Nonlinear Analysis of RC Beams under Cyclic Loading Based on Moment-Curvature Relationship (모멘트-곡률 관계에 기초한 반복하중을 받는 철근콘크리트 보의 비선형 해석)

  • A moment-curvature relationship to simulate the behavior of reinforced concrete beam under cyclic loading is introduced. Unlike previous moment-curvature models and the layered section approach, the proposed model takes into consideration the bond-slip effect by using monotonic moment-curvature relationship constructed on the basis of the bond-slip relation and corresponding equilibrium equation at each nodal point. In addition, the use of curved unloading and reloading branches inferred from the stress-strain relation of steel gives more exact numerical result. The advantages of the proposed model, comparing to layered section approach, may be on the reduction in calculation time and memory space in case of its application to large structures. The modification of the moment-curvature relation to reflect the fixed-end rotation and pinching effect is also introduced. Finally, correlation studies between analytical results and experimental studies are conducted to establish the validity of the proposed model.

  • 본 논문에서는 BP(Back Propagation)에 비해서 빠른 학습시간과 다른 경쟁학습 신경회로망 알고리즘에 비해서 비교적 우수한 성능으로 패턴인식 등에 많이 이용되고 있는 LVQ(Learning Vector Quantization) 알고리즘의 성능을 향상시키기 위한 방법을 논의하고자 한다. 일반적으로 LVQ는 음(negative)의 학습을 하기 때문에 초기 가중치가 제대로 설정되지 않으면 발산할 수 있다는 단점이 있으며, 경쟁학습 계열의 신경망이기 때문에 출력 층의 뉴런 수에 따라 성능에 큰 영향을 받는다고 알려져 있다.[1]. 지도학습 형태를 지닌 LVQ의 경우에 학습패턴이 n개의 클래스를 가지고, 각 클래스 별로 학습패턴의 수가 같은 경우에 일반적으로 전체 출력뉴런에 대해서 (출력뉴런수/n)개의 뉴런을 각 클래스의 목표(desired) 클러스터로 할당하여 학습을 수행하는데, 본 논문에서는 각 클래스에 동일한 수의 출력뉴런을 할당하지 않고, 학습데이터에서 각 클래스의 분산을 추정하여 각 클래스의 분산을 추정분산에 비례하게 목표 출력뉴런을 할당하고, 초기 가중치도 추정분산에 비례하게 각 클래스의 초기 임의 위치 입력백터를 사용하여 학습을 수행하는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 분류하고자 하는 데이터에 대해서 필요한 최적의 출력뉴런 수를 찾는 것이 아니라 이미 결정되어 있는 출력뉴런 수에 대해서 각 클래스에 할당할 출력 뉴런 수를 데이터의 추정분산에 의해서 결정하는 것으로, 추정분산이 크면 상대적으로 많은 출력 뉴런을 할당하고 작으면 상대적으로 적은 출력뉴런을 할당하고 초기 가중치도 마찬가지 방법으로 결정하며, 이렇게 하면 정해진 출력뉴런 개수 안에서 각 클래스 별로 분류의 어려움에 따라서 출력뉴런을 할당하기 때문에 미학습 뉴런이 줄어들게 되어 성능의 향상을 기대할 수 있으며, 실험적으로 제안된 방법이 더 나은 성능을 보임을 확인했다.initially they expected a more practical program about planting than programs that teach community design.   • An increasing number of vehicles is causing various traffic problems such as chronic congestion of highways and air pollution. Local governments have been managing traffic by constructing systems such as Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) to relieve such problems, but construction of an infrastructure-based traffic system is insufficient in resolving chronic traffic problems. A more sophisticated system with enhanced operational management capabilities added to the existing facilities is necessary at this point. As traffic patterns of the urban traffic flow is time-specific due to the different vehicle populations throughout the time of the day, a local network-wide signal operation plan that can manage such situation-specific traffic patterns is deemed to be necessary. Therefore, this study is conducted for the purpose of establishment of a plan for contextual signal control management through signal optimization at the network level after setting the Frame Signal in accordance to the traffic patterns gathered from the short-term traffic forecast data as a means to mitigate the problems with existing standardized signal operations.

Comparison of the Effect of the Interpolation Function on the Performance of the Noise Source Imaging Technology (소음원 영상화 기술의 성능에 보간 함수가 미치는 영향 비교)

  • To find the location of a random noise source present in the three-dimensional space is required at least four microphones. Using four microphones distributed in a three-dimensional space, noise source imaging technique was applied and evaluated on their performance. To compensate resolution problem which comes from both the position of the sensor array is fixed and the sampling frequency is low, up-sampling technique and interpolation function were applied. Five different interpolation methods were applied such as zero-padding, zero-order hold, first-order hold, spline function, and random signal padding. The up-sampling rate were chosen by two, four, eight times, and counting up 16 times. As a result, it was possible to more accurately estimate the position of the noise source according to the higher of the up-sampling rate. It also found that the first-order hold and the spline function's performance were slightly falling relative to other methods.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate what kind of activities by specialized highschool students who have a sense of learned helplessness do after school, and then to inquire if there would be any of differences between their school activities and after school activities. The students in J specialized highschool for vocational education, located in D city participated in the program of improving learning motivation for students with learned helplessness. We selected 15 out of them as the subjects who were judged to be suitable for this study through 'Convenience sampling'. The research methods of this study is qualitative research methods by observation and in-depth interviews. The results are as in the following. First, daily activities after school of the specialized highschool students with learned helplessness can be divided into 3 groups; leisure activities, learning activities, and sustenance activities. Most of the students spend a lot of time doing leisure activities such as playing with a computer, watching TV, doing something with their friend, and killing time. Secondly, the character of daily activities after school of the specialized high school students with learned helplessness is different from that of the students' school activities connected with their daily activities after school. Based on the results we need to consider the character of the students' daily activities after school so as to help the students with learned helplessness, especially in specialized school.

