Numerical Analysis of Internal Flow Distribution in Scale-Down APR+ (축소 APR+ 원자로 모형에서의 내부유동분포 수치해석)

  • A series of 1/5 scale-down reactor flow distribution tests had been conducted to determine the hydraulic characteristics of an APR+ (Advanced Power Reactor Plus), which were used as the input data for an open core thermal margin analysis code. In this study, to examine the applicability of computational fluid dynamics with the porous model to the analysis of APR+ internal flow, simulations were conducted using the commercial multi-purpose computational fluid dynamics software ANSYS CFX V.14. It was concluded that the porous domain approach for some reactor internal structures could adequately predict the flow characteristics inside a reactor in a qualitative manner. If sufficient computational resources are available, the predicted core inlet flow distribution is expected to be more accurate by considering the real geometry of the internal structures, especially upstream of the core inlet.

  • This study is about an arrangement method of trapezoidal pre-cast segment lining that can be applied in shield tunnel construction. Trapezoidal segment lining is formed by assembling tapered pre-cast concrete segments taking advantage of the tapered shape of pre-cast segments upon delivery on site. By calculating tapering of the segments manufactured in single type and rotating the segments when putting them together, a variety of tunnel alignments can be arranged in the most efficient way. Once the design criteria and tunnel alignment (straight or curved) is analyzed, the sequence of assembling trapezoidal segments in compliance with tunnel alignment will be computed. On site an operator can utilize the softwareto automatically determine sequential arrangement of trapezoidal segments. When the actual arrangement of segmental lining is different from the computed output, the operator can input the actually measured values to coincide the computerized calculation with the real status of assembly. Then the adjustment will be the basis of subsequent arrangement of segments, thus the continuity of work can be guaranteed.

Face Detection Using Region Segmentation on Complex Image (복잡한 영상에서의 영역 분할을 이용한 얼굴 검출)

  • In this paper, we propose a face detection method using region segmentation to deal with complex images that have various environmental changes such as mixed background and light changes. To reduce the detection error rate due to background elements of the images, we segment the images with the JSEG method. We choose candidate regions of face based on the ratio of skin pixels from the segmented regions. From the candidate regions we detect face regions by using location and color information of eyes and eyebrows. In the experiment, the proposed method works well with the images that have several faces and different face size as well as mixed background and light changes.

Aircraft 4D Trajectory Model for Air Traffic Control Simulator (항공교통관제 시뮬레이션을 위한 항공기 4D 궤적모델 개발)

  • This paper presents air traffic control simulation model for generating 4D trajectory, and aircraft dynamic model based on 4D trajectory information. With aircraft parameters from BADA and Total Energy Model, the trajectory is defined through modified Bezier curve and the simulation supports two aircraft control methods based on controlled time of arrival (CTA) or airspeed. The simulation results shown that flight time and path were almost identical to the defined trajectory, and derived the differences of each control methods according to wind conditions. Based on the simulation model developed in this study, it is expected to be applied to various air traffic management researches. Future studies will focus on applying optimization techniques in order to minimize the difference between generated trajectories and actual flight routes. This work will increase utilization of developed simulation futhermore.

A Study on the Fabrication and the Impedance Matching of SPUDT Type SAW Filter (단상 단방향 형태의 표면탄성파 필터 제작 및 임피던스 정합)

  • We have studied to obtain the SAW filter for the Single Phase Unidirectional Transduce. (SPUDT), was formed on the Langasite substrate and was evaporated by Aluminum-Copper alloy and then we performed computer-simulated by simulator. We can fabricate that the block weighted type IDT as an input transducer of the filter and the withdrawal weighted type IDT as an output transducer of the filter from the results of our computer-simulations. Also, we have performed to obtain the properly conditions about impedance matching of the SAW filter for SPUDT. We have employed that the number of pairs of the input and output IDT are 50 pairs and the thickness and the width of reflector are 5000A and $3.6{\mu}m$, respectively. And the width of IDT' fingers is $2.4{\mu}m$, and the space between IDT' finger and reflector is $2.0{\mu}m$. Frequency response of the fabricated SAW filter has the property that the center frequency is about 190MHz and bandwidth at the 3dB is probably 7.7MHz after when we have matched impedance. Also, we could obtain that ripple characteristics is less than 0.4dB and standing wave ratio is probably 1.5 after when we have matched impedance.

