Nursing students experienced anxiety and fear of building relationships with psychiatric patients due to lack of professional knowledge about metal illness and skill to take care of the patients. The simulation education is known as an effective teaching-learning method since being performed in a non-threatening environment similar to clinical setting. The purpose of this nonequivalent quasi-experimental study was to identify the effect of simulation on anxiety and self-confidence about the psychiatric-mental health nursing practice. The third year nursing students at a three year nursing program were participated in this study. For the experimental group (N=28) the simulation education using the standardized patient based on the scenario for patients with schizophrenia was performed, and for the control group (N=18), the debated education applying the case study same as for the experimental group was made in the class. Using SPSS, t-test and ANCOVA were analyzed to compare the anxiety and self-confidence between the experimental and control groups. As a result of the study, the anxiety score on psychiatric-mental health nursing clinical practice of the experimental group significantly decreased, compared to that of the control group, but the self-confidence score for the performance of psychiatric nursing care showed no significant differences between the groups. Accordingly the simulation education can be an effective educational method to reduce anxiety about psychiatric-mental health nursing clinical practice for nursing students.

The purpose of this descriptive study was to identify the relationship among incivility, burnout, coping, and satisfaction to clinical practice experienced by nursing college students in clinical practice. A set of self-reported questionnaires, which included demographic characteristics, incivility, burnout, coping, and satisfaction to clinical practice, was completed by 160 nursing college students. Data was analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis by SPSS ver. 18.0. The mean age was 21.5 years. The mean scores, in Likert scales, were 1.18. 3.41, 2.48 and 3.30 out of 5 for items of incivility, burnout, coping, and satisfaction, respectively. According to our analysis, significant positive correlations were observed among incivility, burnout, and coping; significant negative correlations were observed between incivility and satisfaction, as well as between burnout and satisfaction. The predictors on satisfaction to clinical practice were coping, incivility, and burnout. Our model explained 26.6% (F=9.868, p<.001) of the variance. Based on the findings of this study related to main impediment, it is necessary to build prepared practice environments, such as interpersonal relations capacity empowerment and supporting system. Therefore, various nursing curricular programs are needed to promote satisfaction through multilateral collaboration with clinical practice among nursing college students.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the attributes of the concept of clinical performance skills in simulation-based practical training and to organize them in order to establish theoretical foundations for clinical competence. The research method employed was the concept analysis process of Walker and Avant (2011). Papers related to clinical competence published between January 2000 and April 2023 were selected by searching various databases such as PubMed, CINAHL, Ovid-Medline, DBpia, KISS, and others. The attributes of clinical competence were found to be (1) the clinical competence of knowledge, judgment, and skills, (2) Adaptability to Changing Healthcare Environment (3) the ability to perform nursing roles appropriately in response to the demands of nursing subjects. This study is significant as a concept analysis study that recognizes the importance of nursing from a nursing perspective in a situation where research on clinical competence is active in simulation-based training. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop training programs and tools including the attributes of clinical competence in simulation nursing education and to measure the effectiveness of the programs using them. nursing perspective in a situation where research on clinical competence is active. This study was conducted to discover the meaning and the essential structure of the experiences of nursing students' introductory clinical practice. The participants were eight nursing students who had carried out the introductory clinical practice at a hospital. The data was collected from July 15 2019 to July 31, 2019 through focus group discussions and in-depth individual interviews using non-structured questionnaires. The data was analyzed by Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis methodology. The introductory clinical practice experienced by nursing students was categorized as followed: 'Feel worried and concern about expectations at the same time', 'Hospital experience as reality', 'Becoming accustomed to complexed emotion's, 'The first step of becoming a nurse', and 'Preparation for the future'. The five categories were expanded in the same context according to time. The essential structure of the clinical introductory practice experiences of the nursing students revealed by the study is that they begin to practice feeling worried and concerned about expectations, and concern about experience and adaption to various situations, emotions and preparation for the future. Based on the results obtained from this study, it is necessary to develop a realistic and effective education program before starting clinical practice.

The purpose of this study was to examine the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the nursing students' perception of instructor caring (NSPIC) scale developed by Wade and Kasper for nursing students. We collected data from 219 nursing students in the 3rd to 4th year at three nursing colleges from June 4 to June 20, 2018. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0. An exploratory factor analysis with varimax rotation was performed, resulting in five factors (respectful sharing, confidence through caring, control versus flexibility, supportive learning climate, appreciation of life's meanings) with a total of 27 items. Confirmatory factor analysis supported good convergent and discriminant validities. In addition, the concurrent validity test confirmed that the K-NSPIC scale was a validity tool as the correlation of the clinical learning environment (CLE) scale appeared as r=.64 (p<.001). The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the K-NSPIC was .88, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient for each of the five factors was .91, .86, .80, .76, and .85; internal consistency was confirmed. It is significant that the K-NSPIC proved applicable as a useful tool for assessing instructor caring. It is also expected that it will assist in the design of programs to improve the caring ability of instructors.
