  • The demand for measures to enhance the safety of maritime transportation is growing internationally, and coastal shipping companies are pursuing sustainability by establishing various maritime safety policies. Increased awareness of the safety management system and safety culture of coastal shipping companies will minimize accidents and increase corporate sustainability. This study empirically analyzed the impact of a safety management system (safety policy, risk management, and safety guarantee) on the corporate sustainability of coastal shipping companies through the mediation of safety culture. The survey questions for each variable were constructed based on previous research and a dministered to 204 employees of coastal shipping companies. Analysis founed that safety policy did not have a statistically significant effect on safety culture, but risk management and safety guarantees had a positive significant effect on safety culture, which in turn had a positive and significant effect on sustainability. Furthermore, we found that safety culture has a mediating effect on the relationship between risk management and safety guarantees and sustainability. Coastal shipping companies thus need to systematize and strengthen risk management and safety assurance to increase safety culture awareness, and increased safety culture awareness can also increase sustainability.

  • The view of social responsibility activities from the pioneer studies found that most research is mainly limited to the corporate social responsibility activities. The related studies on the individual level are very few. Therefore, it is very necessary to make a clearer and more systematic empirical research for the global companies whose employees are directly involved in the companies' social responsibility activities. In order to find the relationship between variables, we collected data from chinese employee of Korean firms which located in China. The result of empirical test is as follows; First, the social responsibility activities of the individual level have a significant positive effect on the employees' job satisfaction and organization inputs. In other words, social responsibility activities could improve the employee's job satisfaction and organization inputs. Second, innovative organizational culture of South Korean companies has a significant positive effect on the individual level social responsibility activities. Third, transformational leadership of the CEO in South Korean have no effect on personal level social responsibility activities. Fourth, the CEO'S ethical values have great positive effect on personal level of social responsibility activities. Through the analysis we can see, in the process of global corporate implicating social responsibility activities, the CEO'S ethical values are more important than the transformational leadership of the CEO. Finally, in the relationship between the employees' personal ethical values and personal social responsibility activities, the employees' personal ethical values in South Korean companies have great positive effect on the personal level social responsibility activities.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between vertical leadership and shared leadership, organizational trust and innovation resistance. For this purpose, a regression analysis was conducted based on data from 286 questionnaires completed by employees working in IT companies. As a result of the analysis, both shared leadership and vertical leadership showed a negative relationship with innovation resistance. For organizational trust, it was confirmed that there was a mediating effect in the relationship with innovation resistance. Shared leadership seems to form a stronger negative relationship with innovation resistance than vertical leadership, it was found that shared leadership is more effective in lowering innovation resistance. Therefore, if the strengths of vertical leadership and shared leadership are applied complementary to each other on the basis of organizational trust in promoting innovation, it will be a good way to overcome innovation resistance, which is a barrier to innovation success. To overcome innovation resistance, especially in IT startups, we propose the complementary application of vertical leadership and shared leadership based on organizational trust.

  • This study investigates the IPI (Information Protection Intention) of DHS (Digital Healthcare Service) providers by introducing PMT (Protection Motivation Theory). This study examines the effects of protection motivation, such as threat appraisal and coping appraisal, on IPI, such as ICI(Induction Control Intention) and SDI(Self Defense Intention). The research model, based on the PMT, adopted severity, vulnerability, reaction efficacy and self-efficacy as independent variables. The research model was validated through quantitative research, a survey of 222 DHS providers in South Korea, using structural equation modeling. The results show that (1) a clear awareness of the consequences of security threats increases the understanding of DHS providers on the severity of closure of healthcare information, and thus may decreases abuse of DHS by providers; (2) user confidence and satisfaction on the security system may make them be confident that they can handle the closure of healthcare information by themselves; and (3) although DHS providers are realizing the consequences of closure of healthcare information, they think that they are unlikely to encounter such situations. As a result of this study, venture companies that provide DHS need to provide contents that can continuously increase providers' security level in order to increase providers' information protection intention. It suggests that IPI is important through trust of healthcare service providers.

