Synthesis of Poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (비닐리덴 플루오라이드와 헥사플루오르프로필렌 공중합체의 합성)

  • Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and its copolymer with hexafluoropropylene (HFP) were successfully prepared from free radical solution polymerizations using diisopropyl peroxidicarbonate (DIPPDC) in the presence of 1,1,2-trichlorotrifluoroethane (R-113). The reactivity ratios of VDF and HFP were estimated as$r_{VDF}=2.06{\pm}0.03$ and $r_{HFP}{\approx}0$. This result indicates that HFP cannot undergo self propagation. The weight-average molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of copolymers were found to decrease with increasing HFP content. The melting temperature of copolymers linearly decreased with the increase of HFP content because of the introduction of HFP. Moreover, no melting peak was observed for the copolymers with high HFP content. The glass transition temperature of copolymers gradually increased with the increase of HFP content due to the restricted flexibility of the polymer chains.

  • Appropriate selection of lifting equipments for a high-rise building construction project is one of the important factors to the project's success. Proper position of a tower crane on a construction site is so important to be determined by an expert or an experienced construction manager who draws working range of a tower crane and moves it over 2D(dimensional) site layout plan. 3D CAD, BIM, and virtual reality are is used for building design and construction, but it is not usual to use them for temporary facility planning or selection of a tower crane. This study proposes a suitable method to use augmented reality to select proper position of tower cranes. An augmented reality prototype is implemented by Vuforia and Unity 3D on a smart device to verify the practicability of the proposed method. The prototype application installed on a smart device shows several tower cranes on different markers in a real architectural drawing to locate the proper tower crane.

  • Scribing is cutting process to determine production amount and characteristic of LED chip. So it is an important process for fabrication of LED chip. Mechanical process and conventional scribing process with laser source has several problems such as thermal deformation, decreasing of material strength and limitation of cutting region. To solve these problems, internal laser scribing process that generates void in wafer and derives self-crack has been researched. However, studies of sapphire wafer cutting by internal laser scribing process for fabrication of LED chip are still insufficient. In this paper, cutting parameters were determined to apply internal laser scribing process for sapphire wafer for fabrication of LED chip. Then, foundation of cutting condition was established to set up internal laser scribing system through investigation of cutting characteristics by several experiments.

  • This paper proposes a way to a risk quantification of public sector comparator in the value-for-money test of the BTL (Build-Transfer-Lease) scheme in rail investment projects. Two principal risks that are project delay and budget increasing costs are identified and are empirically quantified with a case study of the Haman-Jinju link. The methodology suggested is expected to be a good reference for the similar research afterwards and also to help in settling down the scheme that is only an early stage.

  • 제 4차 산업혁명의 시대를 맞아 ICT 융합 차세대 물관리 시스템 관련 기술이 핵심적인 역할을 수행하게 될 것으로 예상되며, 이와 함께 다국적 기업의 시장 진출로 인한 경쟁심화가 예상되고 있다. 한편, 인구증가, 도시성장, 산업발전 및 기후변화에 따른 물부족, 물 수요와 물 공급의 불균형, 수질오염 등은 점점 더 심각해질 것으로 예상되고 있다. 또한, 수자원 산업에서 대상시설의 안전하고 경제적인 운영 및 유지관리를 목적으로 하는 운전, 감시, 진단, 보수, 개선 및 이를 위한 의사결정지원 기술인 운영관리(O&M, Operation and Maintenance) 기술의 중요성이 지속적으로 증가하는 추세이다. 스마트워터그리드(SWG)는 ICT 융복합 첨단 수자원 관리기술로 기후변화에 의한 물 부족과 수자원 인프라 노후화로 인한 효율저하 등 물 문제 해결을 위한 차세대 플랫폼으로 주목받고 있으나, 아직까지 스마트워터그리드 시스템 구축을 위한 장치, 부품, 공정, 설계, 시공 기술 등 주로 요소기술 확보를 목적으로 연구되었으며, 시설의 운영 및 유지관리 연구는 거의 진행되지 않아 효율적인 현장적용이 어려운 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 스마트워터그리드 데모플랜트 시설을 대상으로 운영 유지관리 기술의 고도화 기본방향, 세부 핵심기술, 추진방법 등을 제시하고자 한다. 특히 스마트워터그리드의 핵심기술인 AMI 기반 수운영 시스템을 대상으로 IoT 기반의 고효율 저비용 물 공급 체계 고도화 및 지능형 통합 운영 플랫폼 구축, Hybrid형 다중수원 활용 이동식 물 생산 시스템에 대한 운전제어 자가진단 운영관리 유지보수기술 등 원격 무인 자동화 물 생산시설 기술 고도화 개발방안에 대하여 중점적으로 다루고자 한다.

