New approximations of the ruin probability in a continuous time surplus process (보험상품 파산확률의 새로운 근사방법)

  • In this paper, we study approximations of the ruin probability in a continuous time surplus process. First, we introduce the well-known approximation formulas of the ruin probability such as Cram$\acute{e}$r, Tijms' and De Vylder's methods. We, then, suggest new approximation formulas of two types, which improve the existing approximation formulas. One is Cram$\acute{e}$r and Tijms' type which makes use of the moment generating function of distribution of a claim size and the other is De Vylder's type which makes use of the surplus process with exponential claims. Finally, we compare, by illustrating numerical examples, the newly suggested approximation formulas with the existing approximation formulas of the ruin probability.

  • Steady-state and transient performance for the medium scale civil aircraft turbofan engine was analyzed. Steady-state performance was analyzed on maximum take-off condition, maximum climb condition, and cruise condition. At 90%RPM of the low pressure compressor, the partload performance was economized. The transient performance was analyzed with cases of the step increase, the ramp increase, the ramp decrease, and the step increase and ramp decrease for the input fuel flow. For the transient performance analysis, work matching between compressor and turbine was needed. Modified Euler method was used the integration of residual torque in work matching equation. At all flight condition, the overshoot of the high pressure turbine inlet temperature was appeared in the step and ramp increase case, and the surge of high pressure compressor was appeared in the step increase case and the ramp increase case within 5.5 seconds of maximum climb condition.

A Study on the Optimal Method for recycling the Waste Electronics' Reverse Logistics (폐전자제품 회수물류 최적화 연구)

  • A short consumption cycle caused by the technological development and the diversification of customer lead to both the dynamic growth of the industry and the waste recycling issue at the same time. Including Korea, the situation is particularly worrisome in some countries, such as India and China, where acute environmental hazards have resulted from a combination of a lack of recycling centers' capacity and the domination of a large backyard recycling sector. A study about to maximize the current recycling center efficiency with minimal changes is required. In this study, we suggest the optimal location selection method for the recycling center based on the well-known reverse logistics cost minimization model. An actual recycling data about a specific electronic equipment and region in Korea are used for the verification of the method suggested.

  • Guaranteed Frame Rate(GFR) service is intended to efficiently support TCP/IP traffic in ATM networks. The GFR service not only guarantees a minimum service rate at the frame level, but also supports a fair share of available bandwidth. The original GFR proposal outlined two switch implementation scheme : FIFO Queuing and perVC-Queuing. In general, it has been shown that FIFO Queuing is not sufficient to provide rate guarantees and perVC-Queuing with scheduling is needed. In perVC-Queuing implementation, scheduling algorithm plays key rule to provide rate guarantees and to improve fairness. We proposed a new scheduling algorithm for the GFR service. Proposed algorithm can provide minimum service rate guarantee and fair sharing to GFR VCs. Computer simulation results show that proposed scheduling scheme provide a much better performance in TCP Goodput and fairness than previous scheme.

  • Safety Critical Instrumentation and Control Systems perform those functions to maintain nuclear power plants' parameters within acceptable limits established for a design basis events and anticipated operating occurrence to ensure safety function. Those digitalized systems shall protect inadvertent and non-malicious behavior to ensure the reliable operation of systems, known as a Secure Development and Operational Environment(SDOE). SDOE would be established through managerial and technical controls. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of Cyclic Redundancy Checksum diagnostic, which is one of technical controls for SDOE, that can confirm the integrity of software of I&C systems to establish the secure environment. The results of this assessment would be the practical implementation of design and safety review of nuclear I&C systems.

On a Pitch Alteration Method by Time-axis Scaling Compensated with the Spectrum for High Quality Speech Synthesis (고음질 합성용 스펙트럼 보상된 시간축조절 피치 변경법)

  • The waveform coding technique has concerned with simply preserving the waveform shape of speech signal through a redundancy reduction process. In the case of speech synthesis, the waveform coding with high sound quality is mainly used to the synthesis by analysis. However, since the parameters of this coding are not classified into either excitation or vocal tract parameters, it is difficult to applying the waveform coding to the synthesis by rule. In order to apply the waveform coding to the synthesis by rule, the pitch alteration technique is required in prosody control. In this paper, we propose a new pitch alteration method that can change the pitch period in waveform coding by scaling the time-axis and compensating the spectrum. This is relevant to the time-frequency domain method were the phase components of the waveform is preserved with a little spectrum distortion of 2.5 % and less for 50% pitch change.

