This paper presents multiplexing structures to provide various subscriber interfaces in an ATM switching system with a high speed internal link, and analyzes the schemes in terms of a mean cell delay and a buffer sin. And we proposed a buffer management strategy to minimize a cell loss and accommodate new ATM transfer capabilities.
RFID applications use tags to identify objects, but recent applications tend to include diverse sensor devices such as light, temperature, and humidity sensors as well. RFID tag information is usually processed via the event driven model. However sensor devices are usually accessed via the functional call model. Therefore application developers have to deal with mixed data access models and device dependent interface functions. In this paper, we propose a sensor reader emulator that provides a consistent access interface to sensor devices regardless of the types of devices. SRE provides a more efficient way of developing RFID applications by providing a single application programmer's view to RFID tags and sensor devices. In applications where tags are fixed to a place, SRE can replace expensive sensor tags and sensor readers with inexpensive sensor devices reducing the total cost while providing the same functionality.
Technology and fashion are not as distant from each other as it might first seem. Early wearables were functional but awkward to wear and to look at. Today wearables are rapidly rising to meet the fashion world on its own terms by producing garments that are both stylish and comfortable. Personalization of wearables allows for new modes of self-expression, which is an essential factor in making fashion items that appeal to the public. Embedded technologies in the garment and the functionalities integrated into the electronic textiles influence the ‘wearability', comfort and the aesthetic of a fashionable wearable. Considering these factors is an essential part of the design process when creating user-centered fashionable wearables. Designers have to have a comprehensive understanding of the purpose, the user, the interaction, and in commercial applications, the right price point. An appealing design in combination with an intuitive interface will make for a successful fashionable wearable.
Recently, the demand for fast storage devices is rapidly increasing in cloud platforms, social network services, etc. Despite the development of fast storage devices, the traditional Linux I/O stack is not able to exploit the full extent of the performance improvement since it has been optimized for disk-based storage devices. In this paper, we propose an optimized I/O stack which can fully utilize the I/O bandwidth and latency of fast storage devices. To this end, we design a new I/O interface to replace the current block I/O interface and optimize our I/O interface. Our optimized I/O interface bypasses operations/layers in block I/O subsystems of the current Linux I/O stack to fully exploit fast storage devices. We also optimize the Linux file systems such as ext2 and ext4 to run on our I/O interface. We evaluate our I/O stack with multiple benchmarks and the experimental results show that our I/O stack achieves 1.7 times better throughput compared to traditional Linux I/O stack.
This paper propose the remote monitoring system using LoRa networks about storm overflow chamber, which is a device designed to discharge rainwater directly to a sewage treatment plant when it reaches a certain amount of rainfall during precipitation. In this system, when the information produced by the sensor is transmitted to the LoRa network server and updated, the application server can automatically receive data through the implemented communication interface. The application server carries out management functions of storm overflow chamber devices and subscription information, collects measured flow rate and opening-closing information, and provides statistical information using the collected data. The android app performs a firebase-based notification function to prompt the user of malfunctioning of the storm overflow chamber device.
