A case of bullous lung disease disappeared spontaneously (자연소실의 경과를 보안 기포성 폐질환 1예)

  • In general, a bulla of the lung is large, air contained sac and it is more than 1cm in diameter, and its wall is well defined and less than 2mm thick. The natural course of bulla of the lung is said to follow a pattern of progressive deterioration. It is a progressive disease, and spontaneous resolution of bulla is very unusual. In the world only two cases of spontaneous resolution of bulla have been reported. We experienced a case of bullous lung disease complicated from miliary tuberculosis in which the bulla was disappeared spontaneously following bulla infection.

  • 철골건축물은 화재에 취약한 구조로써 내화성능 확보를 위하여 내화피복이 필수적이다. 국내에서 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 철골내화피복재는 내화뿜칠재로 폭 넓게 사용되고 있으나, 기존 제도에서 인정 당시의 내화성능은 확인이 가능하나 시간경과에 따른 내구성저하와 이에 따른 내화성능 저하가 예상된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 실내조건에서 장시간 자연폭로실험을 실시함으로써 내화뿜칠피복재의 시간경과에 따른 내화성능 저하현상을 확인하였다.

Effect of Treatment of Natural Cool Air from an Abandoned Mine on Flower Bud Formation and Flowering of Doritaenopsis 'Happy Valentine' (고온기 폐광 자연냉풍 처리가 호접란의 화아분화와 개화에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to examine the effect of injecting cool air from an abandoned mine during the summer time for the growth of Doritaenopsis. The air temperature of abandoned mine in Boryeong was $12{\sim}14^{\circ}C$. The day and night temperatures were set at $22^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$, respectively, from June to August in the experimental plastic house. This temperature range was within the suitable range for floral induction in Doritaenopsis. Average outside temperature was $28.4{\sim}32.8^{\circ}C$. The 3% of the crop developed flower stalk in 20 days after the treatment initiation, 65% in 45 days, and 100% in 90 days. The flower stalk length was short (48.7cm) in 30 days and long (62.4cm) in 60 days of treatment. The flower stalk length became longer as time passed. Flower spike and number of florets per stalk displayed the same tendency. Number of nodes was 6~7 and was not affected by the period. The first blooming appeared on 15th of September at 45 days and blooming tended to appear late as the period is lengthened. When the cool air from an abandoned mine was injected, the crop formed flower stalk three months earlier and bloomed four months earlier than the untreated control.

Natural Course of Atrial Septal Defect Diagnosed Within the First 4 Weeks of Life (4주 이하 신생아에서 진단된 심방중격결손의 자연경과에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose : The purpose of our investigation was to explore the natural course, and the factors that influence the natural course, in ostium secundum atrial septal defect(ASD) diagnosed within the first 4 weeks of life. Methods : We studied patients with ASD diagnosed within the first 4 weeks of life during the period from September 1995 to September 1999 in our hospital. The diagnosis and measuring of the size of ASD was carried out by two-dimensional echocardiogram(2DE, Hewlett-Packard Sonos $2500^{(R)}$) from subcostal long and short axis views. Results : There were 61 patients - 29 males and 32 females. According to the size of their defects, we divided them into four groups; group A(less than 4 mm : 24 cases), group B(four mm-six mm : 27 cases), group C(six mm-eight mm : six cases), group D(more than eight mm : four cases). In groups A and B, 22 of 24 patients(91.7%) and 23 of 27 patients(85.2%) had each closed spontaneously. In group C, four of six patients had closed spontaneously. In group D, no patient had closed spontaneously and three of four patients had been closed surgically. There were significant differences in the rate of spontaneous closure between less than six mm group and more than six mm group in the size of the defect(P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the rate of spontaneous closure between ASD combined with simple cardiac defect and isolated secundum ASD. Conclusion : We conclude that defects smaller than six mm in diameter are very likely to close spontaneously.

A study on soil drainage characteristics of undisturbed soil columns and their responses to rainfall (불교란 토양칼럼에서의 자연강우에 대한 토양배수특성 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 다양한 토지이용의 불교란 토양칼럼 시료를 대상으로 토양 물리화학 특성 및 자연강우에 대한 토양배수 양상을 분석하였다. 공극률은 토양컬럼에서의 유효공극률과 투수계수 및 자연강우에 대한 배수율과 대체로 정의 상관관계를 보인다. 미국 통일분류법에 따라 토양을 분류하였을 때 소성성이 낮은 실트질 토양과 점토질 토양은 유효공극률이 낮으면서 배수율도 낮고, 소성성이 없는 실트질이 섞인 자갈(유구-논)과 실트질 모래는 유효공극률이 비교적 높으면서 배수율이 다소 높았다. 불교란 토양컬럼을 완전 포화상태에서 자연배수할 때 대부분의 토양은 50시간 전후로 거의 다. 배수되며 $150{\sim}200$시간 경과되면 거의 모든 토양에서 완전배수가 되었다. 일부 500여시간이 경과되어도 지속적으로 배수되는 토양이 있는데 이는 토양수분보유특성에 기인하는 것으로 사료된다. 배수량으로 가정한 함양량 실측실험에서는 오송(전의)임야 > 무주-밭, 무주-논 > 유구-임야 > 김해-밭 > 유구-논, 유구-밭 순으로 높았으며 이들 시료들의 함양률은 50% 이상이었다. 토성에 따른 자연강우 배수상태를 보면, 소성성이 낮은 실트질 토양의 배수율이 낮고, 실트질 모래는 다양한 배수상태를 보이나 대체로 배수율이 높다. 그리고 1차, 2차 실험에서 선행 강우 5mm 미만은 토양배수에 영향을 미치지 않았다.
