Forecasting Study for the Future Automotive Design Trend (자동차디자인의 미래 트렌드 예측에 관한 여구)

  • technologies have now placed high hopes and expectations on the significance of design more than in any other time. This is because under current trends where technically and functionally advanced technologies are equalized, our success in the international markets depends on how we can differentiate designs to meet consumers'needs. In this research, we sought to forecast modern and future trends in automotive design, and thus secure competitiveness in automotive design. We first analyzed the movement of design value in respective times following changes in design trends (one aspect of social change in the 21st century), and consequent changes in consumers' value\ulcorner We further compared and researched design trends for automobiles and products by time and region, through surveys, analysis and collation of automotive design phenomena from various aspects recently occurring in advanced countries such as the U.S.A., European national and Japan.

A Study on the Design of Wheel for Car on Human Sensibility Analysis (자동차 휠 디자인에 대한 감성 분석 연구)

  • Modern consumers expect the goods which is sewed more sensitive and emotional satisfaction. It is necessary to apply the knowledge of sensibility analysis to the design of car. The design of wheel for car is regarded as important because consumers want to have unique cars and spend on decorating their cars. This study is to understand the image of consumer's idea about the design of wheel for far through the sensibility analysis that is understood from a part of new design way. According to consumers'needs and emotion, the images of 'harmonious', 'fresh' and 'strong' are representative for the design of wheel for car. The wheel of spoke type stands for the image of 'harmonious', the wheel of mesh type for the image of 'fresh' and the wheel of dish type for the image of 'strong'. Therefore, the emotional image that consumers have of the product is extracted by the sensibility Analysis. In turn, the suggestion of a design direction that satisfies the consumers is possible.

  • This thesis is about design spirit demanded by the 21st century vehicle design studied in consideration of city commuter. First of all, going over the transition of the last century vehicle design led to the arrangement of the changes in vehicle models. Even though the invention of vehicles brought about immense improvement in living standard of the people, it also brought about other factors that were harmful for human living. Through this realization the main fact that should be emphasized is that the vehicles in 21s1 century should not be a threat to the human life or be the main cause for the environmental pollution of the earth. With the question as to whether the vehicles development direction at the beginning of the year 2000 like the Retro design and Hybrid-Compact car development is appropriate to these demands, the development of City Commuter vehicle (the most human and environment-friendly concept which can also serve as the connecting means in transportation system) and its case studies were compared. Through this, the design spirit that should be inherent in environment and vehicle human and vehicle relationships and the design factors needed for the continuous development of the vehicles were arranged.(classified) Rather than suggesting a new direction for the specific style for vehicle design, this thesis is to emphasize that to improve the standard living of the people with vehicle as a product that will be continually produced in the 21st century, the morals and the mission of the designers about the environment and humanity recovery should be the core of the active movement and education of vehicle design.

  • 고도의 기술발전과 함께 한 다양한 형태 및 기능을 지닌 자동차 출현과 더불어 운전자의 감성을 고려한 자동차들이 등장하고 있다. 최근 이러한 변화는 외관의 형태를 우선으로 하는 익스테리어 뿐만 아니라 사용자의 사용성을 고려해야 하는 인테리어 부분에도 적용되고 있다. 그러나 감성을 고려한 자동차 인터페이스 디자인에 대한 연구가 그 기술발전 속도를 따라가지 못하고 있다는 반성의 소리와 함께, 쉽게 과거의 연구결과를 접어둔 채 새로운 기술에만 의존하려는 경향을 보이고 있는 것 또한 사실이다. 이에 인간-기계 시스템에 있어서 운전자의 감성을 고려한 자동차 인테리어 설계에 관한 연구가 다양한 각도로 시행되어야 하는 점과 사용자의 감성을 고려하여 설계된 인터페이스 디자인 검증에 대한 필요성이 인식되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 감성디자인 중 최근 주목 받고 있는 레트로 스타일을 적용한 자동차 인테리어의 인터페이스 디자인을 통하여 새로운 자동차의 인테리어 디자인의 가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다.

  • In the respect of automobile history, the tendency to the development of automobiles for the latest 100 years has been leaded by technical performances. Especially, with the rapid growth of the newest electronic industry, the technical know-hows of automobiles improved in short terms have brought about outstanding results. The differences of the technical know-hows are little between some of the famous automobile manufacturing industries and the rising. So, now, the automobile design became a basis in selecting a car. The latest tendency to automobile style in accordance with the improvement of a universal life quality has been changed to a characteristic design meeting various needs of customers. RV, UV, MPV(and so forth ) meeting their needs made an appearance, or a characteristic model derived from them respectively appeared. We tried to study a new mini SUV-typed-concepcar design with a touch of the next concept. The whole design process from our researches to the end hard model was performed at the Design Center, Daewoo Automobile, based on the automobile design processes. Especially, We styled an automobile concept as inexpensive, characteristic, new one to have a car easily at the young and made an analysis of customers' responses for referring to this study in generating the next SUV-typed-automobile.

  • The Korea's automotive industry has been changed since 1990's for the global reform of the automotive industry even though the rapid growth of domestic market from the late 1980's to early 1990's The cultural understanding for an automobile in the Korea society has been relatively lacked by the political reason, which focused on the economic growth through the industrialization. This works as a limit which caused by the point of view which is concentrated into the automotive industry as an economy developing tool. As much as being observed in the advanced nations which have the long history and huge scale of the automotive industry, an automobile is not only a single product, but also a way of life which has a cultural background. It is possible to develop a competitive quality and design with an understanding the cultural background. And the most important thing to the Korean automotive industry is a uniqueness with the cultural character which is gained by the cultural understanding of automobile as in the public Therefore the contribution of infrastructure of Korean automotive industry and culture would become more important in the future.

표현 기법에 있어서 광원에 응용에 대한 이해

  • 표현 기법, 특히 산업 디자인 전공에서 진행되고 있는 아이디어 스케치 단계 및 렌더링 테크닉에 있어서 흔히 광원(LIGHT SOURCE)의 개념에 대한 정확한 이해가 부족한 경우를 대하게 된다. 주로 제품 디자인이나 운송디자인에 있어서 마커와 파스텔을 사용하여 자신의 아이디어를 시각적으로 구체화시키게 되는데, 이 과정에서 면의 흐름이나 변화를 일관성 있는 가상적 광원의 설정에 따라 정리해나가지 않으면 결과적으로 대단히 애매하고 모호한 스케치나 렌더링이 될 수밖에 없다. 간결하고 정확한 디자인 프리젠테이션을 위해서는 시각적으로 쉽게 이해가 되는 표현기법을 디자이너가 적절하게 구사해야 하는 것이다. 그러면 본격적으로 제품과 자동차디자인 스케치 과정에서 적용되는 본인이 이론을 설명하기로 한다.
