  • A magnetic field sensor is fabricated with superconducting ceramics of Y-Ba-Cu-O system. The prepared material shows the superconductivity at about 95K. The sensor at liquid nitrogen temperature shows the increase in electrical resistance by applying magnetic field. Actually, the voltage drop across the sensor is changed from zero to a value. more than $100{\mu}V$ by the applied magnetic field. The change in electrical resistance depends on magnetic field. The sensitivity of this sensor is 2.9 ohm/T. The sensing limit is about $1.5{\times}10^{-5}T(=1.5{\times}10^{-1}G)$. The increase in electrical resistance by the magnetic field is ascribed to a modification of the Josephson junctions due to the penetrating magnetic flux into the superconducting material.

  • Needle-like $\alpha-Fe_{2}O_{3}$ particles as precursor for magnetic recording media were prepared directly from amorphous ferric hydroxide in the aqueous solution by hydrothermal reaction. Ellipsoidal or rectangular $\alpha-Fe_{2}O_{3}$ particles were formed in the range of pH 10.75~11.75. The length and acicularity of $\alpha-Fe_{2}O_{3}$ particles were decreased gradually with increasing of citric acid concentration. The formation of needle-like $\alpha-Fe_{2}O_{3}$ particles was inhibited above citric acid concentration of $1.5{\times}10^{-4}\;mol$. We can synthesize $\alpha-Fe_{2}O_{3}$ particles with the most superior acicularity at $140^{\circ}C$ and can not expect a good needle-like particles above $220^{\circ}C$.

  • A precision magnetic field was generated by the NMR magnetometer and electromagnet system. The current and field feedback systems are used to control of magnetic field in the electromagnet using computer. Stability of magnetic field according to results that compare field and current feedback, current method is better than 2 times. The stability of magnetic field with current feedback improved 10 times compared with no feedback. This system is used for the calibration of magnetometers and the testing related to magnetic fields.

  • This study was conducted to describe the relationship and influencing factors among college life adaptation, academic self-efficacy, and department satisfaction of freshman nursing students. There were 345 345 nursing freshman between November 30 and December 4 who participated in this study. The mean score of the college life adaptation, academic self-efficacy, and department satisfaction was $2.91({\pm}0.52)$, $2.79({\pm}0.60)$, and $3.55({\pm}0.47)$. The college life adaptation related with male group (p=.004), entering motivation (p=.027), friendship satisfaction (p<.001), first semester grade (p=.005), and academic self-efficacy related with male group (p=.040), entering motivation (p=.047), desired work (p=.015), friendship satisfaction (p=.014), first semester grade(p<.001), and department satisfaction related with entering motivation (p=.004), friendship satisfaction (p<.001), and first semester grade (p=.002) all showed statistical significance. There was a significant positive correlation among college life adaptation, academic self-efficacy (r=.223, p<.001), and department satisfaction (r=.342, p<.001). A significant and positive correlation was found between academic self-efficacy and department satisfaction (r=.218, p<.001). Department satisfaction was largely influenced by the college life adaptation. The regression model explained 23.1% of college life adaptation. In conclusion, this study showed that college life adaptation of freshman nursing students was correlated with academic self-efficacy and department satisfaction. Moreover, to increase the college adaptation of nursing freshman, it is necessary to develop educational programs to improve academic self-efficacy and department satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine brain structural abnormalities in autistic children. Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) findings in 22 male children with a DSM-Ⅲ-R diagnosis of autistic disorder and 17 non-autistic male control children were investigated. The ratio measures by lineometry was used to examine the cerebrum, midbrain, cerebellum, brain stem and ventricular system. The left to right ratio of the lateral ventricle was larger in autistic children than in controls. The pons was significantly larger in autistic children than in controls, and the cerebellum was smaller in autistic children. There were no significant differences between autistic children and controls in the symmetricity of the fontral lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe and temporal lobe, and in the size of the midbrain and 4th ventricle. These findings suggest that autistic disorder may be related to structural impairment of the brain.

  • We have introduced a new approach to obtain the conductivity information of subsurface using Cagniard impedance over two-dimensional (2-D) model in the presence of horizontal magnetic dipole source with the frequency range of $1\;kHz\~1\;MHz$. Firstly, we designed the method to calculate the apparent resistivity from the ratio between horizontal electric and magnetic fields, Cagniard impedance, considering the source effects when the plane wave assumption is failed in finite source EM problem, and applied it to several numerical models such as homogeneous half-space or layered-earth model. It successfully provided subsurface information even though it is still rough, while the one with plane wave assumption is hard to give useful information. Next, through analyzing Cagniard impedance and apparent resistivity considering source effect over 2-D models containing conductive- or resistive-block, we showed that the possibility of obtaining conductivities of background media and anomaly using this approach. In addition, the apparent resistivity considering source effect and phase pseudosections constructed from Cagniard impedance over the isolated conductive- and resistive block model well demonstrated outlines of anomalies and conductivity distribution even though there were some distortions came from sidelobes caused by 2-D body.

  • Marine magnetic surveys provide a rapid and cost-effective method for pioneer geophysical survey for many purposes. Sea-surface magnetometers offer high accuracy but are limited to measuring the scalar total magnetic field and require dedicated cruise missions. Shipboard three-component magnetometers, on the other hand, can collect vector three components and applicable to any cruise missions. However, correcting for the ship's magnetic field, particularly viscous magnetization, still remains a challenge. This study proposes a new additional correction method for ship's viscous magnetization effect in vector data acquired by shipboard three-component magnetometer. This method utilizes magnetic data collected simultaneously with a sea-surface magnetometer providing total magnetic field measurements. Our method significantly reduces deviations between the two datasets, resulting in corrected vector anomalies with errors as low as 7-25 nT. These tiny errors are possibly caused by the vector magnetic anomaly and its related viscous magnetization. This method is expected to significantly improve the accuracy of shipborne magnetic surveys by providing corrected vector components. This will enhance magnetic interpretations and might be useful for understanding plate tectonics, geological structures, hydrothermal deposits, and more.

  • A blank test was done to calculatee the car itself's magnetic effect as noise and to eliminate it from the data set of total magnetic intensity(=magnetic flux density) exploration in a car-borne magnetic exploration system. To calculate the induced magnetic intensity(= magnetization) and the remanent magnetic intensity(= magnetization) of the car itself, we have installed the magnetometer on a fixed point and measured the magnetic intensity letting the car move around the magnetometer, and we have changed the data set into an analogous data set as if acquired in the condition that we have parked the car on the same fixed point and measured the magnetic intensity moving the magnetometer around the magnetometer. Through an inversion with the later data set as input, we have calculated the magnetic center and the magnetic moments of the induced magnetic intensity(= magnetization) and the remanent magnetic intensity(= magnetization) of the car itself with the two centers coincided because of some barriers of the inversion algorithm that we have used in this study. On the other hand, we have extracted the magnetic anomaly by reducing i. e. vectorially eliminating the induced magnetic intensity(= magnetization) and the remanent magnetic intensity(= magnetization) of the car itself calculated forwardly, from the magnetic exploration data set acquired by the car-borne magnetic exploration system.