  • Over recent years, 6 Sigma has become a key methodology in manufacturing for quality improvement and cost reduction. However, challenges have arisen due to the difficulty in analyzing large-scale data generated by smart factories and its traditional, formal application. To address these limitations, a big data-based 6 Sigma approach has been developed, integrating the strengths of 6 Sigma and big data analysis, including statistical verification, mathematical optimization, interpretability, and machine learning. Despite its potential, the practical impact of this big data-based 6 Sigma on manufacturing processes and management performance has not been adequately verified, leading to its limited reliability and underutilization in practice. This study investigates the efficiency impact of DX SS, a big data-based 6 Sigma, on manufacturing processes, and identifies key success policies for its effective introduction and implementation in enterprises. The study highlights the importance of involving all executives and employees and researching key success policies, as demonstrated by cases where methodology implementation failed due to incorrect policies. This research aims to assist manufacturing companies in achieving successful outcomes by actively adopting and utilizing the methodologies presented.

  • Knowledge service firms are able to have higher 'Organizational Performance (OP)' by improving efficiency in management processes on customer problem solving. This study explores the role of inefficiency that has been overlooked up to now compared to the management process efficiency. We also suggest in this study 'Hierarchical Culture (HC)' and 'IT Relatedness (IR)' as the factors influencing the inefficiency of management processes, and propose the moderating effect of 'Task Difficulty (TD)' on the relationship between independent factors and 'Inefficiency of Business Process(IP)'. The results of analysis show that 'HC' has a positive effect on 'IP', and 'IR' has a negative effect on 'IP'. 'TD' was significant moderator of between independent variables and 'IP'. 'IP' was shown to play a full mediating role between independent factors and 'OP'. In conclusion, knowledge service firms are desired to reduce 'HC' and enhance 'IR' by minimizing unnecessary formal procedures, securing flexibility in decision making through appropriate empowerment, creating a smooth flow of knowledge, and enhancing the level of IT resource management and utilization. In addition, in order to effectively reduce 'IP', it is required that a company with a high degree of 'TD' to more reduce a 'HC' and a company with a low degree of 'TD' to more enhance a 'IR'.

  • This study is an empirical study analyzing the effects of positive psychological capital on job burnout. In addition, positive psychological capital played a role in organizational citizenship behavior, and tried to verify the role of organizational citizenship behavior as a black box, or parameter, between job burnout. And then, the sub-factors of organizational citizenship behavior were divided into two: individual-oriented organizational citizenship behavior and organization-oriented organizational citizenship behavior. To this end, a questionnaire survey was conducted for members of small and medium-sized enterprises to compare and analyze the relationship between variables. Positive psychological capital is increasing interest in that it can reduce the job burnout of members and embrace the propensity of young generations represented by millennials because it can improve the effectiveness by developing positive mental states and strengths of the organization. There is a need for research as a keyword. As a result of this study, first, it was found that positive psychological capital of SME(small and medium-sized enterprises) members had a positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Second, positive psychological capital was found to have a significant negative effect on job burnout. Third, it was a verification of how positive psychological capital and organizational citizenship behavior affect job burnout. In the relationship between positive psychological capital and job burnout, organization-oriented organizational citizenship behavior was found to play a mediating role. However, it was found that individual-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors among the organizational citizenship behaviors are not valid. In this study, positive psychological capital and job burnout, which have been mainly studied in service workers' emotional workers(crew, nurses, counselors, etc.), nursery teachers, and social workers, were applied to SME members by using the parameters of organizational citizenship behavior. You can put that implication on things. The positive psychological capital and organizational citizenship behavior can be further enhanced through SME members' love for the company, improvement of consideration among employees and resulting organizational commitment and work performance. It could also provide momentum for sustainable management for small and medium-sized enterprises that are relatively short of capital and resources.
