  • This article examines factors that influence health and quality of life. In addition to the symptomatology and physiological functioning, the influence of the psychological functioning and interpersonal relationship on the overall health and quality of life are also investigated. Using a case-study approach, a total of 70 patients suffering from allergy or asthma were interviewed using a semi-structured questionnaire developed by the present authors. It assessed the following six areas: Cause and onset of illness, psychological functioning, health management, trust, social support received and overall health and quality of life. Based on the transactional model (Bandura, 1997; Kim & Park, 2005), the results of the case studies have been integrated and divided into three aspects: (1) Cause and onset of illness that includes physiological and environment factors; (2) mediating influences that includes psychological functioning, health management, interpersonal relationship and social support received; and (3) outcome factor that includes symptomatology, health and quality of life. The psychological functioning includes self-efficacy (self-regulated efficacy, efficacy for enlisting social support, efficacy for managing the environment, and efficacy for overcoming difficulties), positive outlook, life goals, experience of stress, and proxy control. Interpersonal relationship includes trust of family members and the physician. Health management includes receiving proper health assessment, following the advice and prescription given by the physicians, control of the environment and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The results indicate that physiological, psychological, relational and environment factors interact with each other and affect individual's overall health and quality of life. Self-efficacy, social support received from family members, trust of physicians, and the health care system are key factors promoting healthy lifestyle and quality of life. The results indicate the need for further interdisciplinary, indigenous and cultural psychological research.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a learning motivation program and to test its effect to provide basic data to be used for freshmen who are going to enter nursing college and various educational strategies and policies for successful university life. In order to develop the program, the contents of the program were structured so as to improve the learning ability, self-directed ability, and social competence through the current research and literature review. As a result, motivation (F=3.45 p=.033), core competence (F=7.35 p=.001), time management (F=9.80 p<.001) and career attitude maturity (F=19.83 p<.001) were significantly increased before the program. This suggests that the composition of the learning motivation program includes various learning strategies unlike nursing and majors.

  • The current study examined the mediating effect of self-efficacy (SE) in the relationship between work ability (WA) and work satisfaction (WS) perceived by reemployed workers who have experienced industrial accidents based on social cognitive career theory (SCCT), and investigated the effect of Industrial accident sequelae and workplace relationships (WR) on these variables. The data of 976 newly employed workers were selected from the data of the Panel Study of Worker's Compensation Insurance collected in 2018. The data were analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling through SPSS and AMOS programs. It was found that WA had a positive effect on WS through SE. In addition, it was found that the level of pain, the severity of the disability, and the activities of daily living had a negative effect on WS through WA and SE sequentially. Meanwhile, it was found that the WR was affected by the activities of daily living, and had a positive effect on WS through WE. These results emphasize that it is important to provide support to manage sequelae and increase SE in order to help victims of industrial accidents return to the job market and live satisfactorily. It also suggests that SCCT is useful in explaining WS of industrially injured workers.

  • Recently, there has been a growing demand for school libraries to take on the role of curriculum convergence and content development. This study purposed to develop a program that integrates reading activities and artificial intelligence (AI) education in a middle school library as a platform for convergence education. The program aimed to enhance creative problem-solving skills by integrating an understanding of AI concepts and principles through reading activities related to AI topics. The program, comprising 18 sessions (6 modules), was implemented with 36 first-year students at A Middle School, Gyeonggi-do, in 2022. After implementation, a paired-sample t-test revealed significant improvements in AI learning self-efficacy and creative problem-solving skills. Participants also showed positive attitudes toward class engagement and reading activities. Implications for AI convergence education in connection with school libraries were discussed.

Data were collected from May to November, 2000, and all subjects were asked to complete the Questionnaires, be measured vital signs and grasping power. Data were analyzed with frequency, percent, paired t-test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SAS(version 6.12) program. The results were as follows : 1) The scores of ADLs were increased from 27.04 to 28.22 after program, and that was statistically significant(p=.005). 2) The scores of IADLs were increased from 18.70 to 19.78 after program, and that was statistically significant(p=.004). 3) The grasping power of right hand were increased from 21.87kg to 26.93kg after program, and that was statistically significant(p=.002). But the grasping power of left hand were statistically insignificant(p=.919). 4) The scores of depression were decreased from 39.63 to 35.30 after program, and that was statistically significant(p=.030). 5) The scores of hope were increased from 30.89 to 34.15 after program, and that was statistically significant(p=.002). 6) The scores of self-efficacy were increased from 67.70 to 76.37 after program, and that was statistically significant(p=.000). • In this paper, we propose a study is to prepare basic data for integrated health promotion education by preventing dry mouth and dry eyes through lifestyle management. From October 7 to 17, 2022, a total of 516 respondents who voluntarily agreed and responded through a self-written structured questionnaire were statistically analyzed for university students in their 20s across the country. As for the factor of feeling dry mouth among the living habits of the study subjects, the more smoking per day, the higher(8.41±2.041) and very high(7.75±2.927) felt dry mouth(p=.015), and the time spent using smart phones. The shorter this was, the lower(1.16±0.784) and very low(1.83±1.672) felt dry mouth(p=.022). The main factors contributing to dry mouth and dry eyes were dry eyes (odds ratio 3.651, p=.000), and high smoking(odds ratio 0.916, p=.038), and the more you use your smart phone (odds ratio 0.256, p=.004), the more you feel dry mouth. When feeling dry eyes, they felt dry mouth more(odds ratio 4.002, p=.000), and the more they exercised, the more dry eyes they felt(odds ratio 1.600, p=.009). As a result, since dry mouth and dry eyes appear as common inconveniences, it was found that lifestyle management is necessary to maintain and promote a healthy life. Therefore, it is proposed to build an integrated health platform that can improve the quality of life and implement personalized health management programs.