An Enhanced Overload Control Mechanism for the Distributed Switching System supporting Various Types of Call Services (다양한 호 서비스를 고려한 분산형 중계교환기의 과부하 제어 기법)

  • Even many kinds of Internet-based services have been generated due to the great development of the Internet. PSTN still exists in the center of the national infrastructure network and the transit exchanges will be maintained the core roles in PSTN for many years in the future. These transit exchanges often suffer from unexpected overload situation because they have to process Intelligent Network calls and mobile calls additionally as well as POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service). In this paper, we suggest an efficient overload control algorithm for the distributed transit switching system under the various types of call services. We also show that this algorithm can be implemented easily cooperating with the network management control functions. The simulation technique is used to show that the proposed algorithm effectively controls calls and maintains safely the call processor's load under the various kinds of overload situations.

  • 낙동강은 4대강 살리기 사업에 의해 8개의 보(상주보, 낙단보, 칠곡보, 강정보, 달성보, 합천보, 함안보)가 하천 내에 건설되고 약 4억톤의 준설이 실시되면서 지형적으로 막대한 변화를 맞이하게 된다. 낙동강은 상류의 안동댐 및 임하댐에서 방류수, 중류의 구미 및 대구 등의 오염원 그리고 하류의 남강에 의한 영향 및 낙동강 하구언에 의한 정체에 의한 영향으로 지역적으로 수질 및 수리 특성이 서로 다르게 나타나고 있다. 낙동강에 건설되는 수중보들 또한 이러한 유입 및 경계 조건에 따라 서로 다른 수질특성을 나타낼 것으로 판단되며 이에 대한 영향을 미리 예측하고 발생 가능한 악영향에 대한 대안을 수립하는 것이 중요하다고 본다. 본 연구에서는 낙동강의 4대강 사업에 의한 지점별 및 시기적 영향을 정확하게 분석하기 위해 3차원 수리동역학 모델 EFDC와 수질모델 WASP을 연계하여 사용하였다. 연구대상지역은 안동댐 방류지점에서 낙동강 하구역까지의 총 334km의 지역을 포함하였으며 하천의 폭 방향, 수심방향 및 흐름방향에 대하여 3차원으로 격자를 구성하여 하천을 표현하였다. 수리 및 수질 보정에 필요 한 입력자료는 국토해양부 및 환경부 등에서 발표 된 자료를 이용하였으며 2007년을 기준으로 모의를 실시하였다. 4대강 살리기 사업에 의한 8개의 보 건설 및 낙동강 전역의 준설의 영향을 예측하여 사업 전 및 사업 후로 각각 구분하여 비교하였으며 사업 후 체류시간의 증가와 준설로 인한 수심증가에 따른 복합적인 원인에 의해 수질에 영향이 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 사업 후 낙동강의 각 수중보 출구 부근 지점에서 예측된 수질 특성은 사업전에 비하여 $BOD_5$는 전반적으로 감소하나, TN 및 TP 는 유사한 특성을 나타내었다. 그러나 Chl-a 농도는 상류와 중류에서는 체류시간의 증가로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며 이는 수질이 양호한 상류 지역에서 특히 큰 차이를 나타내는 경향으로 분석되었다. 그러나 낙동강 하구언 지역은 Chl-a 농도가 사업에 의해 약간 감소되는 경향을 나타내어 여타 구간과 다른 경향을 나타내었다. 이는 낙동강 하류의 Chl-a 농도가 이미 매우 높은 상태에서 체류시간에 의한 성장 촉진 보다는 수심증가로 인한 광량제한 효과가 더욱 지배적으로 나타난 것에 의한 영향으로 추정된다.

