A Research on the User's Cognitive Stress According To Font Size displaying on Mobile Electronics (휴대용 전자기기에 표시하는 문자크기와 유저의 인지적스트레스)

  • This study is about the effect on the user's cognitive stress by font size when they read on PDA(Personal Digital Assistant). The evaluation was done through both subjective evaluation and physiological one, which is brain wave test, while the research and analysis were focused on the relationship between the user's cognitive stress and font size. The two final results were found out as follows. 1) Font sizes, which were tested, were 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 points. Among theses, font size 14 was the least stressful for the users, while the most stressful size was found out 8 points. 2) The cerebral cortex reaction according to the font size activated occipital lobe, parietal lobe of occipital visual area. Here we could come to a very Important conclusion that the smaller font size on mobile information appliances made users the more stressed.

A Study on the Research Trend in the Dyslexia and Learning Disability Trough a Keyword Network Analysis (키워드 네트워크 분석을 통한 난독증과 학습장애 관련 연구 동향 분석)

  • The present study was performed to investigate the general research trends of dyslexia and learning disability to explore the centrality of related variables though analysis of keyword networks. Data were collected from ten years articles research information sharing service(RISS) which is provided by korea education and research information service(KERIS). The research subjects selected for the analysis were keyword cleansing work, extraction major keyword using KrKwic program and using NodeXL program to Visualize the center of connection between keyword. The results of this were as follows. First, totally 72 of keyword were extracted from keyword cleansing process and among those keyword. major keywords included learning disability, dyslexia, RTI. Second, analysis of the betweenness centrality of dyslexia and learing disabilities shows that learning disabilities are a key word that has been addressed in the study of dyslexia and learning disabilities in korea. The results of these studies suggest a method of analyzing trends in qualitative and qualitative analysis in relation to dyslexia and learning disorder.

멀티미디어 파일을 위한 BSD 디스크

  • 본 논문에서는 디스크상에 저장되는 멀티미디어 파일들의 반응시간의 특성을 반영하여 멀티미디어 데이터가 요구하는 실시간(real-time) 특성을 고려하는 디스크 스케줄링을 구현하여 보았다. 기존 운영체제의 디스크 스케줄링 방식은 멀티미디어 파일들에 대한 처리에 있어서, 멀티미디어 파일들이 가지는 시간적인 특성을 고려하지 않는 문제를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 디스크 읽기 요철 발생시에 각 요청의 처리가 이루어져야할 시간의 기한인 마감시간(deadline)을 설정하고, 가장 급한 마감시간을 가지는 요청들을 먼저 처리하되 같은 마감시간을 가지는 요청들에 대해서는 디스크 헤드의 이동?향상에 있는 요청들을 먼저 처리하게 하는 알고리즘을 적용한 디스크 스케줄링을 구현했다. 요청들이 마감시간을 넘겨서 처리되는 비율과 초과시간을 평가 지수로 하여서 지존의 BSD 디스크 스케줄링에 비해 개선된 점을 살펴보았다.

  • 언어는 모든 교육에서 중요한 역할을 담당하므로 국어 교과목은 교육의 기본 목표인 언어사용의 신장을 위해서 중요하게 다루어지고 있다. 언어발달을 위한 국어 교육활동은 듣기, 말하기, 읽기, 쓰기의 네 가지 영역에 기초를 두고 있으며 학생들의 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 쌍방향 멀티미디어를 이용하면 이러한 영역의 학습효과를 증가시킬 수 있다. 그러나 기존의 웹사이트의 개발 사례를 살펴보면 교과서 중심인 일방적인 제사만이 구현되어 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 흥미와 자발적인 참여를 유발하고 행동한 것에 대해 즉각적인 반응(Feedback)을 주는 애니메이션과 음성, 효과음, 높이, 학습, 게임으로 결합된 오락적인 쌍방향 멀티미디어 웹 컨텐츠를 개발하여 언어를 배우는 어린이들의 학습능력의 향상과 창의적인 언어 활동의 증대에 기여하고자 한다. 특히, 이 시스템의 큰 특징은 학생에 대한 학습 결과를 도출하고 이에 대한 해결책 및 각종 정보를 추출하여 학습진단 결과, 재학습, 학습독력의 형태로 학생 개개인에게 메일로 보내는 학습 통합관리 기능을 포함하고 있다는 것이다.

