공기 보조 연료 분사 장치가 있는 가솔린 기관의 희박 연소에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Lean Combustion of the Gasoline Engine with Air Assisted Fuel Injection System)

  • This paper describes the effect of air assisted fuel injection system(AAI) using compressed air to improve the performance of lean combustion engine. AAI is designed to promote fuel atomization and intake flow. In order to investigate the performance of engine with AAl, experiments are conducted varying the engine revolution speed, lean air-fuel ratio and intake manifold pressure. Compared with the original engine, the performance of the engine with MI is improved as the air-fuel mixture becomes leaner or the engine load becomes lower. The descreasing rate of BSFC is propotional to the relative air-fuel ratio and the lean misfire limit extended more than 0.2 relative airfuel ratio.

  • Feasibility of the small capacity fuel cell powered vehicle is carried out for system design with loading characteristics. The major design concepts which include battery, driving motor, and fuel cell module are analyzed and discussed for the future development. A load characteristics program is developed in order to calculate the traction power of fuel cell vehicle according to the driving courses specified. Further, the small capacity fuel cell vehicle is analyzed to determine the capacity of stack as a function of the velocity for an appropriate power required.

  • This experimental study was performed to find fuel property variations of the ultrasonic energy adding gasoline and improve the spray characteristics of the multipoint injector for EFI engine. The cause and effect of the characteristic improvement of the ultrasonic energy adding fuel was found out by the chemical structure analysis (NMR, IR), distillation and viscosity test. The results are obtained that the chemical property of gasoline organizition was changed aromatics to paraffins and branch index as the physical characteristics of gasoline were improved by ultrasonic energy. There were higher distillation and lower viscosity in ultrasonic energy adding gasoline.

디젤기관의 대체연료로서 DEE의 연소 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Combustion Characteristics of DEE as an Alternative Fuel in Diesel Engine)

  • Nitrogen oxides(NOx) and smoke emissions of diesel engine are regarded as a source of air pollution, and there is a global trend to enforce more stringent regulations on these exhaust gas emissions. However, the trade-off relation of NOx and smoke is a main obstacle to reduce both of them simultaneously. In this paper, experiments were conducted with an oxygenated fuel(diethyl ether) as an effective way to improve the trade-off relation of NOx and smoke. Exhaust emissions of diesel fuels with DEE were influenced by the additive content of DEE and the injection timing. Especially, DEE effected more at the high engine speed and load than at the low engine speed and load. Diesel fuel blended with DEE 10% was a desirable blend for the simultaneous reduction of NOx and smoke.

  • Lately, our world is faced with very serious problems related to the increased air pollution of the exhaust emissions from automobiles. In particular, the exhaust emissions of diesel engines are recognized as a main cause which strongly influence environment. Lots of researchers have attempted to develop various alternative fuels to reduce these harmful emissions in diesel engine. The purpose of this investigation is to evaluate the possibility of esterfied rice bran oil for diesel fuel substitution in a naturally aspirated D. 1. diesel engine, and also find means to reduce smoke emissions in esterfied rice bran oil combustion. The smoke emission of esterfied rice bran oil is reduced remarkably in comparison with commercial gas oil, that is, it was reduced approximately 58.2% at 2500rpm. But, power, torque and brake specific energy consumption didn't have no large differences. It was concluded that esterfied rice bran oil can utilize effectively as an alternative and renew- able fuel fur diesel engine.

  • Exhaust emissions in diesel engine are affected by fuel properties, but the reason for this is not clear. Especially, the recent strong interest in using low-grade fuel such as used vegetable oil as alternative diesel fuel demands extensive investigation in order to clarify the exhaust emissions. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of a used vegetable oil as an alternative fuel in a diesel engine in terms of exhaust emissions. The emission concentration of used vegetable oil such as formaldehyde and acrolein is two times than that of diesel fuel. However, since that of alcohol is ten times than that of used vegetable oil and that concentration is very low, it is not a problem for human health.

  • 최근 주요 자동차 업체들에서 수소 연료전지 자동차의 시장 출시 또는 출시 계획 발표가 이어지고 있다. 하지만 아직까지도 해결되어야 할 몇몇 기술적 문제들이 남아 있다. 시장 출시를 고려할 때 가장 민감한 요소 중 하나가 가격일 것이다. 이를 위해 여러 구성 부품들의 가격 저감이 필요하고, 특히 백금 촉매 사용량을 줄이는 것이 가격 저감에 상당한 영향을 미칠 것이다. 본 논문에서는 PEMFC용 Pt 기반 촉매의 성능 향상 메커니즘에 대해 소개하고 있는데, 촉매 성능의 향상은 촉매 사용량 저감에 상당한 기여를 할 수 있다. 최근까지 발표된 Pt 기반 촉매들의 성능 향상 메커니즘을 이해하는 것은 궁극적으로 연료전지 시스템에 사용되는 촉매 사용량을 절감할 수 있는 기초가 될 수 있을 것이다.

메탄올-가솔린 혼합연료가 엔진성능과 배출물저감에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Methanol-Gasoline Blended Fuel on Engine Performance and Reduction of Exhaust Emissions)

  • This paper presents the effect of methanol blended fuel on the engine performance and the reduction of exhaust emissions. In this wort, the combustion effects of methanol blended fuel in the engine was investigated for the conditions of three kinds of mixing ratios. Based on the experimental results, the output characteristics of the engine show the improvement of output performance due to the blended fuel of methanol. Also, the unburned hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions are decreased in accordance with the increase of methanol blended ratio.

  • The purpose of this study is to analysis of how to calculate fuel efficiency in major development countries (U.S. and Europe) and energy consumption formular derivation of domestic CNG fuel and prove by vehicle test. The formula of fuel consumption is different in mpg(mile per gallon), l/100km, and km/l each countries. CNG fuel has a significant impact on fuel density, composition, and Hydro-Carbon ratio. So, this study how to measurement and calculation procedures of CNG gaseous fueled vehicle energy consumption rate.

LP가스 연료사용 자동차의 국내외 안전관리현황 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Safety Management Status of LP Gas Fueled Vehicles in Korea and Foreign Countries)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내외 LPG 자동차 보급 및 안전관리현황 비교 분석을 통해 국내 LPG 자동차 관련 안전성확보 방향을 제시하였다. 국내 LPG 자동차에 대한 안전관리실태 조사결과 LPG 자동차의 안전성 확보를 위한 제도와 관리실태가 미흡하였고, 실제 약 5천여대의 LPG 자동차에 대한 가스누출 점검결과 약 4% 정도가 누출되고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 LPG 자동차 관련 안전성향상을 위해 국외에서 운영중인 안전기준을 국내에 적용할 필요성을 확인하였다. 따라서, 국내 LPG 자동차 관련 안전성확보 방향으로 최근 경형승용자동차 등에 대한 LPG 연료사용 허용으로 더욱 위험성이 증대된 지하주차공간에 대한 환기 등 시설기준의 개선, 그리고 LPG 자동차 확인 스티커 부착의무화 등 관리체계 개선방안을 제시하였다.
