Minimum Ignition Temperature of Zn-Al Dust Mixture Layer (Zn-Al혼합물 퇴적분체의 최소발화온도)

  • 본 연구는 Zn-Al혼합물 분진의 화재폭발사고예방을 위한 안전자료 확보를 목적으로 최소발화온도를 실험적으로 조사하였다. Zn-Al혼합물의 최소발화온도 측정은 퇴적두께 10 mm, 직경 100 mm의 원형 형태로 퇴적된 시료를 대상으로 가열판의 승온속도 $20^{\circ}C/min$의 조건에서 실시하였다. 그 결과, $280^{\circ}C$에서 Zn-Al혼합물 분체는 가열 후 1000 s부터 발열을 통하여 급격히 온도가 상승하여 발화 여부 판단기준이 되는 $450^{\circ}C$를 넘어 $600^{\circ}C$에 다다르며 시간과 함께 감소하였으며 임계 최소발화온도는 $280^{\circ}C$로 나타났다. 퇴적Zn-Al혼합물 분체의 최소발화온도는 문헌에 제시된 Al에 비하여는 낮은 것으로 나타났다.

  • 본 연구에서는 ETL층으로 널리 알려져 있는 PBD(2-(4-biphenyl)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl) -1.3,4oxadiazole)를 HBL(Hole-blocking layer) 물질로 이용 하고 Nile red를 사용하여 적색 발광의 EL(electroluminescence) 소자를 제작 평가하였다. 일반적인 유기 EL 소자의 구조인 Anode/HTL(Hole Transport Layer)/ETL(Electron Transport Layer)/Cathode로 이루어져 있다. 여기에 HTL과 ETL사이에 HBL를 추가하여 EL 소자의 성능을 향상 시킬 수 있으면, 이러한 구조의 최종 소자를 제작 EML(emitting layer; Nile red)의 두께 및 임계전압을 달리 하여 소자 의 특성을 평가 연구 하였다.

  • This paper shows the study on the capacity of H-shape column at elevated temperature in fire. The main parameters are temperatures, slenderness ratios and load ratios. The physical properties of steel material at elevated temperatures are according to EC3 Part 1.2. The critical temperature of local buckling at elevated temperatures are lower when the yield strength of the material is higher, and when the ratios of width-thickness of plates are larger. The evaluation capacity of uniformly heated steel cloumns were considered to axial forces, moments of strong axis and weak axis to the LRFD.

  • 초임계 익형은 천음속 영역에서 비행하는 상업용 민간 항공기와 전투기 날개의 공력성능을 향상시키기 위해 Whitcomb R. T.가 제안 하였다. 초임계 익형은 상부표면을 평평하게 디자인하여 임계마하수보다 큰 마하수에서 나타나는 익형 주위의 충격파 출현을 지연시킴으로써 항력을 줄일 수 있고, 상부 표면의 평면 설계로 인한 양력 감소를 보정하기 위하여 하부 표면의 꼬리부분에 캠버가 있는 형상을 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 EDISON CFD를 이용하여, 초임계 익형의 공력특성을 해석하고 Xfoil의 data와 비교 분석하였다. 또한, 초임계 익형의 형상을 변경하여 두께와 뒷전 캠버가 다른 초임계 익형을 설계하였다. 새로운 초임계 익형의 형상은 상용 프로그램 Maple12을 이용하여 Whitcomb Integral Supercritical Airfoil의 형상을 수정하여 구할 수 있다. 초임계 익형 주위의 유동을 2D압축성 유동으로 가정하고 EDISON CFD의 2D_Comp-2.0 솔버를 사용하여 수치해석을 수행하였다.

  • 전기영동전착법을 이용한 초전도 후막선재의 제작은 제작 장치와 공정이 간단하고 두께제어 및 다양한 형태의 초전도 막과 선재 제작이 가능한 경제적 효율성과 기술적 장점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 초전도 후막의 특성향상을 위하여 전착공정 과정에서 입자의 치밀성 및 배향성 향상을 위한 칙적화 방안과, 건조 및 열처리 과정에서 발생되는 크랙 및 기공현상과 같은 문제점을 극복 할 수 있는 균일한 후막 표면 화보에 관한 비교 분석 연구를 수행하였다. 전기영동전착법에 의한 초전도후막 제작을 위한 조건 중 현탁용매 조건에 대한 최적화를 구현함으로써 전착 불균일성에 따른 초전도 특성 저하요인인 후막표면의 기공과 크랙현상을 최소화하였다. 전기영동 전착법에 의한 초전도 후막의 특성을 향상시키기 위한 제작 방법으로 각 용매별에 따른 안정화된 제작 조건을 구현하였다.

