The Implementation of Application Services Using CSCFs of Management (CSCF 노드 관리를 이용한 응용 서비스 구현)

  • Recently, according to increasing the network traffic in the IMS, the role of Network Management System (NMS) is very important because of limited network resource. NMS can perform two kinds of routing ways with the capability of static or dynamic routing. The way of A dynamic routing is more efficient than static routing one because it can make the flow of traffic changeful among nodes in the IMS. Therefore, in this paper, we suggest a management function of NMS, using a dynamic routing algorithm for managing the CSCFs in the IMS. And then we analyze the algorithm by measuring the performance of PoC, one of the prominent application services to be deployed in the IMS.

Worm Detection and Containment using Earlybird and Snort on Deterlab (Deterlab 환경에서 Earlybird를 이용한 웜 탐지와 Snort 연동을 통한 웜 확산 차단)

  • A computer worm is a standalone malware computer program that probes and exploits vulnerabilities of systems. It replicates and spreads itself to other computers via networks. In this paper, we study how to detect and prevent worms. First, we generated Codered II traffic on the emulated testbed called Deterlab. Then we identified dubious parts using Earlybird and wrote down Snort rules using Wireshark. Finally, by applying the Snort rules to the traffic, we could confirmed that worm detection was successfully done.

  • In this paper, we present integrated SNS Gateway as way to reduce mobile SNS traffic. Integrated SNS gateway's role is communication broker that located between mobile clients and SNS server. In Integrated SNS gateway, web service adapter communicates with SNS Server. Experiment was performed in aspects of contents RTT and network traffic. We evaluate and propose performances of integrated SNS gateway using gateway.

  • This paper addresses QoS functions in mobile backhaul network to accommodate the diverse traffics in cell site. The traffics assigned to the switching function in RAN system, such as Ethernet frame, IP packet, and ATM cell, are segmented, and then encapsulated to transfer then to the mobile backhaul network. ISP can converge all generation traffics, such as voice, HSPA, over all-IP RAN through standard pseudowire encapsulation. These can be enhanced with diverse QoS methods as well as comprehensive monitoring and diagnostic capabilities. Therefore in this paper, QoS functions under theses operations is simulated according to the encapsulation functions.

  • MPLS is a integrated technology by using routing function and label swapping in the network layer. Based on the previous forwarding equivalence classes, it adds the fixed length label in ingress of the MPLS domain. For the routing, without the packet header information, it uses label for the forwarding decisions. In this paper, traffic engineering requirements in the MPLS internet will be setup. The traffic engineering function have to be performed previously with the network topology. In addition to, we presents the IP network topology and main function with MPLS signaling protocol.

Network Coding for Bidirectional Traffic in IEEE 802.16 Systems (IEEE 802.16 시스템에서 양방향 트래픽을 위한 네트워크 코딩 기법)

  • In this paper, we investigate how the IEEE 802.16 based wireless system can adopt the network coding. To avoid the problem of overhearing, we focus on the bidirectional traffic, where each end node exchanges network coded data over a relay node. The bidirectional traffic is usually observed in Internet, where TCP makes congestion control and error recovery based on the acknowledgement from the opposite direction. Thus, enhancing the spectral efficiency of wireless Internet through the network coding is expected. Our simulation with realistic radio characteristics and TCP-like traffic shows that the network coding improves the throughput by an average of 36 percent compared to the simple relay case.

  • This paper proposes a class-based FQ-CoDel(Flow Queue-Control Delay) algorithm. A variety of application system services create bottlenecks in tactical communication network and the bottlenecks cause some problems such as traffic loss and delay. Therefore, more research on effective traffic processing is needed. The proposed class-based FQ-CoDel algorithm, suggests dynamic buffer management and scheduling, classifies specific packets in each queue according to service attribute and criticality and checks periodically latency of the packets in each queue. Also, it abandons the packets if some packets stay in queue above schedule time and manages the total amount of traffic stored in queue with certain level.

  • SDN is one of the most actively researched topics to solve traffic problems in communication. SDN implements multiple networks in a single physical network by virtualizing network resources through an advanced API. Network Function Virtualized (NFV) distributes network functions from hardware using software instant, virtualization technology to VNF. These features make network management easier and improve performance by virtualizing IP, routers, and so on. In this paper, we propose a method to control the traffic and provide the distributed controller effect of SDN through SDN distribution in the virtualized industrial network. It is expected that SDN distribution will be able to manage traffic more efficiently when using the proposed scheme.

  • Recently malicious activities that is a DDoS, spam, propagation of malware, steeling person information, phishing on the Internet are related malicious botnet. To detect malicious botnet, Many researchers study a detection system for malicious botnet, but these applies specific protocol, action or attack based botnet. In this reason, we study a selection of measurement to detec malicious botnet in this paper. we collect a traffic of malicious botnet and analyze it for feature of network traffic. And we select a feature based measurement. we expect to help a detection of malicious botnet through this study.

  • Internet and mobile traffic continues to surge exponentially in recent years due to popularization of smart devices, the appearance of various internet services carrying large amount of traffic from richer content and applications. This phenomenon leaded to various network problems such as the congestion delay, the non-balanced traffic ratio between ISPs, the continuous network investment cost and the Internet access problems. In light of changed data-driven communication ecosystem, There are growing concerns by both academia and industry that settlement-free peering and full transit regime have the limitations such as not only difficulties in maintaining mutual benefits but also difficulties in securing investment incentives for upgrading network performance and quality. Thus, it becomes more necessary for introducing the evolved internet interconnection regime which can fulfill the All-IP network environment. This study derives core issues regarding internet interconnection regime in Korea and suggest new evolved alternatives based on three point of view(traffic optimization, cost optimization, network investment optimization) through the empirical analysis.
