A Study on the Differences of Academic Achievement, Self-Efficacy, and Engineering Self-Efficacy with Gender of Engineering Students (공학계열 대학생의 성차: 학업 성취도, 일반적 자기효능감, 공학 자기효능감을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there were difference between gender of engineering students in terms of academic achievement, self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy. A total of 387 engineering students (male=284, female=103) completed the self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy test. And students self-reported their grade point average(GPA) in their former semester. The results of t-test with gender about academic achievement indicated that there were not differences in academic achievement between gender. The results of MANOVA with grades indicated that there were differences in self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy between gender. Male students scored significantly higher than female students in self-efficacy, and engineering self-efficacy.

  • 본 연구는 창업교육과 창업의지의 관계에서 창업자기효능감과 창의적 자기효능감의 매개역할을 살펴보기 위한 연구이다. 특히 창업자기효능감과 창의적 자기효능감이 각각 창업의지에 미치는 영향력을 비교하여 학문적 시사점은 물론 창업교육을 개발함에 있어 실무적 시사점을 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 창의적 자기효능감은 창의성과 연관되어 있는 요인으로 창의적인 문제해결력을 요구하는 창업과정에 있어 꼭 필요한 요소이다. 해당 영향요인에 관해 살펴보기 위해 본 연구는 연구모형을 구성하고 설정된 연구가설의 검증을 위하여 국내 대학의 학생들을 대상으로 실증 분석을 진행하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통해 창의적 자기효능감의 중요성을 이해하고, 창의적 자기효능감을 향상시킬 수 있는 창업교육 개발의 필요성을 입증할 수 있을 것이다.

Verification of the mediating effect of self-control in the influence of grit on college students' self-efficacy (대학생의 자기효능감에 대한 그릿의 영향에서 자기통제의 매개효과 검증)

  • Purpose of Study : The purpose of this study is to verify whether self-control has a mediating effect on the influence of grit on college students' self-efficacy, which has a significant impact on academic achievement. Research content and methods : In order to verify the influence of grit and self-control on college students' self-efficacy, this study first selected measurement tools for self-efficacy, grit, and self-control and created an online questionnaire. Next, a survey was conducted on 128 students at University A in Chungcheongnam-do. Descriptive statistical analysis and bivariate correlation analysis were performed on the collected data to verify the normality of the data and multicollinearity between factors. In addition, multiple regression analysis was used to verify the influence of grit and self-control on self-efficacy. Next, the effect of grit on self-efficacy was analyzed using structural equation modeling to verify whether self-control mediates it. As a result of the analysis, overall self-efficacy was influenced by the reliability of self-control and academic passion of grit. Self-confidence, a sub-factor of self-efficacy, was influenced by reliability of self-control and academic passion of grit. Self-regulation efficacy was influenced by the reliability of self-control and academic persistence of grit. Preference for task difficulty was influenced by grit, maintenance of academic interest, and self-control. Next, self-control was found to mediate the effect of grit on self-efficacy. Conclusion and Recommendations : This study explored the effects of grit and self-control on college students' self-efficacy. As a result, grit and self-control had a positive effect on self-efficacy. Additionally, self-control was found to mediate the effect of grit on self-efficacy. This study proposes to support grit and self-control in order to support successful academic achievement of college students.

A Study on related factors of nursing students' self-efficacy, self-leadership and academic performance (간호대학생의 자기효능감, 셀프리더십 및 학업수행 관련요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to find the related factors of nursing students' self-efficacy(including general self-efficacy and social self-efficacy), self-leadership and academic performance. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0. The general self-efficacy scores of the subjects in who're admitted according to aptitude, higher school grades, extroverts, and higher leadership were significantly higher than those who weren't. The social self-efficacy scores were significantly higher in younger ages, extroverts and higher leadership. Self-leadership was higher in those who're admitted according to aptitude. Academic performance was significantly higher in the females and higher school grades. Social self-efficacy was positively correlated with self-leadership, and negatively with academic performance. Explanation rate of sex, general self-efficacy and social self-efficacy on academic performance was 10.5%. These results can be applied as a basis for developing guidelines of nursing students' self-efficacy, self-leadership and academic performance after repeated studies.