  • YBCO CC의 초전도 전력기기 응용에 대한 자화손실 저감을 위한 연구가 진행중이다. 본 논문에서는 임계상태 모델에 기초한 수치해석을 이용하여 슬릿개수의 변화에 따른 YBCO CC의 자화손실 저감 특성을 해석하였다. 수치해석을 위한 YBCO CC의 규격은 두께와 폭이 각각 $2{\mu}m$, 4mm이며 슬릿에 의한 선재분한인 필라멘트는 각각 2,4,8개이다. 또한, 수치해석의 결과는 strip모델의 자화손실식과 비교하였다. 해석 결과, 자기적으로 결합되지 않은 strip모델 해석값과 수치해석값은 차이를 보였으며 필라멘트 개수의 변화에 따라 약 1/n 수준으로 자화손실이 저감됨을 확인하였다.

  • Characterization of quantitative trait loci (QTL) was investigated in the experimental crosses between Berkshire and Yorkshire breed. A total of 525 F$_2$ progenies from 65 matting of F$_1$ Parents were produced. Phenotypic measurements included average daily gain (ADG), average back fat thickness (ABF), and loin eye area (LEA). To identify the presence of QTL for reproductive performance, birth weight (BWT) and body weight at 16 days (16DAY) were included as indirect trait. QTL segregation was deduced using 8 markers assigned to chromosome 2 (SSC2). Quantitative trait locus analyses were performed using interval mapping by regression under line-cross model. Presence of imprinting was tested under the statistical model that separated the expression of paternally and maternally inherited alleles. To set the evidence of QTL presence, significance thresholds were derived by permutation following statistical tests, respectively. Genome scan revealed significant evidence for three quantitative trait loci (QTL) affecting growth and body compositions, of which two were identified to be QTL with imprinting expression mode near the ICF II gene region. For average back fat thickness (ABF), a paternally expressed QTL was found on chromosome 2 (SSC2). A paternally expressed QTL affecting loin eye area (LEA) was found in the region of SSC2 where evidence of imprinted QTL was found for average back fat thickness (ABF). For average daily gain (ADG), QTL expressed with Mendelian mode was found on chromosome 2 (SS2). Also, QTL affecting average daily gain (ADC), was identified to be expressed with Mendelian express mode.

  • Since the lack of the spent fuel storage capcity has been expected for all Korean nuclear power plants in the mid-1990s, the maximum density rack (MDR) with consolidated fuels can be proposed to overcome the shortage of the storage capacity in KNU 9 & 10 which have most limited capacities. To ensure the safety when the alternatives are applied in the KNU 9 & 10, the multiplication factor are calculated with varying the rack pitch and the thickness of consolidated storage box by the AMPX-KENO IV codes. The computing system is verified by the benchmark calculation with criticality experiments for arrays of consolidated fuel modules, which was reported by B & W in 1981. Also an abnormal condition, i.e. malposition accident, is simulated. The results indicate that the KNU 9 & 10 storage pools with consolidated fuel are safe in the view of the criticality. Thus the storage capacity can be expanded from 9/3 cores into 27/3 cores even with considering equipments and cooling spaces.

A Study on Adhesive Joints for Composite Driveshafts (복합재료 동력전달축의 접착조인트에 관한 연구)

  • Substituting composite structures for conventional metallic structures has many advantages because of higher specific stiffness and specific strength of composite materials. In this work, one-piece driveshafts composed of carbon/epoxy and glass/epoxy composites were designed and manufactured for a rear wheel drive automobile satisfying three design specifications, such as static torque transmission capability, torsional buckling and the fundamental natural bending frequency. Single lap adhesive joint was used to join the composite shaft and the aluminum yoke. The torque transmission capability of the adhesively bonded composite shaft was calculated with respect to bonding length and yoke thickness by finite element analysis and compared with the experimental result. Torque transmission capability was based on the Tsai-Wu failure index fur composite shaft and the failure model which incorporated the nonlinear mechanical behavior of aluminum yoke and epoxy adhesive. From the experiments and the finite element analyses, it was found that the static torque transmission capability of the composite driveshaft was highest at the critical yoke thickness, and saturated beyond the critical length. Also, it was found that the one-piece composite driveshaft had 40% weight saving effect compared with a conventional two-piece steel driveshaft.

  • Currently. the north american symptomatic carotid endarterectomy trial, european carotid surgery trial, and common carotid method are used to measure the carotid stenosis for determining candidate for carotid endarterectomy using the projection angiography from different modalities such as digital subtraction angiography. rotational angiography, computed tomography angiography and magnetic resonance angiography. A new computerized carotid stenosis measuring system was developed using MR angiography axial image to overcome the drawbacks of conventional carotid stenosis measuring methods, to reduce the variability of inter-observer and intra-observer. The gray-level thresholding is one of the most popular and efficient method for image segmentation. We segmented the carotid artery and lumen from three-dimensional time-of-flight MRA axial image using gray-level thresholding technique. Using the measured intima-media thickness value of common carotid artery for each cases, we separated carotid artery wall from the segmented carotid artery region. After that, the regions of segmented carotid without artery wall were divided into region of blood flow and plaque. The calculation of carotid stenosis degree was performed as the following; carotid stenosis grading is(area measure of plaque/area measure of blood flow region and plaque) * 100%.
