Thermal Annealing Effect on Ferromagnetic Resonance Properties in CoFeB/MgO Thin Film (CoFeB/MgO 박막 재료의 열처리에 따른 강자성공명 특성)

  • We have measured the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) signal in as deposited and $400^{\circ}C$ annealed CoFeB/MgO thin film to investigate the annealing effect on magnetic anisotropies and FMR linewidth (${\Delta}H_{PP}$). The uniaxial anisotropy field ($H_{K1}$) was only observed in the as deposited sample. Whereas, in the $400^{\circ}C$ annealed sample, the biaxial anisotropy field ($H_{K2}$) was additionally observed in accompany with uniaxial anisotropy field ($H_{K1}$). The appearance of biaxial anisotropy fields was originated from the crystalline growth of bcc CoFeB(001) from the MgO(001) interface and by the B diffusion during thermal annealing. Also, the ${\Delta}H_{PP}$ of $400^{\circ}C$ annealed sample was increased compared with that of as deposited sample, which was due to the broad distribution of the magnetization axis by the biaxial anisotropy.

A Study on the Rotation of Uniaxial Anisotropy Field of NiFe Thin Film by Magnetic Annealing (자기장 내 열처리에 의한 퍼멀로이 박막의 일축 이방성 자기장의 회전에 관한 연구)

  • The rotation of uniaxial anisotropy field of 700 ${\AA}$ thick sputtered NiFe thin film due to magnetic annealing was investigated. NiFe film was annealed in a magnetic field which is perpendicular to the initial induced uniaxial anisotropy field. The NiFe film becomes nearly isotropic after 1 hour annealing at 160 $^{\circ}C$. With increase of annealing temperature over 160 $^{\circ}C$, the film gets uniaxial anisotropy field again. An abrupt increase of H$\sub$c/ was observed with annealing temperature over 400 $^{\circ}C$. The X-ray diffraction analysis and Auger electron spectroscopy with Ar ion etching showed extensive grain growth in NiFe film with (111) texturing and interdiffusion with adjacent Au electrode layer by 400 $^{\circ}C$ magnetic annealing.

  • Permalloy thin films fabricated by rf magnetron sputtering showed the excellent magnetic properties, i.e., an effective permeability of over 2000 at 1$\mu\textrm{m}$ thick up to 10 MHz, a saturation magnetization of 10∼12 kG, a coercive force of 0.2∼1 Oe, resistivity (p) is 20 ${\mu}$$\Omega$cm. In order to control the magnetic anisotropy direction of the films in a wafer scale, two parallel Nd-Fe-B permenant mangnets were used to provide the magnetic field during the sputtering process. As a result, the anisotropy direction was successfully controlled when the two magnets were seperated with a distance of 70 mm. 3D simmulation of the magnteic fields around the wafer during sputtering were in accord with the above result.

Electrical Anisotropy of the Okchon Belt Inferred from Magnetotelluric Data (자기지전류 탐사 자료에 나타나는 옥천대의 전기적 이방성 구조)

  • The MT data at the Okchon Belt show peculiar phase responses exceeding $90^{\circ}$. A reasonable explanation is that those responses are due to an electrical anisotropy structure which is composed of a narrow anisotropic block and an anisotropic layer. Considering the dominant anisotropic strikes of the block (NE-trend) and the layer (NW-trend) inferred from the MT data, if existing, the electrical anisotropy in the Okchon Belt was probably produced by the deformations in the pre-Jurassic period, since the NE-trending shearing or thrusting should create alternating bands of metamorphic rocks and fractures with NE-trending. Correlation of the structural strike of 2-D block with the latest EW-trending deformation events demonstrates that the geometrical structure of the anisotropic block was formed by the latest Daebo and Bulgugsa orogeny.

Effects of Sputtering Pressure on the Magnetization Reversal Process and Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy of Co/Pd Multilayered Thin Films (스퍼터링 압력이 Co/Pd 다층박막의 자화반전 및 수직자기 이방성에 미치는 영향)

  • $200{\AA}$ thick Co/Pd multilayered thin films were fabricated by sputtering. Two thicknesses of cobalt sublayer, $2{\AA}$ and $4{\AA}$ were chosen and the effects of sputtering pressure on the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy were investigated. It has been found that the optimum pressure for maximum perpendicular magnetic anisotropy(PMA) existed and the pressure for maximum PMA was lower for the multilayer with $2{\AA}$ cobalt layer than that with $4{\AA}$ cobalt thickness. As the sputtering gas presssure increased, domain wall motion with magnetization became difficult and the predominant mode of magnetization reversal changed from domain wall motion to magnetic moment rotation. It turned out that the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy was higher in case of $2{\AA}$ cobalt thickness than $4{\AA}$ cobait thickness.

Directional conditionally autoregressive models (방향성을 고려한 공간적 조건부 자기회귀 모형)

  • To analyze lattice or areal data, a conditionally autoregressive (CAR) model has been widely used in the eld of spatial analysis. The spatial neighborhoods within CAR model are generally formed using only inter-distance or boundaries between regions. Kyung and Ghosh (2010) proposed a new class of models to accommodate spatial variations that may depend on directions. The proposed model, a directional conditionally autoregressive (DCAR) model, generalized the usual CAR model by accounting for spatial anisotropy. Properties of maximum likelihood estimators of a Gaussian DCAR are discussed. The method is illustrated using a data set of median property prices across Greater Glasgow, Scotland, in 2008.

The spatial neighborhoods within CAR model are generally formed using only the inter-distance or boundaries between the sub-regions. Kyung and Ghosh (2009) proposed a new class of models to accommodate spatial variations that may depend on directions, using different weights given to neighbors in different directions. The proposed model, directional conditionally autoregressive (DCAR) model, generalized the usual CAR model by accounting for spatial anisotropy. Bayesian inference method is discussed based on efficient Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) sampling of the posterior distributions of the parameters. The method is illustrated using a data set of median property prices across Greater Glasgow, Scotland, in 2008.
