social and moral compassion and socioscientific accountability. Student interviews revealed that they became more aware of the local community problems caused by fine dusts and started to consider what efforts should be made to solve them. They also felt individual responsibility for the occurrence of fine dust, and the need for participation and practice of community activities for vulnerable groups in affected areas.

The purpose of this study is to develop a theme-selection activity in 'clothing life' in relation to SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals) for the free semester program. After analyzing the contents of the 'clothing life' area of middle school home economics textbooks based on the SDGs, the content system and learning goals were set. Then a program was developed and the validity and the feasibility of the program were verified. As a result of the analysis of textbooks, the contents of 'clothing life' included all the three basic dimensions of social development, economic growth, and environment protection, yet focus only on 1 or 2 goals of each area. Based on the results of the analysis, a 'Righteous(義) Clothing(衣) Life' program was developed. The developed program consists of teaching-learning process plans and teaching-learning materials in eight class periods, including 'The future everyone dreams of' based on SDG12, 'Two faces of fast fashion' based on SDG1, SDG5, SDG8, SDG10, 'Living as Homoclimatus' based on SDG13, and 'The future we create' based on SDG9 and SDG12. Through the expert evaluation process for the developed program, the program's teaching and learning adequacy and feasibility were reviewed and feedback was actively reflected to correct and supplement the program. Through this study, it is expected that it will contribute to laying the foundation for establishing home economics as a subject that educates citizens who practice sustainable life, and a pivotal subject in education for sustainable development.

본고에서는 창조경제를 실현하기 위한 방안으로서 메이커 문화 확산 및 생태계 구축의 필요성에 대하여 설명하고, 메이커 환경 구축 및 문화 확산을 위한 국내외 동향에 대하여 소개한다. 또 ICT DIY 정책 추진을 위한 미래창조과학부, ICT DIY 포럼, 한국전자통신연구원에서의 창작소 표준체계 구축의 방향과 결과를 소개한다. 이와 함께 국내 메이커생태계를 조기에 구축하기 위한 방안으로 현재 추진 중인 로고창작소의 시범운영 계획에 대하여 소개하고, 아울러 중학교의 자유학기제를 중심으로 오픈하드웨어, 3D 모델링 및 프린팅, 소프트웨어 등 메이커교육 추진 상황을 소개한다.

컴퓨팅 사고력, 정보문화소양 및 협력적 문제해결력 함양을 목표로 하는 소프트웨어 교육, 즉 코딩 교육에 있어서 양질의 강사를 수급하는 것은 교육의 성패를 결정하는 중요한 문제 중 하나이다. 이러한 관점에서 초등학교의 방과후학교, 중학교 자유학기 등의 강사 수급 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 다양한 코딩교육 전문강사 양성 과정이 주목을 받고 있다. 본 연구는 여성가족부와 각 지자체의 여성새일센터 등을 중심으로 개설 및 운영되고 있는 코딩강사 양성 프로그램의 운영 및 개설 현황, 운영 시간, 수강생 특성, 교육과정 등을 분석하고 시사점을 도출하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 코딩교육 전문강사 양성 프로그램의 개발 및 효과성 분석 등의 후속연구로 이어질 수 있다.
