  • The most concerning issue of these days is the energy crisis by increasing threat of dependency on foreign oil and its volatility itself. In the situations, the PHEV is drawing attention for the next generation's car which could give a chance to decrease the dependency on foreign oil. As well as, the Korean electric power infrastructure is a strategic national asset that is under utilized most of the time. With the proper changes in the operational paradigm, it could generate and deliver necessary energy to charge the PHEVs which could penetrate the market within few years. In doing so, it would reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve the economics of the electricity industry, and reduce the energy dependency. This paper investigate the technical potential and impacts of using the existing idle capacity of the electric infrastructure in conjunction with the emerging PHEVs technology to meet the majority of daily energy needs of the Korean LDV fleet.

  • The floor slabs of building structures are often subjected to the periodic force which is induced by vibrating machines or human activity(walking, jumping, running etc). These periodic forces cause excessive oscillation. In order to examine the dynamic characteristics of floor slabs, the dynamic characteristics test is accomplished. Generally, the Impact Hammer and Dynamic Exciter test is used to dynamic characteristics test. But the Impact Hammer test is not suitable to apply in building slabs. In this paper, It compared the performance of the Exciter and Impact Hammer test for dynamic characteristics analysis of floor slabs.

  • The technology for characteristics analysis of device for high integration is changing rapidly. Therefore to understand characteristics of high integrated device by computer simulation and to fabricate the device having such characteristics became one of very important subjects. As devices become smaller to submicron, we have investigated MOSFET built on an epitaxial layer(EPI) of a heavily-doped ground plane by TCAD(Technology Computer Aided Design) to develop optimum device structure. We compared and analyzed the characteristics of such device structure, i.e., impact ionization, electric field and I-V characteristics curve with lightly-doped drain(LDD) MOSFET. Also, we presented that TCAD simulator is suitable for device simulation.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact accuracy and kinematic parameters of skill level and eye-tracking type during putting strokes. For comparison, five elite golfers and five novice golfers participated in this study. Three-dimensional kinematic data were collected for each subject while 10 putting trials were performed for each skill level and eye-tracking type. The APAS system was used to compute the impact accuracy and kinematic parameters of putter heads. The putting stroke was divided into three phases: back swing, downswing, and follow-through. The findings indicated that significant differences were found in skill level as it affected the rate of success. For impact accuracy and the displacement of putter heads, a significant difference was found for the skill level, particularly in backs-wing and follow-through. In addition, the displacement of the putter head had a greater influence on stroke accuracy than on velocity.
