  • This study is a structural equation modeling study that describes patient safety incident management activities for nursing students with clinical practice experience and uses Ajzen's theory of planned behavior and safety culture climate-safety behavior model as conceptual bases, proposes a hypothetical model of nursing students' patient safety incident management activities based on the literature review, and verifies the appropriateness of the model and hypotheses through the collected data. Data were collected from 251 nursing students with clinical practice experience using a structured questionnaire. The results of this study confirmed that the model is appropriate and that patient safety management attitude, patient safety culture, and safety motivation are predictors of nursing students' patient safety management activities. Therefore, in order to improve patient safety management activities, it is necessary to provide effective patient safety incident management education programs for nursing students so that nursing students can perform correct patient safety management behaviors from the clinical practice site to the clinical practice site after graduation, and it is necessary to explore how to continuously lead such education programs to the practice site.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate empathic ability, Nunchi, learning flow and clinical competency, and to identify the influencing factors on clinical competency of nursing students. Method: There were 179 nursing students as participants in K city, who were surveyed between May 10 and May 14, 2021, using a self-report questionnaire. Data were analyzed by frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression using SPSS Win 21.0. Result: There was a positive correlation between empathic ability and Nunchi(r=.148, p=.048) and between learning flow and clinical competency(r=.605, p<.001). In the multiple regression, Academic achievement(𝛽=.129, p=.049), Age(𝛽=-.116, p=.014) and satisfaction of clinical practice(𝛽=-.242, p<.001) were associated with clinical competency. These factors accounted for 38.4% of the total variance in clinical competency. • This study aimed to test a hypothetical model explaining the mediating effect of depression on the relationship between academic burnout and clinical practice stress among nursing students in the post-COVID-19 era. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 200 senior nursing students from two universities in C province, South Korea, from December 1 to 9, 2023. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and structural equation modeling with SPSS/WIN 26.0 and AMOS 26.0. The hypothesized model explained 75.6% of the variance in clinical practice stress among nursing students. Depression did not mediate the relationship between academic burnout and clinical practice stress (β=.06, p=.160). However, both academic burnout (β=.77, p=.004) and depression (β=.23, p=.005) directly affected clinical practice stress. In the post-COVID-19 era, academic burnout significantly influences nursing students' clinical practice stress. While depression does not mediate this relationship, it directly affects clinical practice stress. These findings suggest the need for interventions focusing on reducing academic burnout through mentoring programs and stress management strategies, alongside depression management, to alleviate clinical practice stress among nursing students. Future nursing education should implement an integrated approach to manage students' academic burden and support mental health following clinical practice.
