'자연과 환경의 적은 인간이다. 자연과 환경을 파괴하는 인간의 횡포는 없어져야 한다. 자연과 환경파괴를 초래하는 과학과 기술은 제한되어야 한다. 과학자나 기술자도 완전 소멸된 자연자원을 다시 만들 수는 없다. 그래서 우리는 이제부터라도 올바른 생각과 태도로 자연과 환경보호에 앞장서야 한다.' 이것은 자연과 환경파괴에 관련하여 오랫동안 생각하고 느꼈던 나의 소신이다.

사진에 흥미와 관심이 있는 과학을 사랑하는 일선교사들이 자연의 색깔ㆍ형태ㆍ생활습성 등을 카메라ㆍ현미경ㆍ비디오카메라에 담아 자연을 관찰하고 탐구하는 동호인모임인 한국자연과학사진협회는 1994년 2월에 창립하여 폭넓은 활동을 하고 있으며 대학생ㆍ일반인에게도 문호를 개방하고 있다.

This study is intended to investigate and analyze overall information use pattern of researchers and scholars in the field of science and social science, and compare the information use habits between two groups. 300 questionnaires were sent out to 7 major libraries or information centers in the field, and 217 questionnaires were returned. Five hypotheses were tested based on the assumption that there would exist some differences between two groups in their information use pattern. Some commonalities a d differences were revealed as the findings of the study.

신학적 진리나 사회과학적 진리가 '사회의 약속'에 의하여 포장된 진리인 반면 자연과학적 진리는 보편타당성면에서 뛰어난 진리다. 그런데 자연과학을 연구하면서 명예나 어떤 종류의 반대급부를 얻기위한 도구로 이용하려할 때 또는 시작 단계임에도 결과에 대해 과대포장을 할때 자연과학은 때때로 사회나 학문발전에 해악을 끼치기도 한다.

In this study, the views and the meaning of nature between the Western world and East Asia were compared through literature analysis. In the West, it is recognized that nature and human beings are separate. Nature is understood as regular and rational. They, therefore, take the view of particle and mechanical theory. In East Asia, it is thought that nature and humans interact with each other, and take an attitude of compromise and tolerance. Since nature is recognized as an ever-changing being, they, therefore, take the position of wave theory. Scientific knowledge and concepts are accepted depending on the personal view of nature. In Korea, science education follows the view of modern western science without considering the personal pattern of cognition, though students can have various views of nature. The attitude is needed regarding the various viewpoints as rich resources in science and science education.

최근의 자연과학 책들은 몇가지 특징을 보인다. 우선 양적인 팽창과 내용의 다양화를 들 수 있다. 또 국내 저술이 늘고 있는 가운데 정보과학.환경문제에 관한 책에도 관심이 높았다. 학제간 연구의 결과물도 여러 분야의 학자들에게 의미있는 일이었다.

During April, 1991 to September, 1997, ants had been collected in Chiaksan National Park, Kangwon Province. Examining all the collections from this area, 20 species of 11 genera under 3 subfamilies had been identified.