Nonlinear Thermo-mechanical Analysis Considering Heat Flow under Fire Conditions (화재 열 유동을 고려한 구조물의 열응력해석)

  • In this study, a numerical analysis framework for investigating the nonlinear behavior of structures under fire conditions is presented. In particular, analysis procedure combining fire-driven flow simulation and thermo-mechanical analysis is discussed to investigate the mechanical behavior of fire-exposed representative volume structures made of steel and concrete, respectively. First of all, fire-driven flow analysis is conducted using Fire Dynamics Simulator(FDS) in a rectangular parallelepiped domain containing the structure. The FDS simulation yields the time history of temperature on the surface of the structure under fire conditions. Second, mechanical responses of the fire-exposed structure with respect to prescribed uniformly distributed loads are calculated by a coupled thermo-mechanical analysis using the time-varying surface temperature as boundary conditions. Material nonlinearities of steel and concrete have been considered in the thermo-mechanical analysis. A series of numerical results are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the multiphysics structural fire analysis for investigating the structural behavior under fire conditions.

A Study on Phatic Communication of Korean Community in Residential Life Space (한국적 집단공동체 주거생활공간에서의 친교적 커뮤니케이션 활동고찰)

  • This research is to investigate phatic communication by puting the purpose in maintaining and strengthening social relationship among people in groups in Korean residential community space. Phatic communication is the activity for friendship, expressing and sharing the tastes, expectations, and common features of residents by inducing the participation of residents in all sorts of events, meetings, and activities in residential space. Through this pathic activity, the range of communication age, the time of communication, the selection of location, and the topic of communication discourse are examined. The investigation methods of this research were taken two ways: First, it carried out the observation of participation and in-depth interview by the participation of researcher in a way of life as a member. In order to prove more objectively, it enhances the reliability of data by adding the questionnaire survey through the convenience sampling of 150 residents of three communities. Moreover, $x^2$; chi-square test was conducted in order to verify the difference in heterogeneous groups. Accordingly, this research will bring about the great development in cultural studies by exploring a way of Korean life, based on the communication of Korea community in residential life space, which can unify the community through sharing the meaning, interacting and delivering the message.

Optimal Control for Multiple Serial Sampling Systems (다중시리얼 샘플링 시스템의 최적제어)

  • In industrial multivariable plants, it is ofte the case that the plant outputs are measured in similar components not simultaneously but serially. In this paper, the problem of estimating the state vector of the plant based on the data obtained from such a measuring scheme is considered, and a special type of observer(referred to as a $'$multiple serial-sampling$'$ type observer) which renews its internal states whenever a new group of data is obtained is proposed. It is proved that such an observer can be constructed for almost every sampling period if the palnt is observable as a continuous-time multivariable system, and that the poles of the closed-loop system using the multiple serial-sampling type observer consist of the poles of the observer and those of the state feedback system. The behaviors of the observer and the closed-loop system are studied by simulation. The results of simulation indicate that a multiple serial-ampling type observer can estimate the state of the plant more accurately than the ordinary type observers and improve the closed-loop performance, especially, in the existence of measuring noise.ng noise.

  • We consider a window-controlled selective-repeat ARQ scheme for error control between two adjacent nodes lying on a communication path. In this scheme, each packet to be transmitted is endowed with a serial number in a cyclic and sequential fashion. In turn, the transmitting node is not allowed to transmit a packet belonging to a window before every packet in the previous window is positively acknowledged. Such postponement of packet transmission incurs a degradation in throughput and delay performance. In this paper, aiming at improving packet delay performance, we employs a supplement scheme in which a serial number is duplicated within a frame. Classifying duplication rules into fixed, random and adaptive categories, we present candidate rules in each category and evaluate the packet delay performance induced by each duplication rule. From numerical examples, we observe that duplicating serial numbers, especially ADR-T2 effectively reduces mean packet delay for the forward channel characterized by a low packet error rate. We also reveal that such delay enhancement is achieved by a high probability of hitting local optimal window size.

Estimation of Rainfall Erosivity in USLE (범용토양유실공식의 강우침식도 추정)

  • No complete methods for estimating soil loss, included by rain storms, from a small watershed are available yet, and the best recommended method is to use measured data from the watershed. When no measured data is available from the watershed, empirical models for estimating the soil loss, such as the Universal Soil Loss Equation(USLE), is well recommended in practice. For using this equation, it is necessary to estimated the rainfall erosivity, commonly expressed as R, of the watershed. In this study, first we collected data of the probable rainfalls with the return periods of 2, 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 80, 100, 200, and 500-yr and with the duration hours of 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 6, 12, and 24-hr. Using this data, we calculated the design values for R for the return period of 24-hr at each major rainfall-measuring station nationwide. Then we constructed the iso-erodent map of Korea for each return period of the 24-hr design storm. This study shows that the 24-hr duration iso-erodent map of the 5-yr return period is very similar to the annual average iso-erodent map of Korea. This study also shows that the 24-hr duration R-values of a certain return period can be estimated by multiplying certain parameters, obtained from this study, to the 24-hr duration R-values for the 5-yr return period or the annual average R-values. Finally, the R-values of the design storm with the 24-hr return period obtained from this study can be used for designing the settling basins at small watersheds.