Responses of Kindergarten Children to Small Group Reading of Fantasy and Realistic Picture Books (환상동화와 사실동화에 대한 유아의 반응 비교연구 - 소집단 그림책 읽기 활동을 중심으로 -)

  • This study investigated the verbal responses of kindergarten children to fantasy and realistic picture books. The subjects were 60 five-year-old children divided into small groups of 4 children each. Each group was read four picture books of which two were fantasy and two were realistic. Transcripts of the children's responses were analyzed for number, content, and type of verbal response. Mean scores and standard deviations were measured and the data were analyzed by repeated one-way ANOVA. Results showed that the children showed (1) more verbal responses to the fantasy than to the realistic picture books. (2) They gave more verbal responses to fantasy picture books than to realistic books in terms of character, scene, event, and vocabulary. They also gave more verbal responses to fantasy picture books than to realistic books in terms of informative, heuristic, and imaginative types.

  • 최근 전자책 시장이 활성화 된 계기는 잘 알다시피 2007년 아마존에서 킨들(Kindle)이란 전자책 단말기를 출시하고 부터이다. 전자잉크(e-Ink) 디스플레이 화면 기술을 적용하여 매우 가볍고 읽기 편한 화면의 단말기를 출시하였다. 2008년에는 빈스앤노블에서 Nook라는 단말기를 출시했으며 올해 4월에는 애플에서 LCD 화면에 태블릿 형태의 아이패드(iPad)라는 단말기를 출시해 사용자들의 획기적인 반응을 얻고 있다. 단말기 하드웨어가 전자책 시장의 중요한 성공요인 중에 하나이지만 이에 못지않게 콘텐츠의 확보와 서비스 모델이 중요하다. 이들 회사는 도서유통에서 시작해 다량의 전자출판 콘텐츠를 확보하고 또한 독자들이 용이하게 콘텐츠에 접근하도록 서비스하고 있다. 전지출판물 콘텐츠 시장에서 사용자들이 원하는 콘텐츠를 제작업체나 공급업체에 독립적으로 서비스 받으려면 콘텐츠 포맷과 DRM 기술 등에 대한 표준화가 지원되어야 한다. 이러한 표준화를 통하여 저자가 작성한 전자책 콘텐츠를 어느 출판사든 사용할 수 있어야 하며, 어느 유통사를 통해서든 최종 독자들에게 근본적인 변환 없이 서비스될 수 있어야 한다. 이번 특집호에서는 최근 주목을 받고 없는 전자출판물 시장의 동향을 살펴보고 국내에서의 전자출판물 육성방안, 전자책 포맷의 표준화 동향, 디지털교과서 표준화 동향, 그리고 전자출판 서비스 및 솔루션 기술에 대해 살펴보기로 한다. 이를 통해 전자출판물에 대한 이해를 돕고 향후 전자출판물 시장이 성장하는데 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

The Effects of an School Library Program Using Picture Books and Graphic Organizers - First graders' Literacy Abilities, Book Lending Frequency, and Satisfaction for the Program - (그림책과 이야기 구조도식을 활용한 학교도서관 프로그램의 효과 - 초등학교 1학년 아동의 문해능력과 도서 대출 빈도의 변화 및 프로그램 만족도 분석 -)

  • This study was conducted to verify the effects of an school library program using picture books and graphic organizers on first grade children's literacy abilities and book lending, and to evaluate the program with mothers' and mentors' responses. Twenty eight first graders of an elementary school in Kyunggi province participated in this program. Their reading and writing abilities were tested, and their book lending behaviors were compared before and after the whole program. The participants explored 20 picture books by reading aloud and expressed their responses on the graphic organizers over 11 weeks. The findings of this study after the whole session was complete were as follows. First, participants significantly improved in reading comprehension and writing assessed in terms of fluency, format, organization, expression, contents, and themes. Second, they lent books more frequently from the library than before. Third, participants' mothers showed great satisfaction for the program in that it enhanced child's reading ability, reading attitude, and mother's interest in children's books and library, and mentors also reported very positive impact of this program to themselves.