  • 제방은 하천의 범람으로부터 제내지의 인명, 가옥, 재산, 각종 시설 등을 보호하고 유수의 원활한 소통을 유지하기 위해 하천을 따라 축조한 구조물로서 침식 피해를 방지하기 위해 호안을 설치하도록 규정하고 있다. 호안은 만곡부, 하천 급경사, 지형의 간섭효과 등에 의한 유수의 침입으로부터 제방 및 하안을 직접 보호하기 위해 제방 앞비탈에 설치되는 구조물을 의미한다. 따라서 호안의 안정은 곧 제체의 안정과 직결되는 요소라 할 수 있다. 호안의 안정성은 역학적인 측면에서 외력과 저항력의 크기에 따라 평가할 수 있다. 국내 실무에서 적용되고 있는 호안설계 방법은 하천설계기준 해설(2009)에 제시되어 있으며, 경험과 이론의 양면을 고려하여 설계를 수행하도록 하고 있다. 이로 인해 호안 안정성에 대한 역학적인 검토 방법의 한계 때문에 과대 또는 과소 설계의 우려가 있다. 따라서 호안설계시 유속 및 소류력의 크기에 따른 정량적 평가기법이 요구되는 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 호안의 정량적인 설계기법 개발을 위하여 수리실험을 통해 유속증가로 인한 호안재료의 이탈현상을 재현하였다. 실험수로는 폭 2 m, 길이 25 m, 수로경사 1/300의 직선수로 형태이며 우안의 1:2 경사면에 다양한 크기의 사석과 블록을 차례로 설치하여 실험을 수행하였다. 수리실험은 다른 하상변동 요인이 제한된 고정상으로 수행되었으며 정상류 흐름조건에서 유량을 변화시키며 유속변화 등 흐름현상에 의한 호안재료 이탈을 관찰하였다. 실험결과를 바탕으로 호안설계시 1차원 접근유속을 대표유속으로 적용하는 방법의 특성을 파악하고, 호안재료의 이탈유속과 흐름특성간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 또한, 호안설계시 입력자료로 사용될 수 있는 단면평균유속과 2차원적 국부유속과의 상관관계를 파악하여 호안의 정량적 설계기법에 활용될 제원결정 경험식을 제안하였다.

  • A new active lossless snubber for half-bridge dual converter(that is called'dual converter') is proposed in this paper It features soft switching(ZVS) as well as turn-off snubbing in both main and auxiliary switches. Therefore, it helps the dual converter to operate at the higher frequency with a higher efficiency and smaller-sized reactive components. Moreover, since it uses parasitic components, such as leakage inductances and switch output capacitances etc, to achieve the ZVS of power switches, it has simpler structure and lower cost of production. The operational principle, theoretical analysis, and design consideration are presented. To confirm the operation, features, and validity of the proposed circuit, experimental results from a 200w, 24V/DC-200V/DC proto-type are presented.

Assessment on the Possibility of Increase of SB5-B Small Car Impact Velocity (SB5-B 소형차 충돌속도의 상향 가능성 평가)

  • Satisfying the large car impact condition of the high level SB5-B for "SMART Highway" longitudinal barriers, the possibility of increase of the small car impact velocity from 120km/h to 130km/h was investigated. Through computer simulation using input parameters calibrated to full-scale crash test results, various longitudinal semi-rigid barrier models were improved such that for the small car impact speed of 120km/h the change of longitudinal and transverse velocities of the impact vehicle can satisfy the THIV limit. The barrier model determined through this process satisfied the performance assessment criteria for SB5-B impact conditions. Varying the wing angle of slip block-outs of the passed barrier model, the possibility of increase of the small car impact velocity was investigated by FEA and a full-scale crash test was conducted. It has been shown that the possibility to increase the small car impact speed to 130km/h is high if the test facility condition for 130km/h impact velocity is better equipped.
