  • The impact of regulations on industrial activities is significant. Because the food industry has to observe given obligations and bear costs and expenses resulted from complying with applicable food safety regulations. Meanwhile, A government drafts the regulatory impact analysis report prior to enactment, amendment or reinforcement of any regulations. The analysis powered by objective and scientific methodologies enable a government to judge whether a particular regulation will be good or bad for the society. An effective policy implementation in practice and cost-bearing is entirely up to industries. Moreover, opportunity cost and actual cost relating to or arising from regulatory compliance will be estimated only by the respective industries. Therefore, the food Industry needs to collect and accumulate the said information and also to disseminate their hardships and financial burdens. Objective and practical information will encourage a government to set out regulatory frameworks that rational policy making.

  • Amid growing interest in recycling around the world, the amount of waste is increasing despite the separate discharge efforts of each household, and it is difficult to find accurate data on recycling household waste. Also, recycling segregation is already settled in our daily lives, but we face a serious problem in which a significant portion of the recyclables collected are re-waste. In this study has been proposed a cash compensation system for recyclables, which is paid cash when the recyclables are washed clean and discharged. The cash compensation system proposed in this study could re-use 100% of the discharged recyclables, resulting in rewards for good deeds for individuals, greater returns for businesses and reduced disposal costs for local governments. In addition, it is expected that the government will be able to secure data related to the recycling of domestic waste, which will contribute to the management of recyclables at the national level.

  • The worldwide population is aging rapidly. In this circumstance, Korean society is in need of the urgent comprehensive countermeasures that will help the elderly with their health problems and infection control in their daily life. Universal design has supportive, adaptable, accessible and safety-oriental design standards for the elderly. Is this study, we propose the guidelines of the mobile application development based on the application of the universal design for infection control in the elderly. From the perspective of the universal design, there are several important guidelines including 'generalized access', 'simple and intuitive usage', 'low physical effort', and 'visualized language' based on the KCDC(Korea centers for disease control and prevention) principles for the elderly. These findings show that the guidelines for improving the health literacy of the mobile application via universal design are necessary to enhance the health behavior of infection control for the elderly.

  • Prospective memory is memory for activities to be performed in the future, such as remembering to purchase a piece of fruit on the way home or remembering to give someone a telephone message. Due to the decrease in memory ability, the aged have difficulty in remembering the tasks they intended to perform in the future. Employing survey and experimental methods, we identified the UI requirements for enhancing prospective memory (PM) performance for the aged. The survey included subjective assessments of PM performance for the aged and their preferred usability components and PM-supporting systems in an ubiquitous computing environment. The experiment examined the effect of contextual cues on PM performance for the young and the aged. Practical implications of our results were discussed in the respects of PM-supporting UI design requirements for the aged.