Comparison of Wave Stresses in the Eulerian Nearshore Current Models (오일러형 해빈류 모형의 파랑응력 비교)

  • The Eulerian nearshore current model is more advantageous than the Lagrangian model in the way that numerical results from the Eulerian model can be directly compared with the measurements by the stationary equipment. It is because the wave mass flux is not included in the computed mass flux of Euleran nearshore current model. In addition, the Eulerian model can simulate the longshore currents with depth varying parabolic profile. However, the numerical models proposed by different researcher have different forms of the wave stress terms. For example, wave stresses in Newberger and Allen's (2007) model is constant over the depth, while those of Chun (2012) are vertically distributed. In the present study, these wave stress terms were compared against Hamilton et al.'s (2001) laboratory experiments to see the effects of different wave stress terms performed on the computation of nearshore currents.

  • 최근 애플망고 스마트 농가에 에너지 사용량이 증가됨에 따라 에너지 절감을 위한 대책들과 화석연료를 대체하는 다양한 신재생에너지 도입에 대한 요구들이 늘고있다. 본 연구에서는 애플망고 스마트 농가에 여러 에너지원들을 혼합하여 사용할 수 있도록 실증시험 모델을 구축하고 운영함으로써 그 효용성을 검토하고자 하였다. 우선 애플망고 특성을 고려한 비닐온실의 최대 냉난방부하량과 에너지모델을 분석하여 신재생 에너지원들의 혼합 및 기존 공조설비와의 연계를 계산하였다. 애플망고 시험 농지로는 재배에 적합한 제주도 서귀포를 선정하였으며, 기존의 경유 난방기를 사용하는 비교시험 하우스, 기존의 경유와 태양광, 지하 공기 히트펌프 난방기를 혼합하여 사용하는 실증시험 하우스, 경유와 지하공기 히트펌프 난방기를 사용하는 대조시험 하우스를 10~11월 두 달간 운영하여 그 결과들을 평가하였다. 온실 내외부에 온도, 습도, CO2를 측정할 수 있는 6점의 센서부들을 설치하였고, 적산 전력계와 유량계를 설치하여 데이터를 수집하였으며, 모든 시험 데이터는 모바일 원격으로 제어 및 모니터링이 가능하도록 구성하였다. 시험 결과, 각 하우스들에서 수확한 과실의 수량과 품질은 유사하게 평가되었지만, 실증시험 하우스의 난방비가 비교시험 하우스보다 절감되었다. 하지만 실증시험 하우스의 경우 높은 시설유지비로 인해 이를 고려한 사용료는 비교시험 하우스보다 더 비싸게 평가되었다. 본 연구를 통해 생산된 잉여전력을 매전할 때 이로 인한 이용비는 비교시험 하우스보다 더 경제적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 기존의 경유와 지하공기 히트펌프 난방기를 혼합한 대조시험 하우스의 난방비용이 경제성에서 더 유리함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 애플망고 스마트 농가에 적합한 에너지-믹스 모델을 구축할 수 있었으며, 다양한 신재생에너지들의 효용성들을 검토할 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents the development of dynamically combined Typhoon generated surge-tide-wave numerical model which is applicable from deep to shallow water. The dynamically coupled model consists of hydrodynamic module and wind wave module. The hydrodynamic module is modified from POM and wind wave module is modified from WAM to be applicable from deep to shallow water. Hydrodynamic module computes tidal currents, sea surface elevations and storm surges and provide these information to wind wave module. Wind wave mudule computes wind waves and provides computed information such as radiation stress, sea surface roughness and shear stress due to winds. The newly developed model was applied to compute the surge, tide and wave fields by typhoon Maemi. Verification of model performance was made by comparison of measured waves and tide data with simulated results.

Low-Delay LSF FEC Technique Robust in Lossy VoIP Environment (VoIP 손실 환경에 강인한 저지연 LSF FEC 기법)

  • Media-specific FEC techniques, suggested to confront with VoIP speech packet loss, improve speech quality at the expense of generating additional one-frame delay. In this paper, we suggest new media-specific FEC, i.e, LSF FEC technique which is able to improve speech quality with much shortened additional delay. In the proposed technique, the LSF parameters of the future frame are utilized to recover a lost packet. To evaluate performance of the proposed technique, we use ITU-T G.723.1 and G.729 Codec and apply Gilbert packet loss model and estimate MOS per every packet loss rate using PESQ speech quality estimation algorithm. The proposed technique has effect of shortening delay over from 6.5ms to 27ms compared with existing media-specific FEC techniques. Simulation results for comparison of reconstructed speech quality show this novel technique improves the MOS over 0.1 in practical lossy environment of 5 % packet loss rate.