  • 테크놀로지의 발달에 따라 교육에서 테크놀로지의 중요성이 증가하였지만, 교사와 예비 교사의 테크놀로지에 대한 지식 부족으로 인하여 수업에 테크놀로지를 통합하는 것에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 Kim과 Lee(2018)은 프로그래밍 기반 TPACK 교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발한 TPACK 교육 프로그램은 예비 교사의 지식에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 연구는 진행되었지만, 예비 교사의 자기효능감에 미치는 영향을 명확히 규명하지 못하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 세 집단의 예비 교사를 대상으로 ICT 기반 TPACK 교육, 프로그래밍 교육, 프로그래밍 기반 TPACK 교육 프로그램을 실시하고, 예비 교사의 일반적 자기효능감과 특수적 자기효능감 변화를 관찰하였다. 연구 결과, ICT 기반 TPACK 교육과 프로그래밍 교육을 받은 예비 교사는 자기효능감의 변화가 관찰되지 않았지만, 프로그래밍 기반 TPACK 교육 프로그램을 받은 예비 교사는 일반적 자기효능감과 특수적 자기효능감 모두에서 유의한 향상이 나타났다.

Relationship of Oral Health Behavior to Self-Efficacy among the Elderly (노인의 구강보건행동과 자기효능감의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify general, physical, and social self-efficacy according to oral health behavior among the elderly and examine the factors affecting them. For this purpose, a survey was conducted in 500 persons aged 60 years or older residing in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province from June 1 to August 30, 2013. With the exception of 73 questionnaires that were not completed or contained insincere responses, 427 copies (recovery rate: 85.4%) were analyzed, thus obtaining the following results: 1) In terms of the respondents' socio-demographic characteristics, those who were younger, who were more highly educated, who were married, and who got a larger amount of monthly pocket money showed higher general, physical, and social self-efficacy, with statistically significant differences (p<0.001). 2) The group with good oral health behavior showed higher general and social self-efficacy and that with an average level of oral health behavior showed higher physical self-efficacy, with significant differences (p<0.001). 3) The factor most influential on oral health behavior was general self-efficacy (${\beta}=0.184$), followed by social self-efficacy (${\beta}=0.162$), physical self-efficacy (${\beta}=0.101$).

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of career barriers and social support on the career decision making self-efficacy. It was established the study modeling which shows the moderation effect of social support in the relationship between career barriers and career decision making self-efficacy. The questionnaire has carried out for 307university students. The research findings were follow: There are significant differences in career decision making self-efficacy to sex. but there are non significant differences in career decision making self-efficacy to grade and affiliation. Career barriers has significant influenced on the career decision making self-efficacy. The more they had career barriers, the less they had career decision making self-efficacy. And there exist significant moderating effect of social support. The higher level of social support, the more the effects of career barriers on career decision making self-efficacy.

  • The purpose of this paper was to investigate the relationships among college students' life stress, self-efficacy, locus of control, and subjective well-being. A total of 279 college students participated in this study. It was administered a questionnaire consisting of questioned of concerning life stress, self-efficacy, locus of control, and subjective well-being. The correlation analysis and the analysis of mediating effect were conducted on the data. The main results of data analysis showed (1) correlations among life stress, self-efficacy, locus of control, and subjective well-being, (2) significant mediating effect of self-efficacy between life stress and subjective well-being. The direction of a further study was suggested.

  • 본 연구는 기업가정신이 창업효능감 및 창업의도에 미치는 영향 관계를 규명하고 양자 관계에서 진로결정 자기효능감의 매개효과를 분석하여 시사점을 제공하는 것이다. 선행연구들을 바탕으로 한 실증분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기업가정신은 진로결정 자기효능감에 정(+)의 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 기업가정신은 창업효능감에 정(+)의 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 기업가정신은 창업의도에 정(+)의 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 기업가정신과 창업효능감 및 창업의도 관계에서 진로결정 자기효능감의 매개효과 분석결과 모두 정(+)의 유의미한 매개효과를 보이는 것으로 분석되어 가설 모두 채택되었다.

Effect of Locus of Control and Self-efficacy on Stress of Selected Dental Hygiene Students (일부 치위생과 학생의 통제소재, 자기효능감이 스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine effect of locus of control and self-efficacy on stress of selected dental hygiene students. This study provides basic data to develop a method to reduce stress. The students of A women's college in Kyungi province majoring in dental hygiene were asked to answer the locus of control scale, self-efficacy scale, and stress level. As a result, this study concluded the following findings: 1. Locus of control scale was 8.77 and it meant the students used internal control. Self-efficacy scale was beyond median. In stress level category, mean of stress was 2.32, stress with friends was 2.05, stress with money was 2.33, stress with course in life was 2.29, stress with family members was 2.24, stress with study was 2.95. 2. Stress had negative relations with locus of control and self-efficacy. There was a positive relation between locus of control and self-efficacy. 3. Effect of self-efficacy on stress was significantly negative but effect of locus of control on stress was insignificant. In subscale, effect of self-efficacy and locus of control on stress with study was insignificant. 4. Indirect effect of locus of control on stress was statistically significant. The students with internal locus of control showed high self-efficacy and the students with high self-efficacy showed low stress level. In conclusion, educators should make an effort to reduce stress of students and understand the factors related to stress.