Design Optimization and Analysis of a RBCC Engine Flowpath Using a Kriging Model Based Genetic Algorithm (Kriging 모델기반 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 RBCC 엔진 유로 최적설계 및 분석)

  • A design optimization method is applied for the flow path design of RBCC engine, an important factor for the determining the propulsion performance operating at air-breathing mode. A design optimization was carried out to maximize the specific impulse of the RBCC engine by using a genetic algorithm based on the Kriging model. Results are analyzed using ANOVA and SOM. Design conditions of ramjet and scramjet mode are selected as Mach number 4 at 20 km altitude and Mach number 7 at 30 km, respectively. The optimized design presents that the specific impulse is increased by 7% and 10% on each condition than the baseline design.

  • Line capacity of railways is a core criterion to decide maximum trips in accordance with traffic demand and a priority in railway investment to improve transportation capability. Particularly, because two operators will start revenue services in the HSR from mid-2016, the line capacity should be carefully calculated and controlled to avoid conflicts between the maximum number of KTXs, and the number needed to guarantee the effective competition of the operators. Meanwhile, there have been many arguments about calculating the line capacity, because this number is affected by the number of trips by train types, stopping pattern and dwell time in each station, journey time, crossing or passing, safety headway between trains, etc. To deal successfully with these kinds of problems, this study proposes a simulation method to calculate the line capacity that considers train operation according to the operator's service policies.

  • Diabetes is a chronic disease that requires continuous medical care and patient-self management education to prevent acute complications and reduce the risk of long-term complications. The worldwide prevalence and incidence of diabetes mellitus are reached epidemic proportions in most populations. Early detection of diabetes could help to prevent its onset by taking appropriate preventive measures and managing lifestyle. The major objective of this research is to develop an automated decision support system for detection of diabetes using mixture of experts model. The performance of the classification algorithms was compared on the Pima Indians diabetes dataset. The result of this study demonstrated that the mixture of expert model achieved diagnostic accuracies were higher than the other automated diagnostic systems.

  • Hydrated liquid crystalline vesicles containing a high content of ceramide were prepared by constituting an optimal composition in which ceramides can be mutually self-associated with phospholipid and cholesterol. From the result of manufacturing various vesicles with different component composition, when the edge activator sodium deoxycholate (SDOC) and the solubilizer PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil (HCO 60) were mixed to form vesicles, the smallest nano-sized particles were produced and the vesicle dispersion solution was weakly acidic and maintained the most stable state. In addition, it was confirmed through polarized light microscopy and thermal analysis that the addition of SDOC and HCO 60 had an effect on the inhibition of crystallinity of lipid components such as ceramide. The stability of the vesicle dispersion solution was maintained without change in appearance and viscosity even after long-term storage at high temperature for eight weeks.

  • This study analyse the safe port warranty undertaking for shipowner of time charterer with the Ocean Victory Case. Litigation ensued between those in the charterparty chain. When the hull insurer, Gard, took an assignment of the rights of the vessel's owners and demise charterers in a claim against the time charterers that the vessel had been ordered by them to an unsafe port in breach of the charter. Although the claim succeeded, the Court of Appeal overturned the decision. The Supreme Court delivered its judgment on May 10, 2017, dealing with three important issues, safe port, joint insurance, and limitation of liability. Especially on the safe port issue, the court held that the port was not unsafe within the meaning of the safe port undertaking so the charterers were not in breach of it. The conditions in the port amounted to an abnormal occurrence as that expression is understood.