Development of the Items for the Assessment of Mathematical Thinking (수학적 사고력 측정을 위한 수학 평가 도구의 개발)

  • The study aims the introducing the items for the assessment of mathematical thinking including mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and communication and the analyzing on the responses of the 5th grade pupils. We categorized the area of mathematical reasoning into deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, and analogy; problem solving into external problem solving and internal one; and communication into speaking, reading, writing, and listening. And we proposed the examples of our items for each area and the 5th grade pupils' responses. When we assess on pupil's mathematical reasoning, we need to develop very appropriate items needing the very ability of each kind of mathematical reasoning. When pupils solve items requesting communication, the impact of the form of each communication seem to be smaller than that of the mathematical situation or sturucture of the item. We suggested that we need to continue the studies on mathematical assessment and on the constitution and utilization of cognitive areas, and we also need to in-service teacher education on the development of mathematical assessments, based on this study.

A Qualitative Study of Korean Kindergarten Children's Reading Stances and Responses in Two Contexts: Official Reading Tasks and Spontaneous Reading Activities (유치원 대집단 읽기 활동과 자유 놀이 시간에서의 이야기 책에 대한 접근 관점과 그 반응에 대한 질적 연구)

  • This qualitative study explores the development of young Korean children's reading stances and responses to children's books and discusses their literacy development in relation to school reading experiences. Rosenblatt's theory (1978) of aesthetic and efferent stances is used to characterize the relationship between the reader and the text. A teacher's reading stances in the official school world are analyzed and their relationships to children's stances and responses are discussed. The teacher's efferent stance encouraged her children's responses to he efferent as well. It also influenced children's assumptions and expectations about the teacher's reading activities, so that the children came to view these activities only as ways of obtaining factual knowledge and practicing literacy skills. The children's own interests and intentions during free play time are described in order to understand children's reading stances in the unofficial school world. The children showed various types of stances during free play time even though they were encouraged to take only one type of stance, i.e., an efferent stance, in the official school world. The findings are discussed In terms of their implications for classroom practice and literacy research.

Reader-Response Criticism about the Functional relation of Romance, Women and Patriarchy -Based on Janice A. Radway's Reading the Romance: Women, Patriarchy and Popular Literature (로맨스, 여성, 가부장제의 함수관계에 대한 독자반응비평 -제니스 A. 래드웨이의 『로맨스 읽기: 여성, 가부장제와 대중문학』을 중심으로)

  • This paper examined the meaning and task of romance research with a focus on Reading the Romance(1984) by Janice A. Radway. This book, which analyzes romance texts by examining the situation and meaning of reading romance by women readers integrating between cultural studies and literary studies, is one of the most popular studies on the romance genre. Radway scrutinized the practical significance of reading romance in a community of women readers. Through a study involving questionnaires and in-depth interviews, she found that for women, romance reading is a 'compensatory fiction' that brings happiness and emotional redemption through a sense of liberation achieved by escaping from patriarchal daily life. The romance that women prefer is composed of 4 stages and 13 divisions: 'Encounter → Attest → Recovery → Happy End'. It also maintains a formula that begins with an immature female character's identity crisis and ends with a blissful union that recognizes the intrinsic value of the main character, who has turned into a man who is considerate of the women. Therefore, romance plays the role of pursuit of the 'female utopian fantasy' and at the same time a reconciliation of women to patriarchy. Feminist critics of the day criticized this argument. However, reading romance is a 'feminine reading', and romance is literature about the functional relationship between women's lives and patriarchy. Yet the interpretation could differ depending on the different viewpoints and definitions of the women's utopian fantasy. In recent years, the conditions of female reader's lives, awareness and imagination have been changing rapidly. As a result, the female utopian fantasy has also changed significantly. Nevertheless, women's lives in the real patriarchal system are still contradictory, and their adventurous imagination is spreading in alternative spaces such as the subculture. In this regard, the question is about the definition of romance and the meanings of romance research are still important task.
